[/img] Finn was genuinely upset that Bee's relationship had ended. He was even more upset to think about the possibility that it was his fault because he had willingly agreed to going to dinner and a movie well knowing that she had a boyfriend. Granted, his intentions were harmless and nothing even happened, but nevertheless, they both went. Really, they were both in the wrong but he felt he would eventually need to apologize to Bo. Right now would not be the best time and he would probably end up getting punched; not like it would really phase him. Finn had gotten off the phone with Bee and went downstairs to ask his mom if she could whip up a chocolate cake for him. When she asked what he wanted it for, he explained everything that had happened and said that it was kind of like his apology for getting in the middle of things. That must had been a good enough reason because she went straight to work even though it was nearly 8:45pm and she was normally in bed by 9:30. While he waited for that to all get done, he had sent Bee a text that said it would be a little while before he was able to head over. When everything was done, frosted and looked absolutely perfect, Finn kissed his mom's forehead, thanked her, and was off to Bee's house, or what he assumed was her house. He wasn't sure if she living with her parents or maybe a friend or something. He pulled up and parked on the street outside. Taking the cake that his mom had placed in a portable plastic cake holder thing, he walked up to the front door. Tonight, Finn sported a dark wash pair of straight jeans and black slip-on Vans. He was wearing a blue shirt that had long sleeves that he had rolled up to his elbows and a v-neck. You could see small faint discolored marks which were the remainders of the bruises he acquired while at his dad's house four days ago. His black eye was nearly gone as well, but he still frowned at them as he rang the door bell. Hopefully he didn't mind her coming over at this hour on a school night.

Beatrice didn't really think that Finn was going to come over with a chocolate cake especially when it was already late at night but apparently he was up for it so she decided to chill out and watch sad movies. She knew that Bo Costello was not the person that she was meant to spend the rest of her life with but she couldn't help but think of all of the things that she had done wrong in that relationship. She hadn't cheated but she did have very clear and open feelings towards another man which she shared publicly multiple times. She might not have cheated but she probably would have if not for their break up.
It was just that Finn seemed to be so special and different than anyone else that she had ever met in her entire life. How could she pass up the chance to be with someone like that? She'd never lived.. Really lived in her entire life. She felt like she was the kind of person who always did the right thing. She was the committed faithful loving girlfriend, the devoted daughter.. Everything that she was suppose to be and yet she was miserable. She was turning into the same kind of alcohol dependent person that her father was. She was already half finished with a bottle of cheap whiskey and she smelled like a bar floor. She wasn't drunk... Just a little buzzed to numb the pain of her failed relationship and public humiliation.
She wasn't sure how Finn would feel about knowing the struggles that she had with alcohol so she was trying not to go overboard until he was gone and then she could go crazy, right? Right enough! She was wearing a baggy purple 'World's Best Grandma' shirt and a pair of black oversized sweatpants while lounging on the couch eating oreos so crumbs were all over the couch.. and the cat. Oops. Of course Finn would pick that moment to show up!
None the less, she answered the door in her current horrible state because she knew that if he couldn't handle her at her absolute worst then he definitely didn't deserve to see her at her best. "Finn... You really brought cake? Come in..." She wiped her eyes in a pathetic attempt to look a little more decent but it didn't really do anything so she just kept her eyes on her bare feet and moved out of the way so he could enter her house. "Cooper's out at a party so it's just you and I."

Wow, Bee did not look like she was doing well when she answered the door. She barely even looked like the same girl that he had seen just a few days ago. He stepped inside when instructed and smiled at the fact that she was actually surprised he brought a cake. "Yeah, my mom made it for you." He laughed, trying to bring her spirits up. Finn looked around the house from where he stood and saw the kitchen. "Mind if I?" He asked. When she nodded, he made his way to it and set the container on the counter. "It's double chocolate and a twinge of honey. Weird, I know, but it's delicious."
The cake alone was still a little on the warm side but that only made it all the better. Not wanting to look snoopy, he let Bee get plates and forks and glasses of milk to go with it. "You have a pretty awesome house. It's much cooler than mine." He stated, taking his plate with a hefty piece of cake on it and his tall glass of milk. Finn followed he into the living room and took a seat on one side of the couch. Honestly, he was kind of scared to eat on it. What if he dropped a crumb or something and she got pissy and made him leave?
Finn had almost forgotten why he was even here in the first place, to make sure that she was okay. It kind of made sense that he would be the one to offer comfort because in his mind it was his fault and he was in the wrong so he had to make it better. When Bee had taken a seat, there was a silence that filled the room. Silence always made him awkward so he had to break it. "You.. are you all right?" He asked. Damn, couldn't have asked anything else?

Beatrice never did well with awkward silences. She was definitely relieved when Finn spoke and ended it. She couldn't stand the sound of forks clicking against her glass plates or slow sips of milk. "I'm..... I know Bo wasn't the one but I'm obviously still sad even if I do have a crush on you." It was so unusual to say out loud that she had feelings for him when she had absolutely no idea how he felt about her. "It's not your fault, you know?" She felt like it was important that he understand that he had nothing to do with her and Bo's break up. "I was the one who went to the movies and got a pizza with you knowing that I had a boyfriend. I was the one who called you a stud muffin on an online chat room where he could very easily see... I'm a bad girlfriend and a horrible person."
She use to think that she was a good person.
She didn't cheat, she didn't lie... and she never stole from anyone else. She was open and honest in her relationships before she met Finn... Actually it was before Finn, too. She had started these little changes when she started turning to alcohol instead of facing her problems head on. "I am an awful terrible horrible human being ... I'm scum... I'm worse than scum. I'm like the gross stuff that grows on scum." She cried suddenly before she set her plate on the coffee table. She didn't really care about crumbs but she knew that she was going to need to set it down if she wanted a hug.
"I called Stormy a .... sperm stealing whore basically ... I hurt Bo... I deserve nothing. I deserve Dallas to say those things about me online and I deserve to have been humiliated online in front of everyone... I'm worthless." She really didn't know where this outburst of emotion was coming from but hopefully Finn would be at least somewhat understanding.

