Age: Seventeen years old.
Gender: Male
Grade: 11th, Junior.
Sports/Clubs: Debate, Football, Glee, and Student Government.
Appearance:
Being almost six feet tall makes Mark a tall fellow. He weighs in a healthy number of pounds for his height. His build is considered average but he is very slim in apperance. A bit lanky and some people might even say scrawny. Although, Mark really loves to eat. His favorite food is generally American. Double cheeseburgers, hot dogs, french fries, Philly cheesesteaks and all that food the American Heart Association looks down on.
His hair is very black. It's so black that it has a blue hue to it in the sun. Some people would call Mark's hair color jet black. He likes to keep his hair short and out of his face, never longer then the tip of his ears.
The color of his eyes is dark brown, they are almond shaped and tend to turn into cresent shapes whenever he smiles big or smiles in general. His full eyebrows shape his face correctly and he has a sharp nose that gives a strong feature to his visage. Due to the incredible amount of sun exposure, Mark's skin is tan. He wasn't born completely pale but he wasn't as baked as he is now.
He dresses to impress but knows that wearing a suit and tie would be just too fancy for school. So, Mark keeps it simple. He sports on a hooded sweatshirt, t-shirt, regular fitted jeans and sneakers. His hair is never messy or disordered and he likes to keep to reasonable shortness. What he does to impress? A good scent of musk and sandalwood.
Personality:
Mark is a part of many clubs and football. But he can't do all of that at the same time. He splits himself in four pieces to keep all of his interests satisfied. Which means that he hardly has time to hang around with friends, relax and keep sentimental relationships. Most girls he's dated have broken up for him because of his lack of attention. He doesn't resent them because he knows that it's him and well not them. Mark easily lets them go hoping they will find someone who does have time to devote to them but he has to keep moving forward.
There are times when all Mark wants to do is sleep. Sleep, sleep, sleep catch himself some z's. During weekends, he may sleep until midday. During class days, he tends to float around in his seat as if he were to fall asleep and that isn't very healthy. Mark works his brain with advance placement classes and body with all the exercise and training he does. Although he never complains about it because he does it because he wants to.
Mark's energy can't all be too drained and he will do his best to charge up in order to not be a party pooper. Speaking of parties, if he ever is invited to parties, he tends to go, show up and leave after a couple of minutes because he isn't very much of a party person. He is a funny person, effortlessly. Mark will back his face up and place a double chin on his face, cross his eyes or make creepy faces because he can and he doesn't want to reflect his life style on his face. He will never look down, maybe tired but there will never not be a smile on his face. And if one of his friends is sad, Mark will be determined to put a smile on their face and it doesn't even matter how long it will take him.
Background:
Mark was born in the beautiful islands of Hawaii. He was raised in the island of Oahu in the city of Honolulu. There was nothing better than the nice breeze and hanging out at the beach. He enjoyed outdoor sports like surfing and sailing. At school, he was known for being carefree and happy. Always participating in activities, showing off his singing skills and playing the guitar or ukulele. Mark from the beginning of his life had been extremely friendly. He shared with others and helped out in anything he could. Every report was satisfactory and he was in honor roll many times during elementary school. His parents raised him a good kid. When his dad, Tyrone's job was moved to New York, the Daniels had to leave their island life and move into the city.
Mark was nervous about moving to THE New York — concrete jungle where dreams are made of, there's nothing you can't do. What if the people were different? What if they weren't as welcoming as the folks he knew out in Hawaii? When he began going to his new school most kids began picking on him. One, for his flowery Hawaiian shirts, khaki shorts and sandals. Second, his eyesight wasn't exactly the best so he was required to wear eyeglasses. And third, he was chunky. Mark loved to eat and clearly his habits bothered other people. Still, he didn't pay attention to the haters. They were insignificant to him and what mattered was finding friends who actually mattered. People who would accept him for he was and for what he wasn't.
He met Esme Reynolds who was in the same second grade class. They hit it off because they were pretty unique you could say. She made elementary school much easier and he could always count on her. As Mark progressed to middle school, he met Aubrey and Leo. They were pretty rad dudes, pretty fast and advanced for their age. A little too overwhelming for the boy but hey, as long as they were chill with him it didn't matter what crazy habits they had. He had also met Ingrid, Caroline and Shana. Why they gave him the time of day, he didn't know.
The summer after promoting from middle school, Mark was beginning to feel bad. Running was becoming extremely difficult for him. And his breathing hitched up that at times he forgot how to breathe properly. Miranda and Tyrone felt that for their son's health, they needed to send up to camp. Mark agreed because it would benefit him in so many ways. At camp, he was kept on his feet and in reasonable diets. He was well fed but not too fed, he ran, swam, walked and many other outdoor activities. Mark spent his whole summer at camp. He succeeded in shedding all of the extra weight he carried and his health had made positive progress. Running had become something he had no problem doing and his breathing was normal. And plus, he looked great and felt fantastic.
Mark had gotten rid of his old style but he never forgot where he had come from and who he really was. He kept himself humble despite of his drastic change. He joined the football team, student government and glee club. Mark keeps singing, playing the ukulele and guitar and basically trying to live a swell life. He's thankful for the people around him and he aspires to someday have his picture up in the hall of fame. To have a name in history and be known for doing good.
