They were caught up in the moment and didn't even think to put a condom on and she believed that breastfeeding was proper birth control. It obviously wasn't and she has since learned better about keeping them protected but it's obviously too late for that. She's had mixed feelings regarding the pregnancy from the very beginning for a variety of reasons. It was clearly unplanned much like her first leading her to believe that she was just as irresponsible as she had been at sixteen years old only now she felt like even more of a failure. How could she have done this to Cici? How was it fair to have another baby when it meant taking away from her first? Abortion seemed to be the only choice in the beginning but as she gave it more thought, she realized that she couldn't do it. She spent hours watching videos on YouTube of abortions being preformed, abortion stories and reading online about the experience which led her to believe that it was not the choice for her. They have since discovered that they were having a girl at an early 4D ultrasound that she scheduled for that very purpose and she is really trying to get more excited about this baby. It's not that she doesn't love Ariel because she does but the excitement factor is just not the same as it was with Cassidy. On a more selfish note, her body changes, while she's trying to pretend that she's happy about them, have her feeling less than confident. Hormones mixed with a previous eating disorder can be a dangerous combination but she's being careful with her body. She's allowing herself to over indulge in her cravings despite the knowledge that it will only make it harder for her when she gives birth. The two were just casual fuck buddies but she had this urge to be close to him in other ways. She wanted to know everything about him but she was too scared of love to even allow herself to try. So, she just quietly pictured the way that their children would look and how she'd wear a ballgown when they got married. It was actually just infatuation that simmered down once he and Carol got together but she still cares for him. She no longer has the urge to birth his adorable children, of course (unless it's a surrogacy situation) and they don't spend time playing soccer anymore.. None the less, she still considers him to be one of her very good friends and she would do anything for him as long as it doesn't involve breaking her wedding vows. They didn't always get along and he has said some stupid offensive things in the past that she's not fully over yet like basically calling her a whore several times in front of many people. She became a mother and realized that she was going to need all of the friendships and support that she could have so she's pretending that none of that happened. What's the point in dragging that back out? It's not like she's never said anything mean to him. In fact, they met at a bowling ally when Esme was still determined to get Wyatt Parks. She had a crush on him at the time and didn't want anyone else to have him despite the fact that he only seemed to think of her as a fuck buddy. Things only got worse when Esme had sex with Wyatt during a school camping trip well almost since he only got the tip in. She was already pregnant with Jonathan Russel's baby and she was currently dating Hudson Phelps so this was just a really bad idea. She didn't hate Carol and that was never why she did the things that she did. She actually, oddly enough, admired her and wanted to be like her. She thought that she was so much more beautiful and skinny than she could ever be. How could she compete with all of that?
