We're having a carnival! Even though it's probably freezing!

“Of course not, I just have nothing better to do with my time then to pet animals,” he shrugged. Did he really have better things to do? Probably. He could probably text someone, and hang out with them, but that wasn’t fun, well most of the time. “Oh good, clowns are freaks,” he laughed. He really didn’t like clowns because of the whole guy with the balloon thing, and even before that he had never liked them really.
When she said to come in, he did that and squinted, It was dark in the tent and hard to see the lady in the tent, but he could make out that she was wearing a lot of beads and jewelry. He stood next to Heather, at this point he was a little scared of what was going on, because he wasn’t sure that this was going to be good. What if it told him that he was going to die soon? Or something like that? For some reason he was always scared of things that told him the future, he was more of a one day at a time person, even if he didn’t like the uncertainty, he didn’t like knowing too much about the future because he might not like it.
Then again, it could have been one of those things where you knew what was going to happen and you didn’t want it to happen so you tried you’re hardest not to make it happen and then ended up making it happen. Either way, he wasn’t sure that any of this was going to happen. He didn’t particularly like to believe these things, but sometimes it was something to go by, and sometimes it gave you that false hope that you needed to get through the day.
Like when he was a kid. He used to look up horoscopes and fortunes to see what was going to happen that day, and the whole thing was really a false hope, something that made him look for that thing that the magazine said was going to happen. It made him look forward to finding money on the sidewalk all day even if he never did. Eventually he stopped believing it though. So now he wasn’t sure if this was going to be good or not. “This is exciting,” he whispered to his friend .

Caleb had been really excited when Jodie had mentioned going to the Carnival. So of course he asked her to go to it. What kind of guy wouldn’t? He thought today might be the perfect time to ask her out, to officially be her boyfriend, if she would do the honors of being his girlfriend. He didn’t know how he’d managed to get such an amazing girl like Jodie. She really did seem to perfect to be real. Maybe she’d finally get the chance to meet Chantel, if she wasn’t cranky. The sound of her yelling would say otherwise, and he rolled his eyes before heading downstairs.
He stuck his tongue out at Chantel as she teased him. “I’m not ‘adorable’, I’m manly,” he retorted at his older sibling. She just couldn’t appreciate how well groomed he wanted to be. Jodie deserved nothing but the best, and he was ready to do just that. He thought he older sister was awesome and they never really fought about anything. They jammed hardcore in the car and sand to every song. The Jackson family had been blessed with pretty good vocals, a jam sessions were a must. He glanced down at his watch occasionally and checked his phone for texts.
He couldn’t remember when they agreed to meet, simply saying he’d text her when he arrived. He knew she had cheer practice, so he didn’t want to rush her. Besides, they weren’t arriving when the place just opened so that meant he had plenty of time. Chantel was obviously in no kind of rush to get there either, which he didn’t mind. He didn’t exactly want to awkwardly wait alone so the more time spent on the road the better. His eyes widened as he saw the carnival come into view. It was so sick, and he was excited.
Chantel didn’t spend much time by the car as she started walking off without him. “Hey! Can you meet Jodie before we leave?” he called out to her, but she was already too far away to hear him. Who was she meeting anyway? She hadn’t told him why she wanted to go, but he just shrugged it off, probably girl stuff. It didn’t matter, he was here for Jodie. He walked through the entrance glancing about in amazement. He was really a little kid in a wonderland. He stopped to send a text to Jodie,’ Hey, I’m here at the Carnival (: ‘ he sent the text before turning to look for some food. He was hungry, like always.

She took a seat next to Jude, awaiting whatever bullshit this fortune teller would spew. She smiled at his comment, it was exciting wasn't it? The lights above dimmed for a moment, and then came back on. Suddenly she felt scared, and she wasn't sure if it was even her own fear she was feeling. Subconsciously her hand reached out for Jude's. She sqooze tightly, unaware of what his reaction would be. It was meant to be a simple gesture, as if comforting a younger sibling by holding their hand.
A fog machine in the back must have been on a timer, because as soon as the lady began to speak fog filled the room. Heather let out a few small coughs, she always hated the smell of those things. She had to admit the effects were cool though. Glow in the dark contacts, neat. Heather thought as the fortune tellers eyes lit up a bright orange. "Before the beginning of great brilliance, there must be chaos." The first words did not seem to make sense to Heather, her head strained closer to hear better.
"The end is near.." Her glowey eyes stared into Jude's face to clarify the meaning. Turning to Heather she repeated and then adding, "Your luck will be completely changed when love conquers all." She felt her face redden with embarrassment, her hand pulling away from Jude's. If she felt anything towards her new companion, it was strictly platonic. This was a bad idea. Bad idea. Clearly this fortune teller only generated love fortunes.
Heather gave Jude an apologetic look, unsure if he believed any of this crap. Her hands balled into fists, ready to demand a rereading. She contained her anger for the most part. It was simply her job and she should not take anything said too seriously. "Thanks.." She muttered to the fortune teller and stood to leave.
[[if you have anything you want to add to the fortune feel free. ]]

