Samerie | Frozen Yogurt At The Mall

It had been an awful long time since Samuel and Valerie had hung out but it didn't matter because Sam was happy that they were finally spending time together. Actually, he was overjoyed and that was- that was a little strange. It was true that at times Samuel found himself second guessing himself of what his actual feelings were for Valerie. Did he feel more for her than just the love a friend has for another friend? Or was it more? In a way, Samuel felt comfortable talking to Valerie about it. He trusted her completely and that was also quite different. Samuel didn't trust people very easily but people did trust him. Anything confidential told to him would never come out of his mouth. He knew that Valerie was also like him, trustworthy. Therefore telling her about his feelings, he felt, would not make her uncomfortable. For now they were people watching at the mall. So maybe they judged people sometimes but they weren't entirely rude. It was just for kicks, really. He had his yogurt in front of him which was a berry flavored yogurt, banana, white chocolate chips with mochi. "How's it been, Val?" he asked her before taking a spoonful of yogurt to his mouth. She'd been quite busy, volunteering at the studio with Estelle, teaching little girls ballet -- all work and no play left a lonely Val who hadn't spent nearly as much time as she was accustomed to with her adoring best friend. So, despite how crucial it was for her to continue on practicing and edging closer to that next step in that demanding career that dance... Val seriously needed a break, thus, there she was, sitting with Samuel in the mall, people-watching. "It's been fabu, thank you," Valerie giggled, running a hand through her hair and scooping out a small portion of yogurt and spooning it into her mouth, "I'm a little sick of seeing little girls in tutus," she sighed, "I mean, I guess I'll have to get used to it, but," she shrugged, reaching a hand over to poke Samuel in the shoulder and winking, "your beautiful face is a refreshing sight to see." Valerie always enjoyed spending time with Samuel, and time apart was seriously draining despite the exchanging of texts or the occasional Facebook message or wall post -- it wasn't the same, even during classes together, you couldn't really hang out with your nose buried in an Algebra textbook. What fun was that?

Samuel's smile broadened when Valerie said that she had been good. He was happy that she didn't respond negatively. He thought it was pretty cool that Valerie was also a dancer except she did ballet and he did break dancing. "Oh..." he said, while his arms rested on the edge of the table, he shifted his eyes to the side and bit his lower lip. "It's a good thing I didn't put on my best tutu today." he looked to her once again and laughed softly at his own rather lame joke.
His eyes lowered to his shoulder, following her finger before laughing once again and smiling brightly. Did she just call him gorgeous? There was a slight blush on the apples of his cheeks, barely and it was faint. "I missed you too... If it wasn't that obvious." Samuel was certain that Valerie had seen the post he made about missing his best friend. And who was his best friend? Well, only her.
"I missed your beautiful face too." Alright, so that had come out terribly honest but to see her face he could go to her facebook profile. This was way more than just her face - he had missed her presence. Samuel took a spoonful once again before saying, "Well, I missed more than just your face..." he lifted the paper cup with a hand. It was something he did when he was nervous.

"Aww," Valerie clutched onto her spoon tightly, in anxiety, tilting her head down then smiling brightly at Samuel, "I missed you too, Sammy." Her eyes fluttered down into her yogurt, sheepishly. One of her favorite things about Sam was that she never felt too shy to talk to him, was never too nervous to be herself, say what she wanted because he was the one person who understood her... so this knot forming in her stomach was a new feeling for her.
"This is why you are most definitely my favorite person here," she grinned, "don't tell my sister, though."
She had seen the post of course, one reason why she was so insistent on going out with him on this day. Valerie had wanted to see Sam as soon as possible after reading it, not being all too patient. "I mean, I missed your hair, your voice," she sunk down in her chair, "just can't live without you, I guess, huh?"

Samuel smiled closed, almost holding in a nervous laugh. He was feeling nervous, like those moments when you were laughing for no apparent reason whatsoever. He just was really happy and he felt good about himself, because Valerie made him feel that way. It wasn't that he was insecure but he got even more confident around her, he guessed.
"I'm so telling her, I'm about to text her." Samuel moved his hand as if he were about to reach for his pocket. He then laughed, "You're my favorite person too though." he said sincerely.
When Valerie continued talking, Sam sat listening to her attentively and looking to her. He opened his mouth slightly and nodded slowly but quickly realized what she had just said. His hair? Was that because it was dyed... His roots were showing after all. He then smiled to the side while he looked down to his half eaten yogurt. His eyes then looked to her, "That makes two of us... I mean, I can't live without you too." Samuel said softly with a nod.

Valerie set her cup of yogurt down for a second to turn to Samuel, sticking her spoon inside then exhaling, "Which is why we can't possibly go another lengthy period of time apart from one another," she said, matter-a-factly, "I cut my days at the studio," she shrugged, like it wasn't such a big deal -- because it wasn't. Valerie loved dancing, and it was her life, practically, the only reason she was there in the first place, but she had plenty of time to further her career in it. Why focus so hard on the future when you could live in the moment?
"I only work Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays now, which are really not very important days, who likes those days?" she rolled her eyes and shook her head with a laugh, scooping out another spoonful of yogurt, "So, basically, I can have more Sammy time," she smiled, "that is if Sammy wants Vally time." she then scrunched her nose at the own nickname she just gave herself, "Val-eh-ree time?" she glanced to the side, then shook her head, "You get it."
