Okay seriously I love Dexxie.
Okay so here's what I can kinda sorta see:
Eden transferred in a few weeks into the first semester of her junior year, and she was getting some flack from a couple punks who apparently thought they were being super funny and clever by cracking some racist jokes and doing dumb things like trying to knock the binders out of her hands and all that (as a joke, but still irritating her). Dexxie sees as she passes through the hallway, and since she's the tough cookie who isn't afraid to get serious, she threatens to punch their lights out unless they stop being idiots.
So Eden would immediately take a liking to Dexxie who doesn't mince her words and simper and all that, and would actually want to be her friend because she's so honest and says things bluntly and never tries to pull the wool over her eyes, and it's so easy to get along with her.
Also Eden typically is nervous around babies and young children because they tend to get fussy when she's nearby, but she's met the twins and does her best to be super tender and not upset them, and admires Dexxie for having the fortitude to be both student and mommy (twice over!), and tries to help out with errands when she can.
