Fell down the stairs? Wasn't that what Esme use to say when she was with Chase? Hell, it was the most cliche excuse that anyone had ever told to avoid discussing the abuse that they were enduring. Beatrice wasn't sure how she was suppose to react to the fact that he was lying to her; call him out on it? Or just let it slide because he obviously didn't feel like she could handle the truth? Part of her was actually hurt that he didn't trust her enough with this information but the other side of her was reminding her that maybe he just wasn't ready to share intimate details of how his brother was beating the shit out of him. "Look... I know that you're lying and I really wish that you trusted me enough to tell me the truth about what happened to you but I'm not going to try and force it out of you." She shrugged as if it wasn't really a big deal but it was.. Wasn't it?
Did it mean something that he didn't trust her enough to share? Or was she just thinking too far into this? Maybe.. Maybe he didn't like her as much as she thought that he did. That would actually explain a lot of things like why he hadn't asked her out and why he didn't really seem into it when she was trying to seduce him. What if he had a girlfriend who just didn't live in town? What if he was only using her because he was lonely and she was there? He didn't seem like that type of person but you just never know these days. She didn't think that Dallas Kennedy was going to cheat on her sister like he did and she didn't think that Cooper would ever say such cruel things to people so maybe she was just a really shitty judge of character.
She didn't mean to let it show but it had to be clear as she slipped his jacket off and placed it over his shoulders, "You look cold.." Yeah that was why she was acting like this now. What was she really suppose to say? Ask me to be your girlfriend or just admit you don't want me? He was just keeping her hanging on basically and she didn't deserve that.

(( btw, i was really pissed off when I wrote this so if it sounds kind of pissy, that's why.))
She could tell he was lying? Well, that was almost expected because it was an awful lie.. terrible in fact. And her knowing that he was lying made him feel somewhat uncomfortable sitting there even if he didn't know why. There were just some things that he didn't feel like anyone should know and an innocent mind like Bee's shouldn't know what a terrible life he lived. She would only see the mask for now, the same one that he put on for lacrosse, school, his mom, Parker, everyone. He was only trying to protect them from himself and the burdens he carried. It was nothing against her.
He frowned at the return of his jacket well knowing if he'd just kept it on they would probably fishing or kissing or cuddling now instead of having a conversation about why he was injured. Finn tilted his head down and frowned at the dirt. Did she not get that he wanted to tell her? Or at least he wish he could? He was just scared because everyone else he'd told apart from his mom and brother and the one exception of Cassidy Simmons, had run from him. Who would want such a charity case?
After things had gotten quiet between them, Finn cleared his throat. His jacket had slipped to the ground but he didn't care, nor did he feel the need to retrieve it. The heat from the fire was finally warming him up and it was nice enough. "Bee?" He asked, upset that she wasn't talking anymore. He felt the urge to suddenly tell her, to maybe get her foot in the door with just how fucking crazy his life really was. He wasn't going to let her know everything, not at once, but maybe this would be enough not to scare her off.
"I feel like I can trust you.. y'know, with me." He paused and looked to her before exhaling heavily and staring into the fire. "Have you ever noticed that I only come back like this after I've been at my dad's? Well, there's a reason for that." This was so much harder than he thought it was going to be. "Sometimes my dad takes shit out on me. I didn't want to tell you because I think it's going to scare you if you know just how bad things are and.. and I don't wanna lose you." Finn had curled his knees up into his chest and had his arms wrapped around them. He huffed shortly and slightly shook his head. "I don't know why I'm telling you this. It's not exactly an attractive quality."

