When Derek had invited Shana to his dorm she thought he was joking. Surely she had thought that but him being serious somewhat surprised her. Nevertheless, Shana pursed her lips together before bringing two fingers to her eyes then pointed them at him, "I'm watching you, Mathaw." she was quoting Monsters Inc.
"As friends? But, when have we not been friends?" Shana didn't exactly completely see him as an enemy. If they could tolerate their presence for so long, they are bound to be friends.
"We are friends, Derek. We just have a funny way of showing it." she nodded before taking a drink from her bottle of iced tea. "You can lead the way since I have the slightest clue of the halls and such." Shoshana didn't have much friends, not many that lived here.

Derek just smiled when she quoted Monsters Inc. It was pretty funny, how she didn't trust him. Going to his dorm wasn't some sort of strange invitation - he just wanted to hang out, honestly. He raised his right hand she tried to look very somber. "Scouts honor, I'm not up to anything." He swore, but didn't mention that he had never been a boy scout - she didn't have to know that.
"Can you blame me for wondering if we're actually friends? I mean, you seem so adverse to me all the time." He was joking - of course he knew they were friends. "No, really, we're great friends. The best of friends. I mean, Shana, baby, you're awesome," he nudged her in the ribs with his elbow, gently. "We really do have a funny way of showing how we're friends," he chuckled and took a swig of his soda. Walking down the hallway, he motioned for her to follow. "My dorm is just around the corner."

Shana doubted that this sir was ever a boy scout. She couldn't picture him- Wait a minute, actually she could; wearing those silly shorts and scarf around his neck, posing ever so coolly and trying to be all big shot among a group of scrawny, or chubby short kids. Derek being the tallest, of course. She began to laugh out of nowhere, "Sorry, I just had this mental picture of you being a group of boy-" she continued laughing, "Carry on now, I trust you." Shana did trust him, she was just making a big fuzz because she was usually very uptight, as one could see.
She hugged herself after he elbowed her ribs, she gave him a playful glare. "Baby?" Shana lowered her eyebrows as she looked to him gently, "Wait, wait, let's not go that far, dear." she emphasized on that before laughing jubilantly. "Kidding." she followed him around and nodded when he said his dorm was close by. "It's a little strange, don't you think? I am two years younger than you." Shana nodded quickly before looking up to him. Wait, that means that when he graduates this year... He'd be gone. Suddenly, her stomach sank.

Derek scrunched up his nose and stuck his tongue out at her when she laughed, trying to look resentful. From what she said, she was picturing him as a little boy scout, and the image that came to his head was even more embarrassing. He was a scrawny little dude, and never could figure out how to camp. Him, as any sort of scout, would be ridiculous. "Don't laugh at me," he whined, a little embarrassed. "I hope you know I was never actually a boy scout?" He pointed out, stiffly. He hated thinking of his childhood - he was such a dork back then. It wasn't until he started playing on the lacrosse team and developed muscles that he got popular.
"Hmm, dear doesn't have the same ring to it as Master Derek. I think I've earned the title - I am the one with the air conditioning in my fabulous dorm room." As they walked towards his dorm hall, he smiled down at her (even though she wasn't that much shorter than he). "Right, right, I forgot," he said, laughing. "You're just a kid, aren't ya? Maybe I shouldn't hang out with a youngster like you," he joked, opening the door to the hallway for her. "My dorm's just right here," he said, opening yet another door. "Would you like to come inside, dear?"

"I am very sorry. I couldn't have ever pictured you as a Boy Scout while you were young. Present day, on the other hand, is even more hilarious because seeing you in a group of smaller children is quite hilarious." she laughed once more for a few seconds before she calmed down and smiled brightly. "We've never spoken about our childhoods, have we?" Shana asked him while raising a brow.
"How about— we both share the title?" she asked with a few bats to her eyelashes. He may not have been incredibly taller than her but Shana still had to look up to his face. "Face it, dear, we're both pretty good at being great but — shh," Shana paused before putting her index finger to her lips, "Don't ever tell anyone that I admitted it." she winked coyly before nodding, "Don't mind if I do..." she accepted before walking into his dorm.
While walking in, Shana continued talking, "Our age has nothing to do with the fact that we get along. And you never told me to bug off, aren't the older ones supposed to know right from wrong?" she asked him before setting down her bag then pushing her hair back before knitting her eyebrows. "Do you mind?" she referred if he minded if she took off her blazer.

Derek rolled his eyes and ignored the boy scout comment. It wasn't that it offended him - it was actually pretty funny when he thought about it. It was just that he didn't want to talk about it. Laughing at himself wasn't on his agenda at all, and laughing about himself with Shana would be mortifying. When she mentioned they didn't talk about their childhoods, he shrugged. "No reason to, really. I mean, do you really want to know about how fabulous I was when I was little?" He grinned, teasing again. He didn't want her to know the real truth - he was gawky, idiotic, and had a crooked nose (that was fixed now).
Following Shana into the dorm, he smiled at her batting eyelashes. She looked adorable when she did that - but totally not convincing. "Nice try, sweet cheeks," he teased. "I'm the master of the moment, at least. Maybe that is how the title should go - whoever's the Master at the moment gets the title. Since its my dorm and my AC, I'll go by Master Derek to you." He sat down on his bed and gestured for her to take a seat. He figured she'd take the desk chair but he sort of wondered... would she sit with him, on his bed, alone, in his dorm? "Oh, so you think I'm good at being great, too, hmm?" That was interesting... he never thought she'd admit his greatness!
"Sure, take off whatever you need to," he winked when she asked about taking off the jacket. "And you're right, age doesn't normally matter. But, when it comes to who's greater, I think it should be based on age. I mean, I have more experience in life and I've had way more time to be awesome. You haven't had enough time, right?"
