Appearance: Roderick is five feet, eleven inches tall. He'd hoped to grow the extra inch to reach six-feet-oh, but it didn't happen. He weighs approximately 170 lbs with a lean, yet muscular build, thanks to his personal trainer who keeps him on a strict diet. Regardless, Roderick loves to sneak out for fast food and desserts Order your own pizza though, because this guy can finish one by himself.
They say what you put into your body is what you get out of it. Roderick is a fine example of this. His short brown hair, tanned skin, and neatly trimmed nails are in tip top condition. His big brown eyes are his most prominent feature, especially because he is almost always seen with his eyebrows slightly raised as if constantly surprised and/or interested.
Roderick prefers to wear clothing without a visible logo. He hates that things are more expensive just because somebody slapped a name across the front. Despite the fact that he could afford any designer merchandise he wished, the only name brand items Roderick actually owns are the ones he receives as gifts from family friends. His style of clothing is mostly, but not restricted to t-shirts, jeans, and jackets.
Personality:
With a cute face like his, it's hard to believe that Roderick is usually the guy in the background, but he likes it that way. He's the one always playing wingman for his friends, yet never expects the same in return. You could say he's holding out for the right person. He admires his parents' relationship and hopes to find someone who would love him even if he had nothing but the clothes on his back.
Roderick is a very easy going, go-with-the-flow kind of guy. He is also smart and hard-working, traits that he learned from his father. Patient, kind, and never stingy—he always has time or a dollar to spare for those who need it. He doesn't smoke, drink, or do drugs, In fact, he's never tried. Some guys look at him and laugh, calling him a prude and other demeaning names, but Roderick could care less. He has his priorities straight, and getting wasted isn't one of them.
One of his biggest pet peeves is starting something and not finishing it therefore, he sees things through and never makes a promise he cannot keep. He gets along with everyone (or tries to) and avoids unnecessary conflict. Outside of school and basketball, Roderick also enjoys art and music. He also has a growing interest in cars and despite not being able to drive yet, he can do regular maintenance like changing the oil in every car the Hastings own.

Roderick is the second child and only son of Shaun and Breanna Hastings. Don't let their wealth fool you, Shaun is not rich by inheritance. He is actually a rather successful neurosurgeon. who worked his way up from the very bottom, growing up in a poor family of six. This allowed Breanna to follow her dreams as an interior designer working from home. Roderick's older sister, Arlene, followed in their father's footsteps and recently graduated from medical school to become an anesthesiologist.
Growing up in the Hastings household wasn't very hard. The children had everything they needed and more, but their parents made sure they didn't forget where they came from. Roderick had to earn the things he wanted and they didn't believe in maids or butlers, so Arlene and Roderick had chores just like any normal kid would. Of course, they enjoyed some of the finer things in life, like a cotillion for Arlene's eighteenth birthday or the brand new M3 in the garage waiting for Roderick to pass his driver's test.
Born and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Roderick's family moved to New York when his father was offered an even better paying position at one of their hospitals. The distance wasn't drastic, but the congested population took some getting used to. Regardless, Roderick has already fallen in love with the city and its people, especially at his new school.
