It was not unusual to see their son cleaning the apartment. What was unusual was the fact that it was seven in the morning on a Saturday. What in the world was going on that would make a teenager voluntarily rise at such an early hour? Mrs. Aldana was about to use the single family bathroom until she bumped into her son tidying up the sink as well as the products that were sprawled across it. "You're up early," she commeneted with a smile.
"Yeah, I'm having a friend over. She wants to learn how to play the guitar," Isaac explained.
"Oh. Oh," his mother's smile widened. "Well, just let me use the restroom really quick and I'll let you get back to cleaning," she requested politely, tapping him on the elbow to emphasize the urgency of her body's needs.
Isaac gave an exaggerated sigh before stepping out into the main hallway, which caused his mother to chuckle from behind the door. It was how they interacted. Call him a mama's boy, but Isaac's first and best friend would have to be his mother. His father shared the same sense of humor, but Isaac didn't confide in him the way he did with his mom. Moving into the instrument room, which was where he and Daisy would be spending the majority of their time, he cleared the floor for space to walk before straightening out the sheet music that was piled on top of the piano. Being an only child gave him an extra room in the three-bedroom apartment to pursue his dreams of becoming a musician.
Daisy and Isaac had agreed to start the lesson at eleven, so at ten, he left the house to pick her up. He wore a button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, blue jeans, and Sperry loafers. With his favorite silver watch on his wrist, Isaac was ready to go