Finn frowned down at the cake on his plate as he'd lost the drive to eat it. Even though she had said that he had nothing to do with her breakup, he still felt something of a guilt trip over it. Wasn't he in the wrong too? Even though nothing had happened and there was nothing he could do now to fix the situation, he was still partly responsible? Maybe that was just what his dad had drilled into his head because in his eyes, everything was Finn's fault and he had said it enough times that Finn believed it. So, this was partly his fault too.
He couldn't help but feel a little better when she mentioned how she called him a stud muffin in the chat room. He desperately tried to hide his smile and the laugh that wanted to go with it by stuffing his face with an overly large bite. Finn had always been a good listener, he was always drawn to trying to help other people overcome their fears and problems even if he couldn't face his own. He wiped his mouth on the inside of his shirt and scooted slightly closer to Bee who was now a mess of heartbroken tears.
"You're not scum." He started when it looked like she couldn't even talk anymore. He scooted closer and wrapped his arms around her back to pull her int his chest.. which still hurt but it was okay. "You're not worthless. Dallas is a prick and a liar himself so you can't believe anything he says, Bee. Or anyone else." He paused and moved one of his hands to the top of her back. "I'm sorry this happened, but maybe it was for the best, y'know?"
Even though neither of them knew the other very well, Finn felt drawn to her since he wrapped his arm around her outside the movie theatre. "You're a beautiful girl, Bee, you are. You're smart and funny and you're better than most of the people I know." Finn pulled away from her and tilted her chin up. "Things get better with time. I know, it's the story of my life." He quietly let out an short, airy laugh at the irony before removing his hand from her face.

You're smart.
People didn't often call Beatrice smart so it was really surprising when people did. She could literally count on one hand how many people had called her smart in all nineteen years of her life. She was always told that she was beautiful and cute and funny but never smart even if that was the one thing that she craved to hear. It was obvious to most everyone around her that she really wasn't that smart but she usually tried. How was she suppose to know the difference between an egg with a baby chick in it and an egg with an egg in it? Or that you can't wear leg warmers on your arms just because it's winter and you never learned how to read a calendar so you thought it was summer? Okay so those were really dumb on her end but that didn't give anyone the right to call her an idiot.
It wasn't really a surprise that Finn was trying to comfort him. Some would say that he was doing it because he felt guilty like he was the cause of her breakup therefore the cause of her pain but she didn't suspect that. She believed that he was doing this just because he was a wonderful man who actually had a heart unlike Bo. How could he say that he had ever cared about her if he was willing to publicly humiliate her? She needed a couple of moments to calm herself down to a level that wasn't quite so hysteric. She could barely catch her breath when he first reached over let alone speak to him about how she was feeling and why she was feeling this way. She hated girls who had someone compliment them and then was like 'No, I'm -insert self hating insult here-' so she tried to avoid that but that was just how she was feeling right now.
Things don't always get better.. She knew from experience that sometimes they actually even get worse than they were before and she couldn't stand the idea of that happening. Part of her, of course, knew that she was being silly since many people go through things much worse than she was going through. People like her brother, Cooper, got things like brain tumors and manage to not think that they had it the worst. She hadn't heard Cooper complain once about his brain tumor! She knew that he was suffering and how painful that it was because she heard him sometimes in his bedroom sounding like he was just in absolute agony yet he woke up every day and got up like nothing. Sure he was behaving like an asshole to everyone but he was trying and that's the best that you can expect from anyone, right?
"Finn..." She wanted so badly to kiss him just once but she knew that people would speak badly of her if she jumped right into Finn's arms yet the urge was so overwhelming that she couldn't help but lean over and press her lips gently against his. It lasted barely a second and it really wasn't very much of a kiss. "I really like you, Finn and in a couple of months when I'm able to date again then I really would like it if you were still single and available. I would love to try and date now but I did just get out of a relationship and I can't just jump right into another one." She nodded slowly and snuggled closer to his body.

Finn was expecting Bee to say something more or reach in for another hug, but when she said nothing and was leaning her face in instead, he momentarily backed his away before stopping and catching on to what she was doing. Finn wasn't going to deny her comfort, and if a kiss was what she wanted, he was going to let her have it. He wasn't completely sure if he should kiss her back or not, but his instinct told him it was okay. Just as he had started, she pulled away. Still quiet, he nodded as she told him that she was interesting in dating after a few months had passed. He was okay with that and probably would have said something good if he wasn't still in shock about what just happened. It's not like it was his first kiss or anything, but it was the first kiss with a girl that he genuinely liked. The other three girls were all different. The first was at a dance his eighth grade year, and she had kissed him first. The second girl, his first girlfriend, had only lasted a week and a half and the last and most recent was scared off with the story about his dad because apparently all sons are just like their fathers. They had been together just shy of eight months and was getting tired of lying to her about things. She was the first and last person he told outside of his family and Cassidy Simmons. "That's all right," Finn said in a gentle voice. When she snuggled against him, he rested his hand on her back and nestled his chin on the side of her head. He hadn't even realized until his finger slightly twitched that he'd slipped his hand with hers. He didn't pull it away like his first thought had told him to, instead he kept it there and let out a little smile.
