When Kylie said the joke made her laugh, Andie let out a sigh of relief. "Oh good, cuz I thought I'd made you cry," he said, kind of laughing as he looked down at her. When she moved to back up, Andie let his arms fall and smiled at her. "What? No your twirl was perfect! You looked great!" He said, throwing his hands in the air. She really had looked good, she just lost her balance. "My foot thinks you're really good too," he joked just before she said he gave really good hugs. It made him blush.
"Costello family gift, I guess," he said shrugging his shoulders and looking away. "Bo gives good hugs too. Same with my dad." He'd never been too good at taking compliments. He could sure give them, but when they came his way he just giggled and blushed and tried to put the compliment on someone else. "And seriously bro.. my foot is fine," he said after a moment.
"Now let's see the spin again. I'll make sure my feet are out of the way," he said, patting down his sweatshirt. "Plus," he moved closer to Kylie, putting his arms out on either side of her, "now you've got a barrier. So.. spin again. I'll catch you." Now here it was. It was happening. The nerves that he'd sensed from her end were rubbing off on him. Now Andie wasn't mister big shot actor mentoring the freshman. Now, Andie was getting a couple butterflies of his own as he smiled at Kylie and felt his cheeks go hot.

Kylie giggled her sweet little laugh, "No, I think it's just an Andie Costello gift." She had forgotten that he had a brother and now that she was thinking about it, they hadn't ever met. She had heard of him from Esme who said they should meet, but she was happy that she had Andie instead. She also knew that their time was going to be short seeing as it was almost four and she knew Jett would be coming back to get her at any time. Her slight sadness went away when he said her twirl was actually good and that she should do it again. She stepped within the barriers of his arm, kind of giggling to herself. She watched for his toes this time, curled her hands in then let them flow out around her when she started spinning. She twirled in three circles before feeling his body on her back. "Oh," she gasped as she turned around, "Was that one better?" She had taken his hand in with her like she was a ballerina. Not even a minute later, she could hear Jett's voice ringing out through the empty auditorium. She looked over to her older brother and slowly backed away from Andie. She was sure to get an ear full later about boys.. especially older boys like him. Jett was making his way down the center isle and stopped in front of the stage. "Come on, Ky, I've got shit to do other than babysit." He had said in a harsh tone. He hadn't taken his piercing stare off Andie until Kylie was waving bye and thanking him for helping today. Before she left, she had slipped a note into his backpack that read: "Practice again? MayB smoothies? Let me know - Kylie 323-581-2549 p.s. you are awesome xx" "I'll see you later, Andie." She smiled to him as Jett was pulling her back towards the door.

Andie smiled and exhaled slowly through his nose. "That was great," he said when she asked if this spin had been better. Holding her hand in his, he blushed lightly. But his attention was quickly drawn away from her and onto an approaching figure. It was Jett. That kid Danny always talked about. Andie and him had never personally met, but he knew people that knew him. What was he, a junior?
Having been too distracted thinking about the boy's age, Andie didn't notice what Jett had said or when Kylie had slipped away from him. It took a moment to refocus, but he'd dropped his arms in no time and was waving good bye to Kylie as she pulled her hand up from his backpack. Tilting his head to the side, he went to pick it up and slung it over his shoulder, throwing a bag of Cheetos on the ground.
"Yea.. see you later, Tinkerbell," he said as he crouched down to grab the bag and watch Kylie and Jett exit. The minute Jett turned his back, Andie made a rather childish face at him.
They were gone within seconds and Andie was alone in the theater yet again. He'd pulled the curtains shut, jumped off stage and made his way up to the tech box to shut everything down. Leaning against the main circuit board, Andie sighed. "Kylie Cadwell," he whispered, looking out over the rows and rows of seats. He nodded to himself. "Yep. I dig her." Lights off and curtains pulled, Andie made his way back down the steep staircase, out the theater doors and to his car.