the end is near that was pretty creepy. He didn't know what that was supposed to mean, but the entire thing was starting to have a realistic feel to him. It kind of felt like he was in one of those cheesy romantic movies where the couple got told that they were supposed to be in love, but they hardly knew each other, and then they ended up falling in love and all was happy and they rode off into the sunset together. That, in his opinion was also bullshit.
He wasn't really paying attention to the fact that she was holding his hand. In fact, it wasn't weird at all. His mom always did that whenever they talked about things since she thought he needed comforting. Of course it was a love prediction, so when she stood up he did too and lead her outside. "So are you ready to ride off into the sunset yet or do you need some more convincing?" he joked. He couldn't be serious about the whole thing, even though she seemed like a nice person there was more that needed to be known about her before they could even be friends, much less anything like that.
There was something about her, that told him that there was a lot more to her then meets the eye, and since he was horrible at reading people, he didn't want to try and guess. It was just something that he would have to know later if he really did want to know. "That was a stupid idea, sorry," he laughed even though it wasn't really that funny.

Heather was relieved that he didn't mention anything about holding his hand. How weird was that, right? Its not like she was a cuddle-happy-go lucky kind of person. Something about Jude had made her hand reach out towards him comfortingly back there. Following him out, she skipped ahead of him then suddenly stopped so he would have to have come close to bumping into her. "Wait!" She demanded all seriousness in her tone, holding out a hand for him to stop. She crouched down, and stared at shoe prints in the ground (what I imagine is dirt ? well that's how carnivals are here /shrug) . A finger traced over a large shoe print, as if reading some sort of sign. She then cocked her head up to the sky, "We need to save them all." She whispered, still crouched down.A smile was beginning to crack her face, "I mean, the worlds gotta end before we fall in love right? I think I see a UFO up there." Heather contained her laughter as she joked, "I'm serious!" She persisted sarcastically finally able to let a few giggles out.
Standing now, she wiped her dirty finger on her dress to clean it. "Hey, lets go on that ride." Her finger lifted and pointed to the tallest of the roller coasters, that had a double loop. Was he afraid of roller coasters, heights, or was it just clowns? She wondered finding herself more curious to know stuff about Jude. "If you're scared we could always ride the merry go round and throw M&M's at people and scream its raining candy come get some." She joked, she really didn't want to go back to the petting zoo. Not just yet, she was having too much fun. She silently wished she had brought her cell phone to get in contact with some of her other friends, just in case Jude decided to bail on her.

Looking up at Justin, Chantel realized just how happy she was. She would’ve never thought she’d be here holding his hands at a carnival. He was… he was different than everyone else. He wasn’t the type of guy to be loud and draw attention. He was humble, a little on the shy side, and sweet as can be. She couldn’t think of anyone else she’d rather be with. He was someone you could take home to your parents without a second thought, and she hoped one day she could. Sure, it would take a flight across the country and a body of water, but she wasn’t against the idea.
The way he simply smiled at her was enough to make her heart flutter and for her to just smile back. It wasn’t the material things from him, but just his gestures. He was simply enough for her, and it was oddly calming. There were times where she wished she could do more than just smile at him or kiss him on the cheek, but she didn’t want to rush him. She wanted him to be comfortable every step of the way, and for once she didn’t mind taking things slow. She was letting him set the pace, though she didn’t regret that kiss on the cheek. She’d do it over again and again if she had the choice.
Chantel was an extremely confident person, and she believed that they complimented each other. Opposites that needed the other, how poetic. “I’ve been looking for you all day!” she said feigning fatigue. She laughed at her own joke, but only because she wasn’t serious at all. “I’m just kidding. No, I just got here. I stopped at your family’s cart, but when you weren’t there I just had to go looking for you.” It was slightly awkward to think she hadn’t met his family, but at the same time he hadn’t exactly met hers either. Well, they weren't an advertised couple so she wasn’t too worried. Things would happen when they were meant to be.

