Name:
Adele Dexton.
Age/DOB:
Seventeen, born on the 18th of April.
Grade:
Junior.
Personality
Dexxie is one tough cookie. It's very rare that she'll show any vulnerable emotions. It's just something she's never felt comfortable with. If times get tough she'd rather battle of alone rather than ask for help from anyone. In moment of weakness she'll act angry and push away any help offered to her although on the inside she'll probably just want to break down and cry. It's odd, and sometime's she wishes she wasn't so closed off to help, especially lately, because with the twins she could really use an extra pair of hands. Being tough is good though, in some situations. Like if someone is making fun of a kid that's too afraid to stand up for themselves, Dexxie will swoop in and knock that bully down a peg or two. Mostly just with her words but she's not above punching someone's lights out if the situation calls for it.
When Dexxie has the time she loves to just have fun, especially if it involves being out in the great outdoors. When she was a kid she spent most of her time playing in fields, taking the dog for mile long walks, she was never inside, and now she feels cooped up when indoors for too long. Picnics are her favorite things in the world and if you make her one she will give you hugs and then find somewhere to eat that picnic and have a jolly good time. Before her babies were born Dexxie loved to go to parties, but now that's basically a thing of the past as she's yet to leave her babies with a babysitter over night.
Though she'd never admit it Dexxie can be very brash at times. Saying things without thinking them through is her worst habit and sometime's it can lead to people getting pretty upset. It's not that she wants to hurt peoples feelings, it's just sometime's she doesn't realize what she's saying.
When in a good mood Dexxie is very chatty and excitable. It doesn't take her long to make new friends when she's in the mood to. If she's had coffee it can be hard to shut her up, and if she's comfortable around you she'll sing non-stop as well.
Appearance
Dexxie stands at 5"7 and her weight is none of your business, but trust me she was a lot skinnier before she had her babies, and she's pretty skinny now so ... Anyway, that's in the past. Right now Dexxie is pretty slim with a boyish frame, meaning she has barely any curves and slightly broader shoulders than your average lady. Living in Arizona, and visiting every Summer when she's at School has left Dexxie with an almost permanent tan, which she likes to show off by wearing tank tops and shorts when it's hot enough. Except in New York it's never hot enough so she just wears them anyway and catches lots of colds.
Dexxie's hair is naturally a dark shade of brown and she's never dyed it, she sees no reason to, she loves her hair. Most of the time it's a mess because it's so long and it takes a lot of time to straighten it, and with two four month old babies time is something you don't have too much of. Naturally her hair is quite wavy, which is annoying, curly or straight?! Pick one hair, jeez!
Story Time
Love is what got me in to this mess, and I'm not wasting any more time on it.
Don't get me wrong, I love my sons, I wouldn't give them up for the world, but I never planned any of this. I got pregnant when I was sixteen. Can you believe it? Well, probably, there's enough of us teen moms out there right now. Thing is, I never wanted to be that girl. I didn't even like babies. I didn't think they were cute, or fun. I saw a baby and I just saw a barfing, pooping, crying little annoyance. Of course now I feel differently. The guy that got me pregnant was a kid called Kegan, he was sixteen at the time too. It was stupid, I had this huge crush on the guy. I don't even know why, he wasn't my type at all. Anyway, we were at a party both a little drunk, and one thing led to another ... Nine months later I'm squeezing out twin boys.
At first I didn't even tell Kegan, I didn't tell anyone until I absolutely had to, which was around six months in. I just really didn't want to deal with the questions, the judgement. I didn't even tell my Grandparents until six months. Luckily I was away at School so it was a lot easier to hide it from them. They weren't happy. They went off on a huge rant about how I was just like my mom, so irresponsible. I told them I wasn't anything like my mom because I knew for a fact that I would never abandon my kids like she had.
When I finally told Kegan he freaked out, which makes sense, I freaked out when I found out too. Surprisingly though he was pretty cool, he even said he'd give me money if I needed it, which I declined ... Probably not as nicely as I could. I don't know, I was kind of a bitch about it. I just wanted to go it alone, I felt like I could ... And I've been doing fine so far. I kind of had to choice anyway seeing as Kegan moved away. Which hurt, and I didn't think it would. I kind of realized after he moved that I was ... Well, I was sort of in love with him. So yeah, I spent a lot of nights crying over that. Then when the babies came I didn't have time to cry anymore, so I had to toughen up pretty quick.
So right now it's just me and my baby boys living in an apartment paid for by my Grandparents, who love their grandbabies with all their heart. I go to School in the day, work in the evenings and play family at night. It's tough, but I wouldn't change it for the world.
History
Adele Dexton was born on the 18th of April 1995 in a small own in Arizona. Adele's mother, Stacey, was only sixteen at the time of Adele's birth and was around for approximately nine hours after. Just enough time to gather all of her savings, pack her bags and leave a note for her parents saying that her baby was their problem now. Needless to say Stacey wasn't a good mother, and Jason, the boy she ran off with wouldn't have made a good father either.
Luckily for Adele her grandparents were loving people and took her in to their family as if she was their own child. Though they never let Adele call them 'mom and dad', it was always 'grandma and grandpa', they didn't want Adele to forget her mother, despite what an awful mother she was, she was still their daughter. As well as their daughter Adele's grandparents had a son named Kyle who was six when Adele was born. As she grew up Kyle was just like a big brother to her, despite actually being her Uncle. It was a strange family set up, but it worked for them, and they were happy.
Adele coined her nick-name when she started School. Kyle had always been called 'Dex', because of his last name, and when Adele came along she was dubbed 'Dexxie', and it stuck. At School she was a pretty popular kid, though a little bit of a loner. When she wasn't off playing on her own she'd be roughing it with the boys, or tagging along after Kyle.
When Dexxie turned eleven her grandparents got the news that their daughter had been found dead in her apartment in New York city. They hadn't even known she'd been in New York, but now it was too late to go visit her. It was a sad day, but Dexxie didn't feel too upset. As long as she had her grandparents and Kyle she didn't really care. It wasn't like her mother was a real mother to her anyway.
At the age of fourteen Dexxie began to get restless, she wanted to get out of Arizona and see some other city. Kyle had left for University and she didn't have too many friends at School, she just wanted to go some place else. After a lot of talking her grandparents decided to send Dexxie to boarding school in New York. It was the place her mother had died, and it seemed like a good idea that Dexxie get to see the place where her mother had spent the majority of her life.
( Dexxie's grandparents had another child when Dexxie was ten, didn't know where to fit this in. The kid is called Liam. )
