( www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=68421100 ) Rebecca sat at the very edge of the pool, letting her feet wade in the water as she stared down at it, her ponytail hanging off to the side as she tilted her head down. Her sandals sat next to her as she leaned back against the concrete floor of the pool. The quiet seemed to put her at ease, as did the feeling of the cool water against her legs while she waited for Vangelis. She wasn't quite sure what to make of it, the fact that there was so much distinction between the two, yet she felt so content around him. He had this way of looking at things, that sort of made her doubts go away. alksdjas

{ www.polyvore.com/vangelis_rebecca_at_pool/set?id=68421471 } Late as usual Vangelis sauntered over to the pool in his signature carefree style. Completely bypassing the gate he decided instead to climb up over the chain-link fence. Struggling only a little as he scaled it, he managed to make no sound until he was balancing on the thin metal raining at the very top. 'Rebecca!', he called out, and when she turned around he gave her a little wave and then he hopped off the top and landed like it was nothing at all. Although there was a slight twinge of pain in his left ankle as he landed, though he didn't show it on his face. Walking over, his hands now shoved in the pockets of his jeans he stood by Rebecca's side, looking down in to the water. 'How you doing?', he asked, bending down to unfasten the laces of his boots.

Turning around and smiling up at the boy, Rebecca sat up straighter as he arrived, "I'm doing well, considering," she shrugged, slightly turning to him then glancing back down at the water, "you know, I have no idea how to swim," she shook her head, slightly forgetting why she had chosen to meet here in the first place, "but I love the water."
Looking up at Vangelis, she raised an eyebrow, "And how are you?"

'Considering what?', Vangelis asked, sitting down and tugging off his first boot, then getting started on the next one. They were probably the most inconvenient shoes he could've worn, but they were his favourites.
Forgetting all about the considering comment Vangelis was shocked to hear Rebecca couldn't swim. In fact, instead of answering her question about how he was, he decided to focus on the not swimming thing.
'You can't swim?', he asked, his eyes wide, just staring at her, 'You realise this gives me complete duty to teach you how to swim right?', he continued, tugging off his other boot and throwing it backwards.

Rebecca raised her eyebrows, then shook her head, "No, no, no," she laughed slightly, "I-I can't," she adjusted her seating for a second, scooting back an inch or two, "I am perfectly fine just, you know, sitting here, um," she bit her lip, "wading in the water, it's fine, really!"
It wasn't really the fact that she was scared of swimming more so than the fact that when she was younger, she'd been made fun of for wearing a bathing suit at the pool, back in her pudgy days -- though the experience did cause her to refrain from being anywhere near the water or wearing a bathing suit.
"I'm not even dressed to swim," she shrugged, "so..."

'Course you're dressed for it, you've got underwear on right?', Vangelis laughed a little, though he wasn't sure how serious he was about that. Was he really gonna make this girl strip down so he can teach her how to swim? Probably not, even though it'd be way more fun than just sitting here dipping their feet in to the water.
'I might go for a dip anyway, screw you', he joked, and he gave her a little nudge with his elbow to show he was just messing around. Sometime's people took him too seriously, and that could be a problem.

Rebecca laughed, hitting Vangelis lightly on the arm, playfully, "I'm not stopping you," she cocked her head to the side and raised an eyebrow, "but don't count on me going in with just my underwear," she crinkled her nose slightly as she smiled, reaching over behind her head to undo her ponytail, letting her hair down.
She stared at the water for a while, chewing on the inside of her bottom lip. Rebecca was curious, after all, and the water did look tempting, what with the fact that the weather was perfect for it, anyhow. Looking back at him, she let out a breath, "Be sure to keep your clothes on," she smirked slightly, "I don't think I need to see you stripped down to your boxers," she teased.

Vangelis put on a look of utter rejection, sticking out his bottom lip and staring at Rebecca wide eyed. 'You don't wanna see me in my boxers?', he asked, 'Is ... is it because I'm not hot enough?', he asked, dramatically falling backwards so he was laid down on the floor, hands covering his face.
'I would never say such mean things to you Rebecca Spicoli', he mumbled from behind his arms, trying to suppress the smile that was threatening to creep on to his lips.

Rebecca rolled her eyes and grinned, turning back, rolling over so she was lying on her stomach next to Vangelis, looking down at him, "Oh, psh," she rested her chin on her palm, letting out a sigh, "if you're trying to get me to admit I think you're hot, I'm not going to," she stated, in a sing-song voice, then realized her poor wording, then shook her head, trying to correct herself, "I wasn't saying that I thought that!" she defended, pointing a finger to him, regardless of him covering his face, "I was just..." she pursed her lips, shaking her head, "I was just saying."

Vangelis removed his hands from his face and raised an eyebrow at Rebecca, smirking a little. 'You think I'm hot', Vangelis sang, sitting up quickly and poking Rebecca in time to his singing, 'You think I'm hot!', he laughed and then shook his head, deciding not to take this too far. Grabbing on to his knees he pulled them up under his chin and gazed out at the water.
'So are we going swimming or not, come on, seriously, what do you have to loose?', he asked, being a little more serious about it this time. Sitting on the side of the pool really wasn't his style, so if she said no this time, he'd probably go it alone.
