About My Character:
Full Name:
Prudence Dianne Keaton
Age:
Fifteen and her birthday is December seventh
Gender:
Female
Grade:
Sophomore
Sports/Clubs:
Cheerleading
Appearance:
She's petite standing at 5'4 and only weighing one hundred pounds which is slightly underweight according to her doctor. She doesn't like the overly bony look so she tries never to be more than fifteen pounds underweight. Her natural hair color is dark brown but she has started lighting it a little bit just for a change. Her eyes are hazel but she almost always has on brown colored contacts due to her bad vision. She got her belly button pierced during freshmen year by a friend's older brother who was learning how to pierce professionally. She has a small scar next to it from where the untrained piercer accidentally cut into her skin, oops.
Personality:
She's giving to a fault, she'd give you the shirt off of her back if you needed it. The flaw in this trait is that she's a pushover, she simply can't say no to anybody about anything in fear of offending the person that she's with. She doesn't want to come off as uncaring or bitchy leading her to veer too far in the opposite direction. She often sets herself up to get hurt by guys, she only seems to be attracted to unattainable men who are either in relationships already or simply have no interest in commitment. She tends to come off as flirty or overly affectionate due to her desperate desire to be close to another human. Her desperation is usually masked with the typical 'I'm just a friendly person' excuse because she doesn't like communicating her own needs to people since she feels like her problems could inconvenience them in some way.
Background:
Statistically speaking, children of two obese parents are more likely to be obese themselves so Prudence does whatever possible not to lose control as she saw her parents do. She witnessed first hand how much that her three hundred and fifty pound father struggled with simple tasks and heard the snide comments from strangers when her mother would attempt to squeeze into a pair of pants that did not have a drawstring.
Her first conscious memory of denying herself food was when she was seven. Her mother brought home fried chicken from KFC and they'd gone to the park near their house to eat. She just couldn't pick the greasy meat up especially with everyone watching her parents stuff their faces like starving animals. Slowly eating became more private for her until finally she could barely snack in public. She doesn't use the cliche 'I ate a big meal earlier' excuse for her aversion to joining friends at lunch because it's clear how hard she works in school and on cheer.
She had a pretty large college fund until two years ago when her mother had a heart attack and had to stop working so that pretty college fund went away even though she had been saving the money for it since she was five. All of the money that she earns at her part-time job goes straight to McDonald's despite the fact that she can't stomach their food. Her parents know exactly how to manipulate her into feeding their food addiction. Her father is an intimidating man when he gets angry though he has never and will never lay a harsh finger on his only child but her mother is another story. She, like her husband, wouldn't dare cause physical pain to her daughter but she will rip her apart emotionally if necessary. Subconsciously, she seems to depend on it. She visits home every single day to help take care of them knowing that they're never going to change.
She, by most standards, has some sort of eating disorder or at least issue but she wouldn't admit it if you held a gun to her head. She believes that she's just making sure that she remains as healthy as she is right now.
