Jeremy wrapped his arm around her shoulders and pulled her in to kiss her forehead. He'd be a fool to believe that he could quit her even for a second. He was way too in love with her. And because he was in love with her, he would love and care for her child as well. It was inevitable.
He paused for a moment just holding her, taking the calm for just a second. He didn't like fighting with her, especially not over something so important like that. She'd looked like she was going to cry at some point. He never wanted to argue with her, but at least it hadn't resulted in one of them storming off or yelling or something. They'd handled it in a mature fashion, and he was glad he could at least say that.
"Want to go to Fox's?" He asked her, pulling away to look down at her face. "You've probably been to the one in Manhattan, but it's a clothing store. Charity likes it. I take her there whenever she comes to see me..." he pursed his lips. He lived in Brooklyn Heights and he knew that area better than he knew the Midwood area where they were now. "Or um...we could go to the Botanic Garden, since it's only like..." he looked down at his phone on the table, "Two and they don't close until six so..." he shrugged. "I probably should have thought this far ahead, but..." He smiled at her and pressed his lips against her temple. Both places he'd suggested would be about a twenty minute walk, and if she didn't feel like walking they could take the subway or a cab, but he preferred to walk.
Before she'd told him all of this, he'd actually been thinking they could go back to the apartment and she could meet the guys. Or at least Alex, who would more than likely be home. Ben was probably with his girlfriend, and he said he knew Avery from school, and the chances of Charity being at the apartment were pretty slim seeing as she only ever came over anymore when her roommate kicked her out. But he didn't want to bring Avery around under these...circumstances. Of course, he wasn't sure if it'd be better for them to meet her knowing she's pregnant, or to meet her before and not be predisposed... He thought on that for a second, and then decided that they would talk about that later. Maybe Avery didn't even want to meet Alex and his sister today, because he wasn't the only one who'd had a difficult conversation just now.

Avery was genuinely glad that their little fight was over. Fighting with Jeremy was never easy, especially because Avery already felt like she had to prove herself to him, being as she was so young. The idea that he could easily find someone his own age never left her mind. "Either one is fine with me. As long as I'm with you," She smiled and pecked his cheek, before deciding she should probably choose one option. Most guys don't like when a girl can't pick something. Or atleast that had been her experience. "I've never been to the Botanic Garden, that sounds like it could be fun!" so short but i finally replied!!

((It's okay, I always get excited when I see you've replied))
"Botanic Gardens it is, my lady," Jeremy said with a smile before leaving a tip on the table and then taking out his phone to google maps the best route as they got up to leave. He knew the city pretty well, but not enough that he was positive he wouldn't get them both lost. "Walking good?" He asked her as he took her hand once they hit the sidewalk. Everyone walked in the city. It's just what you did. Of course if you were traveling between boroughs, it'd probably be wise to catch a cab or take the subway, but for the most part walking was always your best bet.
Being only October, it wasn't too cold outside. About 65 if he had to guess, and he had a light jacket on that he could give to Avery if she were to get cold since she was only in a dress. Looking at his phone now, he realized that the gardens were actually a bit further than he'd originally thought. "You know what?" He laughed a little a stopped walking. "We should probably take a cab. I mean...unless you want to walk for an hour." Guessing her answer to that was going to be no, he stuck his hand out when he saw a cab coming and when it stopped the two of them got in.
Once they got there and he paid the admission for them, he was immediately glad she'd picked this. It was easy to put their argument out of mind when he was somewhere so beautiful. He didn't want to believe that they were in the situation that they were with Avery being pregnant, but it was what it was. He knew there was really no point in him pretending that his mind wasn't already made up — no matter what the guys said, he was going to end up staying with her. He would be a father to that child because he really did love her. You stay with the people you love, end of story.
"I'm glad we're spending time together again," he said as they walked along in the garden. "It's always so weird seeing you at school and not being able to do anything about it."

"An hour? I think that for the sake of my feet we should definitely take a cab," Avery smiled. The cab ride was thankfully much shorter than an hour and much easier than walking. Plus, being as Avery didn't exactly dress for the weather, it was too chillly out to be walking. She wasn't cold. but more than likely she would be, had they walked all the way to the gardens.
Once they were inside, Avery glanced around. It really was beautiful. She'd heard a lot about this place before since her time in New York began, but it hadn't really ever interested her. Her high school career consisted of more partying and boys than it did exploring the actual city.
She smiled and clutched Jeremy's arm. "I'm really glad too." Jeremy seemed to be looking past the fight, and she was grateful. Whether Jeremy would stay with her through this or not, Avery wasn't sure, but she could only hope that she knew him well enough to guess that he'd stick around. He was a good guy. "It's terrible being at school all the time. I feel like I see you all the time when I can't do anything. I just want to run up to you and hug you and kiss you, but.. I can't. It's terrible." She shrugged. "I'm just glad I get this time with you."

