Name:
Olivia Zander
You can call her "Livvie" if you wanna
Age:
16
Grade:
10
Sports/Clubs:
Environmental Club
Appearance:
Olivia has big, bright blue eyes that tend to glaze out a bit as she always stares out into space and gets lost in her own mind, being sort of a dreamer, stargazer... which may creep some people out. She doesn't care, she's proud of her bug-eyes. She has blonde, wavy locks of hair that flow down just beneath her shoulders, and always falls a little bit into her face, which she constantly has to brush out. She's 5'6 1/2, leaning a bit on the tall side, but it doesn't stop her from wearing heels.
Personality:
Liv isn't the smartest cookie in the cookie jar. She's that annoying girl in class who constantly asks questions -- the one that people think is just trying to be cute by acting dumb, but it's really not an act, she honestly doesn't know. The girl is helplessly confused. How she made it to the tenth grade is beyond her. And it isn't like it's her fault, Livvie has dyslexia. She can't read well, but, dealt with the fact that she's stubborn, she refuses to let her parents get her a tutor as much as they insist on it. Tutors make her feel dumb, and it frustrates her to feel that way, and her feelings get incredibly hurt when someone points out her lack of intelligence. It's really not her fault.
She doesn't necessarily know when enough is enough, when to stop doing something... whether it be eating, or talking to someone that may not want to talk to her. Livvie just tries to be nice, and she's a little ball of energy, she's happy to do whatever someone tells her, giving her all and sometimes more. She's really just a people pleaser, even if she's not asked, or if what she's doing may not actually be so beneficial in the eyes of the other person.
Background Story:
Olivia doesn't remember too much from her early childhood except for the day her father left them. She was too young, too naive to know what was going on, only four years old. She had been sleeping in her bedroom, when her brother, Reese, lightly shook her awake. Her eyes fluttered open, and she looked up at the older boy, curiously.
"Livvie, dad is leaving, we have to stop him"
Reese looked at her with pleading eyes, and the little girl scrunched her eyebrows, confused, sitting up in bed now, and her brother led her out of the room and towards the living room, where they found their dad about to pick up the last of his bags.
"Daddy, where are you going?"
Startled by the sound of his daughter's voice, Philip Zander turned to face his children, and his heart dropped down into his stomach. He didn't want them to watch him leaving, and he gave out a sigh, taking a knee in front of his small daughter, "Daddy's just going on a trip," he insisted with a nod, "I'll be back as soon as I can, I promise I won't be long," he looked to Reese, "you take care of your sister, okay?"
The boy nodded, but the twelve-year-old wasn't stupid. He knew something else was going on, something was wrong, and part of him wanted to yell and argue with his dad, just to wake his mom up, so that maybe she could convince the man to say, but then he looked to Olivia... she shouldn't have to see that, see their parents fighting, arguing. So, he said nothing.
It wasn't for another few months later that Olivia started questioning Reese about when their dad was coming back. He would never give her a straight answer, always saying, "soon," but how "soon" was "soon"? As they grew older, when Olivia was six and Reese was fourteen, she started to 'play' with an imaginary friend, Bonnie. Bonnie would only come out whenever Olivia was alone, with a babysitter, or before Reese would come home from school. Bonnie was always there to help her with her loneliness, kept her company for the time being until she didn't feel so lonely anymore. She had friends, sure, though, even as a child, none of those friends ever made Olivia feel very secure.
Only Reese was ever really there to listen to his sister, ease her fears, protect her. He was doing exactly what his dad asked of him, except he wasn't doing it for him, he was doing it for Olivia. She really didn't know what had gone on... every night she would set up a place at dinner for her father, just in case he were ever to come back. Reese wanted to badly to just tell her that he wasn't coming back, but he couldn't bring himself to do it.