"I don't see it..?" he said with a confused look on his face, when she said she saw a UFO. The whole concept was a little silly, and he laughed, deciding to play a long with her. It was fun, right? He couldn't help but notice her enthusiasm as she said that, and that was a sign to him that he should go along with it, even it he really didn't get what she was trying to say. It might have come across as rather fake, but he tried. He wasn't sure that she was a good people reader, and he didn't want to make her think that he didn't care. He was just confused by what she meant.
He did like the idea of throwing candy at people, but then again rides were always fun. "Gosh that's a really tough decision, two good choices," he looked at her with a grin, "lets do both," he said. That was followed by an evil grin. "Rides first though," he said before he headed in the direction of the ride she had pointed at. He was really having fun with this girl, and not only that but it was making him happy that he wasn't spending the time alone, or just walking around doing nothing. How awkward would that be? Very awkward. Rides were easy right, you didn't have to talk to people or get to know them? Yeah that was fun.

Gosh. That was a cute word, who said that anymore? She smiled, and hoped he wouldn't mind her potty mouth that tended to come out once she got more familiar with a new person. And boy, was she feeling comfortable with him. She was sure they had their differences yet to be discovered, sure. But anyone that went into a spooky fortune tellers reading with her, she would have to consider them a friend. She liked the idea of him agreeing with her, and not thinking it was cruel to throw M&M's out at little children. She giggled at the thought of them possibly being kicked out of the park. She honestly enjoyed testing things to their limits, even if throwing candy wasn't a real offense. Standing still for a moment lost in her daze, she sprinted to catch up with Jude. She clinked her elbow to his, dragging him forward to the line. Releasing him from her grasp, she stood by the height limits sign. "Am I tall enough?" She joked, as she stood about half a foot over the "54" sign. "I'm still short." She admited bluntly. "But honestly who cares? I'm sick of all these girls I know that are like 'Whahhh I wish I was taller! Or I'm sooo tall ! I can't find a guy my height!' " She mimicked some of the girls she knew with a high pitched voice. She laughed at her own joke. She truly was grateful for what she had, though she was still striving for that true beauty. Turning back to the line, she was glad there hardly was one and they would be seated promptly. As the bar was fastened tightly over their waists she asked, "Are you scared?" cause she was ready to scream bloody hell and make this poor boy deaf. >

"Dude, I hate that too..." he said as if he had just come to the realization that they actually had something in common, he had actually always heard that if you found something you both hated then you could bond over that faster then finding something you both liked. "and when she's like "I'm not short I'm finsized," I don't even know why people say short things are funsized, like candy, it would be funsized it if was bigger, I don't want like six m&m's." He continued before they got locked onto the ride.
"Not really are you?" There was always that moment before the ride started where he finally realized what he was doing and got scared, but it was too late at that point. Then it started and it felt good honestly he likes rides, they were fun, and even though most of the time you spent more time waiting in line then you actually spent on the ride, it was still an enjoyable experience. He wasn't one to scream the entire time though, he was quiet and enjoying the ride, unlike heather, he assumed who liked to scream.

She laughed as his jokes, though honestly six M&M's sounded perfect for her appetite. Heather shook her head in a precise 'No.' But who was ever ready for roller coasters. As the ride began to move she felt her heart beat faster, and her adrenaline beginning to race. The soft cling clangs of the ride as it pulled itself up the hill. As it was released from the tracks, she held up her hands. There was only like a 0.00001% chance that they would get cut off or anything like that. She sucked in a large breath before letting out a scream. Turning to Jude as the ride finished, her face was red and out of breath. Sweat was beginning to line her forehead. She honestly was a little bit disappointed that he didn't scream along side her. It was always a sort of competition on who could scream the loudest she thought. Oh well, she grinned as she won that battle.
"Let's go see our pictures!" She announced excitedly and looped her arm around his. Jude had no choice but to follow Heather as she dragged him towards the photo booth. Releasing him from her grip she smoothed her windblown hair down. Her eyes scanned up at the screens waiting for their picture to be shown on screen. "Look!" She pointed her finger to the screen as the two appeared. She could hardly contain her laughter, "Look.. at me!" She said between giggles. Her eyes were shut, and her teeth were sticking out like she was buck toothed, her hair was thrown wildly behind her. "And yoooouu!" Jude was sitting next to her in a different pose (ill let you post how he appeared on camera ) Handing the man who ran the booth $5, she took a copy for herself. It was a rip off, but she definitely wanted to frame this memory.