Jeremy smiled, "Really any time with you is amazing for me. You know I wanted you the minute I saw you, right?" It was a little embarrassing to admit, but it was true. Jeremy was head over heels the second he saw that pretty little blonde thing at that kickback.
She was sitting in the back of someone's truck, swinging her barefeet and laughing with some little twelve year old he later learned was actually fifteen and ended up being a sophomore in one of his classes. The band had just finished their set, and Ben pointed out that he'd been staring at that girl the entire time. "Why don't you go talk to her?" Ben had said with a little nudge. Jeremy shook his head and turned his back to the pretty girl and tried to act like he was tuning his guitar. "She's way out of my league, man. No way." Ben laughed, "Dude, no she's not! I belieeeeeve in you, Jeremiah! I believe!" "I've got a girlfriend, man," he said. It was true. He'd been dating Jessica Meyer for the past six months, and she was actually the band manager. Thankfully she decided not to come tonight, or else he would be dead for merely making eye contact with this girl. "Man, fuck that bitch," Alex came waltzing over in the middle of the conversation. "Are we coaching Jeremy again in the art of talking to girls?" He asked, looking over at the girl. Being the natural flirt he was, he waved and gave her a wink. She and her friend were standing in the truck bed, swinging their hips and singing their hearts out. "She's cute. If you're too much of a pansy, I'll consider her free game." Jeremy's head shot up and he pushed Alex back to get his attention. "I never said she was free game, dick." He laughed, "What? So you're calling dibs?" He shrugged, "Yeah, I guess so." He felt weird saying that about someone he didn't know, but he didn't want Alex to have a chance with her. Knowing him, he'd just sleep with her and leave as soon as he was finished. He could just tell by the look of this girl that she was too good for that. "Talk to her then!" Ben urged again, and turned him around to walk him over to the girls. He tried resisting, but Ben didn't let him get away. "Play cool, you freak." He said only low enough so only Jeremy could hear, but still audible over the loud music.
When they reached the singing girls, Benji looked up at them and hollered, "How about an autograph for your biggest fan, Aves?" He said to the blonde. She laughed and jumped off the truck, standing just inches from Jeremy's face now. His heart was pounding and he thought he was going to pass out. How could he be acting like this when he was supposedly in love with another girl? Was this cheating? He tried not to feel like he was cheating since he only thought she was pretty, but the day dreams already running through his head didn't seem to be so innocent. "Anything for the fans," she said in a voice that sounded like the most beautiful song he'd ever heard. She grabbed a marked from the table with the red cups and beer and wrote her name and number in the palm of his hand. He looked down at his hand. Avery Fuller. He had a goofy grin on his face when he looked back up at her. "Th-Thanks," he was blushing when he turned back around when Ben, who started to laugh.
"What's so funny?" He asked him. "Nothing it's just...I probably should have told you she's in high school." Jeremy stopped dead and looked at him. "Oh, don't be so surprised. You're at a high school party." He sighed and continued walking back over to the stage so they could get ready for their next set. "Why did you make me talk to her then?" He shrugged and picked up his drum sticks. "Because I'm an asshole."
He wrapped his arm around her shoulders so her hand crossed her chest, "Haven't stopped thinking about you since." He smiled down at her and kissed the top of her head.

Avery remembered that night.
She'd been dancing in the bed of someone's truck - she couldn't remember who's - with Carol. They were a bit on, which really wasn't unusual for them. The girls were singing and laughing and soaking in the attention. She'd heard of the band that was playing, since they played a lot of parties that went on around SHS. Carol had said that the guys had been giving her what she called "sex eyes" but Avery didn't believe it. She tried a casual over-the -shoulder glance, but it was hard to see all the way over there. She brushed it off. Guys never really gave her good attention anyways. A couple of guys approached them, and one was pretty cute. He seemed quiet, which wasn't usually her type, but Avery didn't hesitate to give him her number. And now look.
"Giving you my number was probably the best decision of my life, Jeremy." Avery smiled and snaked her arm around his waist as they walked.