(Sorry, I was falling asleep when I was writing this~)
Bee couldn't explain the guilt that she felt when she heard Finn's explanation for the bruises. Why hadn't she just let it go? It clearly wasn't something that he was initially comfortable sharing with her and now she understood why. "I'm so sorry." Sorry? That was the best that she could do? "I didn't realize .... I'm sorry that I forced you to tell me that." She wanted to hold onto him and tell him that everything was going to be okay but she wasn't sure if it was the best idea to make that promise to him. What if his dad seriously hurt him? What if he killed him? "Finn... I know you said earlier that I wasn't falling in love with you and that I was just falling in love with the idea of you but I know right now in this moment that I love you." She wasn't thinking of him as a charity case that she was obligated to care for .... he was just suddenly so vulnerable in her eyes that she wanted to snuggle him. The only reason that she wasn't currently touching him was because she didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable.
She and her father didn't have the best relationship in the world but at least he didn't beat her! "Finn.... I want to say something brave and noble that will make everything okay but there's nothing .... I have absolutely no words to express how horrible I feel for you. I wish that you weren't in this situation. I wish that I could take away all of your pain and I wish I could make it okay but that's not really possible, is it? But, I can promise you that I will always be there for you to support you and if you need to vent or anything then you can come to me, okay?" Was she even making any sense? She'd never done this before! She usually dated guys like Bo who didn't really get deeper than the depth of a kiddie pool.
She finally gave into the urge to touch him and placed a hand on the small of his back. She was just gently massaging him and whispering the occasional reassuring word. She wasn't going to just leave at the first sign of imperfection! Finn was a wonderful person and his father's actions did not define him... Or at least she hoped that this wasn't a terrible warning sign.

The fact that she hadn't immediately gotten up and left was a little bit of a relief. His most recent girlfriend, which wasn't really recent at all, had done that and it near killed him. He didn't want her to feel sorry for him though, he just wanted her to know because maybe then she would understand why he acted the way he did sometimes.
Feeling her hand on his back washed away any other doubt he'd had that telling her was a bad idea. It was good that she knew, right? Finn wrapped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her closer to his chest. "You know that you're perfect, right?" He asked in a calm tone. He looked at the girl sitting next to him who was repeating the same words she'd said earlier, love, loving him, in love with him. This time though, it felt a little more meaningful even if he wasn't going to say it back just yet.
Unable to fight back the urge any longer, Finn leaned his head over and kissed her cheek before looking back to the fire with a small smile. His nerves were getting the better of him, but he cleared his throat and started with a little shake in his voice. "Bee?" He asked, turning his head back to her. "I don't.. I don't know how you'd feel about it, but I've had something I wanted to ask you since the last time you came over for dinner." He hadn't worked up the courage that night, but it was eating away at him.
"You're a beautiful spirit, you know that? You're strong and brilliant and I need someone like you in my life, someone.. good. I like the feelings I get when I'm with you, and I like how " Finn dropped his arm and pulled his knees back up to his chest and looking back to her. He had paused, trying to figure out the right words, but there weren't any so he just went for it. "Bee, do you.. is.. is it safe to say that we're together? because I want to be, if you do. Would you want to be my girlfriend?"

The anticipation of Finn asking her to be his girlfriend had made Beatrice wonder if the actual experience would ever be able to live up to it but this moment was honestly everything that she imagined. Okay, so she didn't think that it would involve the discovery that he was being abused by his father but that wasn't his fault! She meant to react in a calm, understated manner but she ended up just jumping up like an overly excited labrador. She wasn't even thinking about the fact that he was probably going to be judging her for this and likely second guessing his choice as she bounced around, clapping and squealing like a five year old. "Oh my God! Yes! I would love to be your girlfriend!" She even did a fucking cartwheel. Okay so maybe she was just a tad too excited and this was probably why she was single and hadn't been in a long-term relationship in what felt like forever.
She didn't completely realizing what she was doing yet in her obviously overly excited state and practically jumped on him, embracing him in a sweet hug with her arms around his neck. "I am so happy right now! Oh my God, I love you!" She felt strangely comfortable telling him that she loved him when they hadn't been together for very long.. actually, they had barely defined the relationship now. Her sister and Jonathan were living proof that you can love someone even if you haven't known them for very long. It took her a couple of minutes of girlish giggling to snap out of this little happiness daze.
She moved off of him with her hands suddenly covering her face to hide the fact that she was blushing a shade of red that she didn't even know existed until now. Her cheeks felt like they were hotter than the fucking fire in front of them! How could she have just humiliated herself in front of him when she had barely got him to think that she was a nice sane girl? She knew that there were a couple of ways that she could handle this and she was going with the more fun option which was trying to get him to satisfy an urge that she had been feeling since they first started hanging out together. She wasn't some easy whore who usually put out after a couple of weeks but something about Finn really made her all hot and bothered.
She placed a hand on his inner thigh and started stroking gently just to try and get something to rise from him. "Finn..." She murmured as she moved her lips to his neck and started sucking gently on his skin. Was that a turn on for him? It was for her! "I have a condom..." She purred as if she was in some kind of a cheap porn movie.

