Boy was this dorm a mess! Mark nearly tripped on all of his things. There was clothes, Dunkin Donuts cups on the floor and everything was out of order in general. However, he had a large box of pizza and sodas inside of his mini fridge. He couldn't possibly eat the whole box and liked to share which is why he invited Keisha over. She was probably the only person who understood the mess in his room. Still, Mark didn't want to be a total hot mess and therefore he began picking up as much as he could.
He basically stashed everything in his closet and threw the trash out. Mark nearly tripped up the stairs as he came back from outside. "oof," A sigh of relief came out of Mark's mouth because Keisha hadn't appeared all of a sudden like the ninja she was. His dorm looked pretty decent now. All he had to do was wait but meanwhile he started putting his class work away. Mr. Corrigan had made record with all the physics homework he left. But Mark was a smart cookie and he knew what he was doing unlike most of the time.

Keisha really, really loved food. Like, she almost loved food more than her family, and her family is pretty great. She also loved the fact that she gained little to no weight. That was pretty great.
Anyway, pizza was pretty much the best, even cold pizza, so of course she was going to Mark's dorm at midnight (even though that's illegal, but nobody really cares). She didn't have anything better do to, except, like, sleep, but who did that anymore?
She was actually in pajamas. From 5pm-5am was her pajama wearing time. Unless she was getting it. But she doubted she was getting it.
She didn't bring her turtle because Kanye was sleeping, and disturbing him just wasn't right. She was about to knock, only to find the door was already open. Ratchet-ass he could've been murdered or visited by someone who was uninvited. That just wasn't right.

When Mark heard the knock on his door, he got up from his bed then walked over to open the door. He slowly opened it before looking and seeing that it was Keisha. He smiled brightly before opening it wider then saying, "Come in..." he rose an eyebrow.
"Hey where's Kanye?" he asked her, looking around as if the turtle could have been he didn't know, maybe walking behind her and probably going to walk in any second. "The pizza isn't really that cold and there's some soda cans in the mini fridge." he said before opening the box.
Mark was in his pajamas too. Well, basically his pajama pants which were just his plaid pj pants the rest was the sweatshirt he had worn to class today. The sweatshirt he usually wore everyday.

Elaine had planned to stay in the for night. Then again, when did she ever go out, anyway? Nonetheless, she was hungry and pizza sounded delicious. Plus, it had been quite a while since she spent time with her best friend, Mark Daniels. He was busy with football and class presidency and she was hooked up in marching band practice and playing for his football games. Needless to say, that had a lot of catching up to do.
Her hair was still damp from her shower just minutes ago. Mark had texted her while she was drying herself with a towel and well, there were no rules about walking around in your dorm naked, were there? Not even bothering with make up, she quickly put on a bra and an oversized sweater with faded blue leggings before throwing her phone and wallet into her bag. At the door, she slipped on a pair of gray flats and headed down the hall for Mark's dorm.
Just as a double heads up, Elaine texted Mark that she'd arrived before she actually knocked on his door. Normally, she would've just barged in. Privacy was nonexisitent between them. However, there were rumors going around and well, it just didn't feel right to let herself in so she waited outside.

Sometimes, Mark liked to reflect on everything he's done. From his successes to his flaws. Sure, outside, he made people believe that he was confident and a little, overwhelming. However, when he was alone, he was different person. Almost melancholic. Like they said, the funniest people are the saddest and it was true in Mark's case.
He didn't know what he was missing. Maybe it was a reason. He was nothing more but a clown, an intelligent and ambitious clown. Friendly, too. People seemed to like him. Some more than others. He remembered when everything was so simple. When he was called tropical chunky and he lived in Hawaii. Yes, he missed those times dearly.
When he heard the knock on the door, Mark rose up from his bed where he was lying on his stomach and walked toward the door. He was wearing navy colored hoodie with the white zipper, a black t-shirt underneath and straight fit jeans. "Hey!" he said with a bright smile before tilting his head.
That's strange, Elaine didn't just walk in and welcomed herself as she used to. Did she know about what had happened? They had stopped seeing each other two weeks ago. "Why didn't you just walk in?" he asked her, motioning for her to come in before closing the door behind him.

