About My Character:
Full Name: Dorian Oscar Moore
Age: Seventeen. 14th December
Gender: Male, thought he'd rather not be.
Grade: Junior
Sports/Clubs: Hahahaha. No.
Appearance: HEIGHT: Dorian is unusually short for his age. Standing at just over five-five he's never been one of the tallest of his class. He doesn't mind though, he likes the fact he has to look up to people and certainly compensates for his stature with his attitude. Plus those ridiculous heels give him an extra boost.
WEIGHT: Dorian is of average weight for his height, except because he's short he does look a little scrawny compared to every other guy in the school. He's a healthy eater, keeping a pretty balanced diet – but who can say no to Maccy D's every now and then? He's pretty good at exercising and keeping fit, and especially goes out to the sports fields (if only to watch the other guys)
OVERALL BODY: Although he's not too bothered about the fact he's short, nor really about the shape of his body (recently he's just disappointed he doesn't have nice hips) he becomes a little self-conscious when people point it out or try and make fun of him, but he soon pushes them back down. Overall, aside from being a little short, he's pretty much just normal.
EYES: Dorian has dark boring green eyes. There's nothing overly special about them, and he doesn't really spend enough time looking at them to care. He has always wanted blue eyes and still sort of does; though he doesn't think they would fit in with the rest of his face. He has perfect vision, but looking at needles and threads so closely for such a long time is leading him to believe that will soon change,
HAIR: Dorian has long peroxide blonde hair that's always kept in the right place with enough hair products for Dorian to start his own hair care company. But the work pays off and it's always soft and shimmery like in those cheesy commercials – it just goes to show that after trying everything you find the one that really works. Dorian would recommend TRESemmé.
OVERALL FACE: Dorian used to pray every day to never grow facial hair, and luckily for him, it never happened. He covers his face every morning with a smooth layer of foundation. He uses dark eye-liner, bright lipstick or bright eye shadow. Something that makes him stand out above every one else.
PIERCINGS: Dorian only has his ears pierced. He used to have his lip pierced but quickly took it out and doesn't really want any more. He isn't attracted to piercings as most people would think and he's even contemplating getting rid of the ones in his ears as well..
TATTOOS: Dorian has one tattoo of a love heart on his left hip, it was drawn on by his mother and has a little K woven into the design just for her. He also has the Vivienne Westwood logo on the back of his neck, he's waiting to meet her in person so he can get her signature tattooed underneath. Other than that he doesn't have any, and doesn't feel the need to get any more just yet – though he may in the future.
UNUSUAL: He has a small scar on his knee from when he fell on some glass at four years old. He has a longer one down his left thigh from falling off a horse and onto a wooden fence and there is a small mark on the bridge of his nose from archery – no one warned him that you can pull the bow back too fast!
PERSONAL STYLE: Dorian loves to spend cold winter nights in oversized sweaters, tights and fluffy boots. When he's out with his friends he always dresses to impress. He has more than enough 'little black dresses' and too many pairs of shoes to count.
Personality: AFFECTIONATE: Being on his own so often you would think Dorian was cold and distant, but no. He's always craving attention and is far too affectionate for his own good. He is always hanging off someone's arm and brushing their hair out of their eyes. He adores cuddles and just curling up with someone. But he doesn't ever show what side of him unless he's completely comfortable.
FORGIVING: Dorian hates this side of him, but he can never hold a grudge. Not really. The longest he went was about three days. He's always the first to give in and apologise and if anyone gets a chance to apologise to him first he forgives them straight away. No matter what they have done.
EXPANSIVE: Generally friendly and easy to talk to, Dorian isn't ruling the school after doing nothing. He works hard to make sure he knows everyone and it very able to step in for someone's defence. He doesn't particularly like people who are rude and bully others and he always tries to fix up any issues people have with each other.
CONTROLLING: Probably his worst trait. Unless you know him more than a fired, Dorian is controlling and he knows he has the power to determine most social outcomes. He is manipulative to the max and only just manages to stay far enough away so that when things get messy he isn't to blame.
WASTEFUL: Having grown up with money, Dorian doesn't hold back on his spending. He knows he should start saving for things, but why bother when everything is handed over on a platter? He always uses things for five minutes and then gets bored so throws them away. Countless items have been binned after one use, and he just doesn't seem to care.