Finn beamed a giant smile at her excitement. If he had known about the outcome of his question, he would have asked it a long time ago! He had just been so hung up on the possibility of rejection, which he wasn't sure why he was even worried about it in the first place because of the way he noticed her always looking at him; and only recently the way he looked at her. He was impressed by her cartwheel, knowing damn well that was more than he could ever do seeing as a hand stand was about as crafty as he got.
When she tackled him to the ground, he supported their weight so she wouldn't just fly right over him and get hurt or something. Finn wrapped her up in his arms, not even caring that they still ached. He was laughing with her and at the fact that her face, despite the night darkness and red glow from the fire, was the color of a ripened tomato. "Why are you so cute?" He asked, leaning forward to cross his legs and take her hand.
She had moved it too quick to grab, and he froze up when she laid it on his thigh. She was at this again? It probably wasn't helping that his legs were practically wide open for the taking and he guessed she didn't see anything wrong with it. They were teenagers, and that's what most of them did around their age so he couldn't get made at her for anything; not that he would anyway. He wasn't really sure if he liked the feeling or not. He'd always connected anything sexual as being bad or scary, even if it wasn't his dad who was doing it. In his mind, it was terrifying.
Finn could feel his anxiety building up as soon as she'd mentioned she'd had a condom with her. He started to lean away from her, and slowly made it a point to move her hand to his knees so that he was able to bring his legs in. He appreciated her actions, but in all honesty, he wasn't ready. He didn't want to come off as a weak link by telling her that, shit, he was already vulnerable enough. "Bee?" He asked, suddenly. "Can... is it okay if we wait?" He continued, his anxiety notable in his voice.

Beatrice was a lot of things but a crazy sex addict was not one of them and she was not going to become one. She didn't usually even understand the appeal to rushing into a sexual relationship yet that was all that she was thinking about until he asked if they could wait. Could she really say no? She'd sound like a whore and probably be forcing him into agreeing which was basically rape in her opinion. She would much rather be miserable and unsatisfied with him than boning someone so that was a good sign or at least she assumed that it was. She forced the confused look to leave her face and realized that she hadn't said anything in an unacceptably long time. What if he thought that she was angry? She wasn't! She was just well disappointed and unfortunately the aching between her legs was a cruel reminder that her body was also quite unhappy with this situation. What was she suppose to do now? She couldn't exactly sneak off and ' take care' of herself without offending him but she couldn't really ignore this feeling either so she was going to do the most irresponsible thing that she possibly could - get in the lake. First of all, she couldn't swim and secondly, even if she could, it was freaking November and freezing! It wasn't like they lived in Florida or California where it was basically sunny all year long. "I'll be right back." She actually managed to force a genuine smile on her face and place a kiss on the top of his head. She really was happy to just be with him and it wouldn't matter soon if they were having sex or not because those kind of things fade. She didn't want them to be the kind of couple that had nothing but crazy passionate sexual chemistry because eventually those flames would die down or one of them would have something happen that would prevent them from having sex which would leave them with nothing. She didn't really realize how horrible of an idea this was until she was knee deep in the lake and too far into this godawful plan to go back now but hey, she wasn't horny anymore! The flaw to her plan was that she was now absolutely freezing and she was slightly concerned that she was going to literally freeze to death and become a Bee Popsicle. How awkward would that be for Finn? He'd forever live with the fact that the girl he asked to be his girlfriend froze herself the same day. Maybe they'd even show her stupidity on the news so everyone could join in and mock her. She slowly stepped out of the water and cringed with every sloppy wet step that she took. She could hear the water sloshing in her shoes for goodness sake! She knew that Finn wasn't a total and complete moron but she was really hoping that he wouldn't be paying enough attention to see that she was basically soaked from the waist down. "Hey baby." She actually sound it pretty casually despite the fact that she was shaking and felt like she was about to become ice cream... Could a human be ice cream? Maybe if he poured milk on her... But why would he do that? The thought actually briefly distracted her from the fact that she was so cold which was nice. "Sorry.. I just had to do a thing and... yeah." So.. Maybe he just wouldn't notice if she didn't act wet... How does a person act dry?