Standing outside a male's dorm room was indeed awkward, but thank goodness no one was there at the time. Elaine greeted him with a smile and a small wave. "Hiya!" she quipped enthusiastically. There was just something about the sight of her long-time friend that made all her stress and worries go away. That, and the intoxicating aroma of tomato sauce and cheese on a thick crust. "I wanted to be a civilized human being for once," she joked in response to his question. There was no good way to say how she really felt.
"So!" she began, jumping onto his bed butt-first and dangling her legs that weren't long enough to touch the ground. "What kind of pizza and what movie?" she asked, tossing her shoulder bag somewhere on the floor. Elaine and Mark spent numerous nights in his dorm eating and watching Netflix or Redbox. As much as she loved exploring the city, sometimes it was just as fun, if not more, to snuggle up with a good movie and a best friend.

Mark smiled small as he looked to Elaine. His eyes looked a tad sad but it was probably because he missed her so much. It was the nostalgia, really. Or maybe because she made him smile more than the usual, like he was smiling now. "Since when are you a civilized human, cave woman?" he teased, smiling closed before taking the box of pizza. "I got your favorite!" he placed in on the bed before walking to the minifridge and taking two cans of soda.
He then took a seat on the bed as well and handed her her soda. It was difficult to pretend that everything was fine and even if they both knew it wasn't, they were sure good at hiding it. "Let's watch... Madea's Family Reunion." he handed her his laptop so she could pick a movie if she hasn't like the one he had suggested.
"I'm so rude I didn't even ask how you were!" Mark said before taking a slice of pizza and biting it. The pizza was still good, he supposed.

Elaine opened her mouth as if offended by being called a cave woman and then closed it, as if accepting the truth. "Since never! Ooga booga!" she cried before leaning down to chomp lightly on his arm. Sitting up straight again, she studied Mark as he brought the pizza and soda towards her. "You look like you've been watching Hachi and sobbing to yourself," she commented. Elaine knew he had a soft spot for animals and so did she--that's why she refused to watch Hachi even though she already knew what it was about.
She looked down at his laptop and gave a half smile. "Need a laugh, huh?" she asked softly. Reaching for a slice of pizza for herself, Elaine allowed herself to chew before speaking. "I've been good. Same old, same old. How have you been?" she asked him in return.
Since it wasn't her room, she was extra careful when she ate. Even if Mark was messy, she certainly did not want to add to it. Once she had her fill, Elaine washed it all down with soda, wiped her fingers and mouth on a napkin, and scooted to the center of the bed.

It was more than true, Elaine could always bring a smile and even a chuckle out of Mark. He looked to her before raising eyebrow, "Ooga booga?" he laughed the continued eating his slice. She was so quirky it made him feel all warm inside and the shape of his mouth could not keep still. Whether his smile was closed or open.
"Are you saying I look emo... Today, I had my coffee black like my inside." Mark said dramatically as if he were apathetic and sorrowful. He then took sip from his soda, "I am in need of a laugh. But I can laugh at you, not with you." Mark laughed ever so posh before saying, "Just kidding!"
After eating almost half of the pizza box, Mark moved in closer to her. It was a habit. They usually cuddled while watching movies. Today, he felt like he needed to rest his head somewhere other than his pillow. He leaned in and gently rested it on top of her shoulder, whereas he was almost laying down. One of his hands was on her stomach while the other was down in the middle where the laptop was on both their laps. Mark shifted his eyes up to look at her face.
The profile of his face was one of his favorite features of her because she looked so damn independent like she didn't need no man to take care of her because she could do bad all by herself. The fullness of her lips, her eyes — everything. Boy was he ever dumb to let her go two weeks ago! For morals, what morals? Mark had the morality of any other whore in this school.
He just had a better way of hiding it. Which made him all the more hypocritical. Mark, however, didn't think being in a relationship was in his agenda. He has so much going on that he had barely anytime to think. To think like he was doing now, in the peacefulness of Elaine's presence.