"Mine, too," Jeremy said with a smile. That night had been one of the best of his life. Well. Part of it was anyway.
Jessica had gone ballistic that night when he got home. She tried to force him to wash the number off of his hand, even though he told her she was just a friend. It wasn't entirely true, but it wasn't like anything had happened between them. He didn't even know Avery at the time! "How could you do this to me, Jeremiah?" Jess slurred as she took another sip of wine and cried harder. "I didn't do anything! She's just a high school girl! She plays guitar and she wanted to learn bass so she asked me for lessons! That's it!" He was surprised at himself for coming up with a lie so quickly. He didn't normally lie to anyone, especially not a partner. She cried more, "That's bullshit! Why is there a heart by her name?" He shrugged, "Maybe she likes hearts, I don't know!"
He walked back to the bedroom of their one room apartment in the Bronx. It was a piece of shit apartment, but he didn't have enough money to pay for a better one by himself. Jessica refused to work, thinking the managing the band was enough. He would be okay with that thought, if she actually did anything. She was supposed to be finding them a record label, but all she ever did was stay home and drink. He worked two jobs — a hotel manager and a bartender, not even counting private lessons whenever he got the chance — just trying to support them. She'd move in after a month of being together, because she said she loved him. ANd being who he was, he believed her.
"Wash it off, or I'll do it for you," Jessica said to him with his back turned. "What are you talking about?" he asked, taking off his shirt. When he looked back at her, she was holding a bottle of bleach in one hand and his phone in the other. He rolled his eyes, "What are you doing?" "Wash. It. Off." She threw his iphone across the room, smashing it against the wall. "Are you fucking crazy?" He went over to check his phone, but it was clearly gone. She cried louder, sounding like a beached whale. "Don't call me names, Jeremiah! Wash that slut's number off!" "You don't even know her!" Hearing him defend the girl she didn't know, Jessica screamed and threw the open bottle of bleach at him. Some of it splashed out and got him in the eyes, nearly blinding him.
After that, everything was a big blur. He woke up the next morning in Ben's room at his parents' house with a hospital bracelet on his wrist. Apparently the fight had gotten worse and and Jessica had tried to strangle him when he couldn't even see. One of their neighbors called the police and he was taken away in an ambulance. When he was at the hospital, he called Ben instead of his parents, not wanting to scare them. Jeremy couldn't believe that Jessica would do something so crazy. That was never her. She'd always been so sweet to him. A little controlling and jealous, but he figured that was only because she loved him so much. Alex and Ben tried to get him to dump her and press charges, but he didn't. You don't do that to someone you love. But that still didn't stop him from getting his phone fixed and keeping in contact with Avery. He thought he loved Jessica, but this was still not a girl he was prepared to let go of.
Jeremy didn't like thinking about his past with Jessica. They'd finally called it quits three months ago after he found out she was sleeping with someone else. Crushing on a then unattainable girl was nothing compared to full blown infidelity. That fight had ended with a black eye and busted lip for him, but at least he wouldn't have to see her anymore. That was when he and Alex moved in together and secured a teaching job with Somerset. Soon after, he was with Avery and she was the best person he'd ever had in his life. "You're amazing, you know that?" He was pretty sure he'd told her that a hundred million times, but he wanted to make sure she knew it. So what if she was in the sitation she was in. Avery would never hit him. Avery would never call him stupid or break his phone or ever try to hurt him in any way. She was beautiful and lovely and the perfect girl for him. They'd make it over this little bump in the road, no sweat.

"Amazing? Hmmm... I don't know about that one." Avery smiled and squeezed tighter around his waist for a moment. The last few weeks had really been amazing for Avery. Jeremy was really something special. Since being at Somerset, he was really the first guy to actually pay her any positive attention. Jonathan had started to, but that clearly fell apart in no time. He was cheating on her practically the moment they got together, and then he had a baby with another girl, and left Avery for Esme. Surely it made sense to those two, but Avery never really let it go.
Jeremy never pushed her into anything, and he didn't even seem to think about sex. Not that she'd mind if he did, because she would be willing to try just about anything with Jeremy. They'd been getting along great and he was handling the baby news well too. This had been their first real fight and it wasn't even a big deal. She knew that they'd easily be able to get through it and create a little family.
"I'd say that you're pretty amazing, Jeremy." Avery leaned up to kiss him on the cheek before gazing around the garden. "I've lived in New York for two years and I've never been here. I can't believe I missed out on this."

Jeremy laughed, "Me? No. But you? Definitely. You're the definition of amazing, baby!" He really loved using pet names for Avery, because it made him feel like she was really his. None of his past relationships ever let him use names like baby or honey, especially not Jessica. The fact that Avery's past with guys was so rough made no sense to him. He'd never told her about how Jess was with him, because he didn't want to upset her. But when she told him about all of her stuff...it was like his poor girl was always getting screwed over! First there was that annoying rich kid Kegan Conley with his fifty fucking kid — one of Avery's friends took him — then some guy named Wyatt Parks who was constantly keeping Carol Maree late from his class — he used her for sex — and then that Fucktard Jonathan Russel. Jeremy really hated that guy. He almost never showed up to class, and when he did, he was completely disrespectful. He wished he could just kick his ass for what he did to Avery, without even seeming to care! Whatever. None of that mattered, because he was with her now. Those guys were stupid to lose someone as amazing as Avery, and he knew one day they'd realize it. But they would never get a chance with her, because she was his now, and he was the luckiest man in all of New York.
"How have you not been here? It's gorgeous! I come here sometimes to think, you know?" He loved nature and fresh air, but there wasn't very much of that in city life. It wasn't like he could go to Central Park or something everyday, and that place was overrated anyway. He didn't care that he had to pay to get into the gardens. He just loved being surrounded by such beauty. "It's still not a beautiful as you, though," Jeremy said with a wink. It was cheesy, but true. He could look at Avery every second of the day and never get tired of it.

"I've always heard of it but I've never actually come down. It's beautiful," Avery agreed, then blushed when he made the comment about her being beautiful herself. "You're so sweet," Avery smiled and leaned up again to kiss his lips this time.
"So how does this work?" The park seemed pretty big, and Avery wasn't sure where to go, or if there were certain areas set up, or... what. "What do I have to see before we leave?"