Finn had taken Bee's hand and was thumb across her knuckles while she sat there quietly. He wasn't sure what to make of her silence after his question but it made him antsy sitting there without a reply. Had he offended her and gotten her mad at him? That was all he needed, to piss her off and lose her too. He hated that he was so crippled by his own fear of loss or hatred from the people in his life, but it was his father's fault. He had pounded it so far into his cerebellum that he believed almost everything that asshole said.
He almost didn't let go of her hand as she stood and headed for the water. Finn thought she was going to walk back to her car, but no, she was definitely headed for the water. Was she... was she going to go swim? Was she crazy? Whatever she was doing, he stayed put and just watched carefully. Especially if she did decide to take a swim and couldn't keep herself above the water - he'd be there to help her.
He heard the splashing of water, and felt his body tense up, ready for anything. But he wasn't needed and she was coming back now, sopping wet from what he could hear and see. Finn shook his head as she neared him and laughed, "You're crazy, you know that?" He asked, smiling at her calling him 'baby.' He stood up from the ground and dusted his rear off before walking up to her. As he ran his hands up Bee's arms, he felt how drastically her body temperature had dropped and he instinctively pulled her against him for warmth. "Jesus, Bee, you're freezing!" He didn't care if she got his clothes wet too, he had at least two pair of everything in his bag that he'd carried down. Shit! Why didn't he think of that first..
"C'mon, I've got a change of clothes you can have." Finn stopped to consider their height difference, and obvious size difference too. "You'll probably have to roll them up though." He chuckled, bending down to retrieve the grey sweat pants and t-shirt with a pocket. He handed them to her and then continued, "I'll uhm.. I'll be over here." He said, pointing back towards the fire. He didn't want to impose on her changing or feel uncomfortable or anything of that sort. Honestly, he'd probably be more uncomfortable than she would be.

Beatrice wasn't really surprised that Finn noticed that she was cold and offered her a change of clothes.. He wasn't a total jackass like Dallas Kennedy! Okay so maybe that was a harsh way of thinking about him but she was still a little angry over the way that he had reacted when she and Bo had broken up. Did he really think that was necessary? And she knew that he was probably going to be a douche bag and say something stupid when she finally got around to changing her relationship status on Facebook. "Thanks, honey bunch." Honey bunch? Okay so it sounded a hell of a lot cuter in her head than it did when she actually said it out loud. It was actually really lame when she thought about it but she was going to just go ahead and blame it on the cold if he said anything. She actually giggled to herself when Finn turned away from her and went over to the fire. Was he really that uncomfortable with female nudity? Or was it just her body that he didn't want to see?
Wait no, she wasn't going to let herself go down this insecure road that led to body hating and jealousy about the fact that she didn't look like Lulu or Kat! So what if her boobs weren't the biggest and she lacked the curves that certain guys went for? She was Beatrice Elaine Reynolds and that was something that nobody else could be. Besides, if Finn wanted someone like Kat then he would have got someone like her, right? Right! He clearly appreciated her for the crazy often stupid girl that she was and she shouldn't question his feelings simply because he wasn't ready to seal the deal and have sex. She actually gave herself a little pep talk before she walked back over to the fire and sat down in Finn's lap. She actually didn't mean it sexually this time around but she'd definitely move if it made him feel like she was pressuring him or if he just wasn't into it. "Sorry about my reaction to you waiting to wait... I was being stupid and silly and I shouldn't be pressuring because I know how that feels."
She was kind of rambling but she felt like it needed to be said before she could resume what she actually wanted to do right now which was just snuggle with him next to the fire. She had her head rested in the crock of his neck and one of her hands was resting lightly on his shoulder to show a little bit more affection. "I am really glad that we're finally a couple." She purred sweetly before kissing his neck softly not to try and get a sexual response from him but that just happened to be the closet thing to her to kiss. "You know, I didn't think that this was ever going to happen..." What an odd confession but it was too late to take it back now so she figured that she might as well go ahead and explain why she didn't picture them being a couple so he didn't take offense to that.
"I kind of thought that you liked Stormy and I know that she's pretty so I got scared.. and I handled it all wrong by starting that rumor that she has aids, four children and steals sperm because she doesn't." She was only really saying all of this now because she didn't know if he believed her or not and she didn't want to be that controlling girlfriend that stopped him from having female friends! "You can like.. be friends with her and everything if you want because I don't mind. I'm going to work on my jealousy issues and be okay with the fact that you're a very handsome guy and that this school is full of beautiful girls who could possibly want to steal you away... I trust you enough to know that you won't hurt me."
