Yes, her mother really did give her 'Cricket' as her middle name and it means loud insect of the night. Why? She was nine months pregnant and had no middle name set so she told her younger sister, Isabel to look online and she found the name Cricket and both sisters found it so hysterical that they had to do it.

Julianne has always been 'cute'. She's never been considered sexy or anything of the like and she doesn't necessarily mind that. Cute lasts much longer than sexy, right? She has a style all her own - one day she's in a dress and heels and the next she's wearing a pair of jeans and sneakers. She's never been the type to have a set anything so her clothing choices are no exception. She favors her father's side of the family in appearance which is why she and Isabel don't look much a like at all.
She doesn't dress to attract male attention nor could she ever see herself doing that. She wears the things that she does because she wants it to be known that she has a body and that she's proud of it. She has never once felt insecure about her figure because she believes that people come in all shapes and sizes and each of them is beautiful. It's not about the wrapping, it's about the present inside.
Personality:
Julianne is spontaneous to the point of recklessness. She's the type of girl that changes the plans at the last second and gets you into situations that you could never imagine yourself being in. She often gets herself into trouble because of this but she's also had a lot of fun times. How could she forget the time when she and Isabel drove down to Vegas and sneaked into a night club when she was fourteen? They were thrown out, of course, but it's still something that they talk about often though not in the company of any of her parents except Patrick who heard the story and beamed with pride.
She has a desperate desire to be loved by men. All men. She typically goes for older guys and she would never admit that it's the fact that she feels rejected by the one man who was suppose to love her.
Background:
Eleanor (Elle) Mason always had great potential and a good head on her shoulders so when she came home from law school with Patrick Robins, it was a shock. Patrick wanted to be a musician and he had dropped out of high school to pursue his dreams. The pair met at one of his concerts at a local club and she said that it was love at first sight. He brought out her wild side and she honestly believed that they would be one of those couples who beats the odds but fate stepped in.
Elle discovered that she was pregnant with Julianne when she was four months along. She'd ignored the lack of period and blamed school stress and her nausea was easily explained as well - they were touring at the time and she had always gotten a little carsick so she decided that it must just be the fact that they were on a cheap rented RV going from one dirty venue to another. She told Patrick right before one of his shows and he sang 'you're having my baby' with his band and announced that his beautiful girlfriend had just told him that they were expecting a baby together which gave her an indescribable amount of hope for their little family.
They spent the majority of her pregnancy today and even decided that their daughter's middle name would be 'Abrielle' after Patrick's mother but she discovered the truth one evening when she walked in on him with another woman which was bad in itself but he was obviously wasted and had been doing drugs which she couldn't accept. They had a baby on the way! It was time to grow up so she left him and went home to her parents' house and explained the situation.
They welcomed her back home with open arms and it wasn't long before Julianne Cricket Mason was born. Elle often worried that Julianne would feel less important and like something was missing from her life because she lacked the support of her biological father but she had so much more. She had loving her aunts, grandparents and uncle! How could she need anything else? She was five and a half when Elle met her now husband, Paul who came in and made her realize why things had never worked with anyone else.
He took Elle and Julianne to a movie and out to ice cream for their first date because he wanted to get to know both of them. He wanted to be the father that he believed that Julianne deserved and he was. He became 'daddy' within four months of the couple dating and he involved her in his proposal to Elle when she was seven. The couple was wed at a small ceremony just the three of them shortly before Julianne's eighth birthday and they explained to her that they were moving to Los Angeles.
She didn't exactly understand the rush but they went to Disneyland and that was all that she could think about. The reason? Patrick had been sniffing around and Elle knew that she needed to protect her daughter from him. He was still on drugs and still living the wild unstable life despite the fact that he swore that he wanted to know his child. He was just going to disappoint her in the end even if he promised that he wouldn't.
Elle and Paul welcomed three children of their own into the family and life really just rocked. Julianne showed a lot of her father in her especially as she got older. She had his determination and his musical talent.. She was exactly like him which worried Elle who believed that the spontaneous nature was going to get her into serious trouble one day just as it did her father. Patrick found the couple last fall and convinced Elle to give him a chance to be a father well .. Julianne did.
She was horrified to discover that her mother had hid him from her and she decided that she wanted to move back to New York and get to know him but it was conditional for her to go. Her mother decided that she could go but only if she attended Somerset and lived on campus so her aunt, Isabel could keep an eye on her and make sure that she wasn't skipping school to hang out with the devil himself.
