Name: Trenton Alexander Bennet
Grade: Senior
Age: 18
Sport/club: Debate
Personality: Trent is kind of, a jerk, about certain things. He will go pretty far to tell you off if you’re wrong, and will not give up when he thinks you are wrong. He really just likes to argue with people, because he doesn’t really know how to make friends. He thinks he’s funny, and he really isn’t. He is that id that will sit in class and comment on everything and try to make people laugh. He’s not really all that funny, but he tries. He really doesn’t like to complain or be complained to because he was one that grew up thinking that you can suck it up, some people somewhere else have it worse than you do.
He relies on other people too much to make him happy, and that gets him in trouble. He can’t make decisions for himself, and will constantly wonder what he should have chosen instead of moving on. He’s the type to wonder what if. What if this happened instead of this..? What if I was born with different parents? The type that spends more time doubting himself then actually moving forwards. He is always thinking of something that he did in the past, and something that he said that could make you hate him, if you say one mean thing to him.
He is extremely insecure and always has a feeling that you’re talking about him when you probably aren’t. The good part of this however is that he hates talking about people to their face, behind their back either one. He just really hates expressing his opinion of people because he doesn’t want to hurt them. So he keeps his feelings bottled up most of the time. He doesn’t really know what to do with those feelings so he usually ends up exploding towards people he doesn’t really mean to hurt.
He’s generally a talkative person, who tends to talk more then he listens to other people which is not the best thing. He really likes to do stupid stuff in his free time, and also likes to skateboard. He doesn’t really do stupid things though, he’s kind of cautious about what he does, because he’s afraid of judgement. He has an irrational fear of it, so he won’t do things, and even stupid things like being the first one to finish a test scare him. It’s mostly the little things though, like looking too smart when he is really of average intelligence, that make him not want to get the answers right.
History: They literally ran into each other, in a hallway on the first day of school. His parents that is, was it love at first sight? For a while. When they were still in high school, their first child Trenton Alexander Bennet was born, he was named after his father, who had dropped out of school to support the family, and was making a living working as a salesman at an auto parts shop, and taking up a second job at the local music store. That was all fine and dandy, until his mother died of complications during labor.
After that he was raised completely by his father, who was crushed because the woman of his dreams had died. He tried for years to get his life back on the road, and was in and out of rehab for his alcohol addiction, leaving his son with his parents. Trent was mostly raised by his grandparents, and while his father never physically did anything to him, he really shrugged to be around and Trent will tell you of multiple instances where his father was drinking that he can remember.
For example, on Sunday's where they used to live his father would take him to the house of a lady who owned horses, and let him play with her daughter, who later became Trent's first crush, and girlfriend, while he drank with the woman before the bar opened. There are also multiple other instances where his father would leave one night, and then appear again a week later with no explanation. This went on for pretty much all of his childhood, and by the time he was ten years old he was pretty much in custody of his grandparents. Who loved him more than anything in the world and tried as hard as they could to raise him.
At this point his father was nowhere to be seen, and Trent still did not have the best upbringing and was left at home a lot of the time, this being no fault of his though, he was mostly left to fend for himself, as much as his grandparents tried to be there for him neither one really could. His grandmother was often unable to do anything aside of spending the day in bed, and his grandfather spent many days in and out of the hospital with his grandmother. They made it work though, that was until three years later when his grandmother died. It honestly was not as sad as it should have been, but for years the family knew it was coming, and long behold his father showed back up and promised to be clean, and his grandfather, let him move in with them, since he was still in charge of Trent.
Every time his dad gets a drink, he often has to remind himself that he's not going to do that again, and even though it seems childish, he often has trouble watching his father leave to go somewhere because he fears that he will leave him again like he did when Trent was a child. However, Trent noticed a new addiction in his father, that being women, who his father sleeps with. Which Trent considers better than the alcohol. He's also sure that his father is not the best man, but he tries his hardest to accept him and the relationship is getting progressively better.
Trent was a weird kid, and he was often picked on in school, and since his grandfather had the money he decided to send him to Somerset for high school. Even though he still lived at home with his grandfather and father, and his father’s random women, he liked the school. So that’s where he ended up.
