Dexxie's House.

Rory nodded when she said they should probably get dry. "Was kinda thinking the same thing," he said, pushing himself up from the tub and shutting off the water. When she left to get changed, Rory stayed in the tub a moment. Still standing, he smiled to himself to think about Dexxie. He still could barely believe he'd actually gotten to her.. it still didn't feel real.

After shaking his head a bit and running his hands through his hair, Rory reached for the towel he'd had wrapped around his waist and dried himself. Checking to make sure Dexxie was gone, he slipped off his trunks, wrapped the towel around his waist, and returned to the bedroom. From there, he pulled on a pair of cargo shorts and his shark-sock slippers. Taking a seat on the bed, he wondered what she had to show him. He hoped it was food.

He liked food.

Dexxie came back in to her room about five minutes later, her hair messily towel dried a d braided in a side pony tail to keep it out of the way. The wet bikini had been traded in for a black tank top and some skinny jeans. In her hand she carried a dark red acoustic guitar. Looking at Rory sat on the bed she wiggles her eyebrows at him. Singing and playing guitar wasn't usually something Dexxie mentioned. It was something she did when she was alone, but she wanted to share it with Rory, even though she was crazily nervous.

'So, um, you wanna hear a song I wrote?', she asked shyly.

Rory immediately clapped like a small child when Dexxie asked if he wanted to hear a song. "Yes yes yes!" he chimed, smile so wide it made his Asian show. Rory loved guitar music. He loved any music, but he really loved a good acoustic melody. And he assumed if she wanted to sing to him, she was relatively good. Even if she wasn't, it would be lovely. But he was quite excited to hear what she had.

"I didn't know you wrote stuff," he added when she came a bit closer. "I'm shit at writing. Lyrics AND music. I couldn't tell you how to even read guitar music if you asked me to. I dunno if that's what its even called. I leave that to Kyle." Pulling his legs up on the bed so he was sitting cross-legged, Rory leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees, his chin in his hands. "I'm excited," he whispered, pushing on his cheeks.

'Yeah I write stuff, not saying it's any good though', Dexxie replied with a nervous laugh. Most of her music skills she'd learnt from her Grandfather and he was no expert, he just knew how to string together a tune and so Dexxie did too. As for the singing well, back in the day she had a dream of being a famous singer and she had a couple lessons but never stuck to them.

'I'm kinda nervous', she added as she sat down on the bed next to Rory and adjusted her guitar a little bit.

Rory began nodding along as she sang, and eventually he was patting his thighs and tapping his foot on the ground as he kept beat. Near the end of the song, he'd dropped his head as it began to sway. He barely even realized when the song ended. But when he did, he smiled to himself and looked up slowly at her. "That was really good," he said in a hushed tone, his fingers curling under his palms as he pulled his leg back up under him. "You've got a real nice voice," he added, scooting a bit closer to her and looking at the neck of the guitar. He kind of wished he knew how to play.. but he had his drums, so he had no intention to learn.

"I'll have to call Kyle and tell him you're taking his place in our band," he laughed, reaching a hand forward to poke her nose.

Dexxie laughed and shook her head, 'No, that's okay, keep Kyle', she said placing her guitar behind them on the bed. Although she knew he was joking but she didn't like the idea of being in a band. Open mic nights were more her cup of tea. Speaking of which ...

'You want to go get some coffee, or food or something?', Dexxie asked standing up from the bed. It hadn't been too long since they'd had breakfast but she wanted to get out and see the town a little bit. It felt like a life time since she'd been home, who knew what could have changed?

"Yea, coffee-food-somethin' sounds pretty swell," Rory said as he stood from the bed and slipped into a pair of Vans he'd left out by his suitcase. He paused for a moment after doing so, looking down at his shirts. "Does that mean I have to put a shirt on..." he droned over dramatically. After a couple of moans, he just reached forward and grabbed a tank. It was one of those custom made ones where he'd cut the arm holes down to the lowermost part of the shirt. It was the closest thing he could find to not actually wearing a shirt. "Good enough," he said to himself, turning to Dexxie so she could lead the way. "Got a car? Or are we walking.. or jet-packing...."

'Jet packing', Dexxie replied with a straight face, getting her flip-flops out of her suitcase and sliding them on her feet. With that she lead Rory out the front door locking it behind them. It felt weird, to just leave the house like that. With the twins just getting ready to go for a stroll took just under an hour. There was always so much stuff to bring. Ah, to be a regular teenager with no babies. What a life that must be.

Walking on to the front lawn Dexxie glanced around, seemingly looking for something.
'What the hell?!', she exclaimed, spinning in a circle, 'Someone stole our jet packs!', she let her arms fall to her sides and pouted at Rory, 'I'm sorry Rory looks like we're heading out on foot'.

"Well nuts!" Rory announced, throwing his arms into the air when Dexxie said someone had stollen their jetpacks. "Good thing I wore my feet today," he added, pointing at her matter-of-factly before dropping his head in a fit of giggles. "You lead, I'm a foreigner," he said as he approached her. But just then, before she could start moving, Rory reached a hand out to grab hers. He said nothing and kept a straight face, even kept his head turned forward. It took him a second to lace his fingers with hers, but it happened and he held tight.