LACK OF SELF FAITH: Dorian, surprisingly has very low self-esteem. He always guesses it's from the fact he wasn't helped much as a child and sometimes finds himself in situations he can't handle. Which makes his issue worse. He always thinks people hate him – though they probably do – and has finally come to the realisation that he's pretty worthless really.
DISHONEST: Although Dorian pretends to pride himself on his honesty, he's pretty bad when it comes to the truth. He likes twisting people's words and generally makes a mess of everything. He's not scared to make up stories either and always makes sure he knows the latest gossip to keep up with the times.
JEALOUS: If you're with Dorian you are with all of him. He hates people trying to steal things from him – especially boys – and he will get into fights with people he things are trying to challenge him. He's not afraid of a few bruises. You can always tell when Dorian gets jealous and he gets really angry when people find it cute – which they generally do.
TRUSTING: As well as forgiving, Dorian is always quick to trust people, even if he tries to convince himself otherwise. He doesn't let out his secrets easily, but if he has talked to you more than twice he'll probably consider you trustworthy. Plus with all his inside gossip he knows who to look out for!
DETERMINED: Knowing his goals from a young age Dorian is always determined to complete them. He works hard to complete tasks and still manages to keep up his good grades. The expanse of clothes he has made should tell you that he works hard, if nothing else. He will reach his goals one day. He's sure of it.
Background: The Moore's have always been a rich family. Right back to the sixteenth century when they first moved into the vast English country side. They bought a large estate covering over one hundred acres, with enough rooms to house a football team and then some.
For generations the family stayed in the estate, slowly branching out and buying flats in Paris, Rome, Madrid and finally coming to the decision they would purchase a property in London. They had never been keen on the busily city and the bright lights until Dorian's Mother moved there for her university education.
She fell in love with Soho almost immediately, becoming obsessed with the night life, her money being spent on films and the arts. Every night was spent at the theatre soaking up as much culture as she could hold. Always returning to 'Daddy' for a little extra cash.
From the 1930s to the early 1960s, Soho folklore states that the pubs of Soho were packed every night with drunken writers, poets and artists, many of whom never stayed sober long enough to become successful. She became one of them, drunk on life and hungover every morning, she became a fleeting night owl, never staying in one place for long.
Dorian's father, Nicholas, had always lived in Soho. By the mid-19th century, all respectable families had moved away, and night-walkers, music halls and small theatres had moved in. Along with his grandparents. Norwegian in decent they had come to England, as most do, to seek their fortune. Expecting London to be paved with gold.
The two met in a night club on Saturday night, but it would take him three years to pluck up the courage to ask her on a date. He was madly in love, and she was madly in lxst. When Dorian was born the two had separated, though on good terms, and the young baby was brought up by his Grandfather back home.
Dorian was given strict elocution lessons, shooting, horse-back riding. During that time his mother had returned to her adventurous self. Sneaking off to distant lands for months on end without so much as a goodbye. During their time apart Dorian became fascinated with his mother's outlook on life. Taking a shine to Soho, just as his mother had done - though it had changed drastically since she was young. He obsessed over the fashions, the bright colours and bizarre designs and began to form some of his own. Sketch books were filled in weeks and spread across his bedroom floor. His grandfather tried to defer him onto more... masculine things, shooting was back on the agenda and try as he might Dorian couldn't get away from it.
When his mother returned from one of her trips Dorian begged her to take him with her, he wanted to explore new cultures and add to his expanding portfolio. But she refused. Saying life on the move was terrible for a teenager. But eventually he broke her down and for his sixteenth birthday (having finished his private education) she agreed to take him to America. Where they never left.
At Seventeen, Dorian still gets his allowance from his grandfather and sometimes treats from his mother, but he has begun to sell on his ideas to the clothing world. Although making a small name for himself, he hasn't yet cracked it and spends all of his free time drawing. Slowly he began to realise that he had essentially moved to America to sit on his own and draw. Not really something he wanted to do, so to try and fit with the masses he joined in the last years of American education, to try and gain some inside knowledge on the latest trends and work out were his designs were going wrong.
Other: Often mistaken for a young lady, ironic that he should be for all his misogyny.
