Brody had been trying to think of something fun and totally not cliche to do with Cassidy but that was easier said than done. He didn't want to do something that made her feel uncomfortable because of her wheelchair. He couldn't imagine being stuck in a chair like that because of someone else's stupidity.. Not that he didn't like Jonathan! He just really admired the way that Cassidy was handling this whole situation. She didn't seem like she was wallowing in her misery like he would be doing if he was in her position. He hadn't handled the Pippa situation well at all. He'd been horribly depressed for months until he got himself out of England and on a plane to New York but maybe the two were different. His rape was horrible and he would remember it forever but it did not limit what he could do physically.. Cassidy well... what if she never walked?
He personally thought that the wheelchair was alluring.. Not in some creepy cripple fetish way, you sick pervert. It told a story like the scars on his wrists of overcoming something that others would never dream of... It was this thing that placed you at a stronger level than other people around you because you've gone through so much more. Sure he and Cassidy were just friends right now and she didn't seem to think of him as much more but he was going to make her open her eyes to the possibilities. Parker Radke was her best friend and she seemed to have feelings for him but if he really was dating Lorelai Reynolds then that door was closed for the time being. He wasn't trying to be the one, they were only seniors in high school for God's sake!
He wasn't immature enough to believe that they would end up getting married and raising a little family together simply because they went to play paintball once in high school. He'd picked her up at her dorm, like a gentleman, and gave her a dozen roses which were not as beautiful as her but they were a start! The place was a little while into the city but that was fine. It just gave them more time to talk! "So, Cassidy..." He started as stopped at a red light.. He wasn't going to speed through it! He knew about the accident. "Have you ever been wheelchair paint balling? I've heard it's really fun and it's right by an awesome Mexican food place."
