Name
Persephone Violet Paynter. A lot of her friends refer to her as 'Seph' or 'Sepphy', some even call her 'P-Seph', she really doesn't give a damn, she knows her name is a mouthful. Persephone has referred to herself as 'Freckles' a few times in the past, and has no trouble with her close friends calling her that too.
Age
Seventeen and her birthday is on the 14th of December.
Gender
Girl, although people do mistake her for a boy from behind, what with the hair and lack of curves.
Grade
Junior.
Sports/Clubs
Cross country.

Appearance
Persephone is 5"8, has naturally bright orange hair which is cut short, and a face full of freckles.
That's her appearance in a nut shell.
What?
What do you mean you want more?
Oh, alright then.
Persephone doesn't have a very feminine figure, she has broad shoulders, a basically flat chest and barely any definition of hips or waist. In short, she has the body shape of a seventeen year old boy. Still, she is pretty slim, and toned due to her running a lot with the cross country team. Persephone is always being pestered by her parents to put on weight, because they fear she is too skinny, but she really isn't. Yes, she's thin, but it's nothing to be worried about. Besides, Persephone is one of the lucky few that can eat whatever she wants and never gains weight.
Persephone likes the shape of her face, the way that it's quite rounded. People tell her that they love the dimples she gets in her cheeks when she smiles, and that always makes her smile more, and she blushes easily. Though her skin is quite pale it's easily to overlook that because her face is so covered in freckles, and as is the rest of her body, especially her shoulders and forearms. A boy once told her that her eyes reminded him of moss, and she didn't know whether to take it as a compliment, but after looking in a mirror she concluded that he was right in what he had said. When asked to describe what type of nose she had Persephone said 'a squishy' one, and left it at that. On her sixteenth birthday she had her nose pierced and wears a silver hoop in it most of the time.
Personality
Persephone has a fairly varied range of personality traits. It all depends on who you are, and how she's feeling at that moment in time. You can pretty much count on her being sarcastic no matter what the situation. Sarcastic, sassy, witty, the girl has a sharp tongue, and she's good at putting people in their place if she feels they need it. This may her seem a little unapproachable but it's all an act to keep the idiots at bay. Persephone hates people who can't hold up a good conversation. Small talk bores her to tears, she'd much rather have a real heart to heart, even if she's basically a stranger to you. What better way to spark of a new friendship than discussing the meaning of life? Okay, so maybe she won't go that far, but I think you get my point.
People tend to peg Persephone as 'the rebel' when she's in a social group, but she doesn't see herself as a rebel. So she wears leather pants, stays out late, smokes and drinks a lot, but ... Is it really rebellious if your parents would be okay with it? Persephone is pretty responsible, even when drunk, she'll be the drunk person looking after the drunker people. There's nothing she would do that could get her in to serious trouble, and it's doubtful that someone could push her in to doing anything, she can be stubborn. Persephone just does what she wants and hopes that her friends will come with her, and if they don't, well she'll make new friends along the way, she has no problems with that.
The saying goes that red heads are very hot tempered but Persephone defies this rule, as do her two red headed siblings for that matter. Persephone does get angry, of course, but when she gets angry she is scarily calm. The type of person you'd really not want to get angry, because she will make you pay for it, one way or another. Yeah, Persephone can be pretty brutal. Not in a 'let's have a fight' way though, just to make things clear.
History
Hi my name is Persephone, and I was adopted.
Don't worry, I'm not about to feed you a long winded sob story about how my mom didn't want me, or how my dad was a teenager headed straight for jail. Honestly, I never met my parents. That stuff I put back there, it may or may not be true. I have no idea. All I know is I was adopted by my moms when I was six months old, and after they adopted me we moved out of Washington and settled down in Pendleton,Oregon.
My moms are great, two of the most inspirational women I've ever met. Julie is a neurosurgeon, which basically means she is smart as fuck. Lydia is a professor of Ancient History, which explains my name, by the way. Persephone was the Queen of the Underworld in Ancient Greek myths. I think it's a pretty rad name. Julie wanted to name me Violet, which explains the middle name.
I have two other adopted siblings, my older brother Perseus, though everyone calls him Percy, he's four years older than me. Then there's my little sister Athena, she's three years younger than me. Yeah, Lydia really wanted to stick by the theme. As did Julie, so we all have middle names beginning with 'V'.
Perseus Victor. Persephone Violet. Athena Victoria.
My childhood was great. The only bad thing I ever had to deal with were people hating on my moms. People just assumed that I was this really bad kid because I didn't have a father figure to discipline me. That's something a teacher said to Julie once, can you believe it? Trust me he got a mouthful from both of my moms. I didn't care about not having a dad. I suppose it's hard for people to imagine, but I didn't care because I didn't understand the difference. My moms could do everything dads could do, that's how I saw it.
I think the only real effect it had on me is that I feel really weird around guys. I just don't trust them. My moms are sort of 'anti-man', with the exception of my brother. They just don't really get on with guys that well, and maybe that rubbed off on me.
So yeah, that's my history.
