We're having a carnival! Even though it's probably freezing!

Jamie was a little concerned about meeting Courtney at the carnival just for the simple fact that he was worried about what someone would think if they saw the two together. Wasn't that enough to raise a speculation? He didn't want her to lose her job because he was careless, I mean, even his sister was going to the there. If anyone was to say something or see them, it would most likely be her. Either way, he was just going to have to be careful with his affection tonight because there wasn't any chance that he was going to miss out on it. "Okay, here's seventy, spend it wisely, Dani." Jamie said while they were still in the car. She nodded after an eye roll and snatched the money out of his hand. They exited and when they'd gotten on the inside, the two went their separate ways. He felt kind of bad for leaving Olivia at home, but she insisted that she would rather spend her night getting ready for a big exam or something. If that's what she wanted to do, he wasn't going to argue. Jamie had been wondering around for a minute. There were some familiar faces which worried him. If Courtney had actually shown up, there wasn't going to be any guarantee that he would be able to hold back from being the cute little romantic that he was. Especially for a woman that he couldn't seem to get out of his head. He wasn't even affected by the slight age difference between them, he was just concerned about the whole teacher and student thing. But if they needed, he was a good keeper for secrets and important information. This was both. He walked around for a little while longer, his hands buried deep inside his light tan coat that covered his flannel. He felt well dressed.. not too casual like he'd just rolled out of bed, and not too dressy like he was going to church with his family like they did every Sunday morning. Jamie turned on his heels to look at the ferris wheel which brought a smile to his lips. He took a few steps back and bumped into someone which scared the hell out of him as he whipped around to apologize. "I'm so sorry, miss!" He said, wide-eyed. Then he'd realized that he'd finally found Courtney and his whole face lit up. "Well, hey there! Sorry if I startled you." Jamie said with a crooked smile. God she looked pretty tonight.. and cold.

Raine's car accident over New Years had left her with a dislocated knee which had to be braced and her wrist was broken in three different places. Her knee had healed nicely and was right on track with where it needed to be. She was even walking on it without her crutches! Her knee was obviously still kind of stiff and sore so she couldn't do everyone everything that she wanted to but she could definitely handle walking around the carnival with her boyfriend if he was okay with her going kind of slow... And the fact that she was gripping onto his arm like a snake held onto its prey.
She wasn't doing this to be some kind of a little shit and show the world that she was his girlfriend or anything. She was just using him for balance that she didn't really need to be honest. She'd be fine walking on her own but she was overly cautious about hurting herself again. What if she slipped? What if she could never dance again? She was pushing everything to be healed so she could get back into the studio but her damn wrist just wasn't corrupting and it was the most frustrating thing in the world. She was even sick of the damn purple cast that she was so eager to show off before even with all the cute signatures and stickers.
"Are you hungry? I really want a donut burger." She also really wished that she had a jacket right now but she didn't want to be rude and ask him if she could steal his. How horrible would that be? 'Oh hey I forgot my jacket so give me yours'? Her irresponsibility wasn't his job to fix and he was under no obligation to hand over his jacket but if he happened to notice that she was shivering and happened to hand it over then she wasn't going to object.

Caroline didn't trust just anyone to watch over her precious dumpling of happiness so the fact that she was allowing Scott to watch over her while she and Aubrey had couple fun actually showed more affection towards him than anything else that she could do. She wasn't the love-y dove-y type who spent hours telling everyone how much that she cared about them and she couldn't make beautiful poetry for anyone so doing small things like this was the best that most people would ever get. The exceptions to this rule were obviously the two most important people in the world to her - Aubrey and Camila. She'd been asked before who she loved the most, her fiance or her daughter and she was slowly realizing that it didn't need to be a one more than the other type of thing. She'd grown up in a home with parents who were not in love and openly loved their children more.
She used to think that was how she was going to parent her children. She didn't even put any thought into just loving her child (hopefully soon to be children) and her fiance equally until now as she looked at Aubrey and realized that she'd never been more in love with anyone in her life. She'd experienced similar feelings when Camila was born but again it was different. She was bound to her daughter for the rest of her life by genetics and other major factors but she and Aubrey were together by choice. There was no law saying that parents had to be in a relationship to successfully raise a child and that made their relationship special. "Hey baby.. I know that I don't say this a lot but I'm really glad that you're here with me." Didn't say it a lot? She said it almost daily.
She wanted to make him feel extra special tonight which is why she led him to the little booth with the stuffed prizes. She was going to win him a stuffed Hello Kitty! All that she had to do was get the ring on the bottle which couldn't be that hard, right? "Aubrey, I'm going to win you that giant Hello Kitty!" She failed miserably the first time but the second time, she managed to get it. All that it took was getting one ring around one bottle and slipping the guy a crisp twenty dollar. "See, I told you that I would win you one.. kind of." The plush was exactly the same size that Camila had been when she was a newborn which she hoped would make him want another baby. "Look at the size.. remember when Camila was that small?"

Isabel actually found the boy's clear nerves to be quite adorable. It'd been awhile since a boy had actually been nervous to talk to her so this was a much appreciated change. She tried not to show how amused that she was with the whole situation because she didn't want to make him feel like he was just a piece of entertainment for her. She was actually genuinely curious about him. How old was he? Where did he go to school? What the hell was his name even? She'd just noticed that he'd introduced his little adorable niece but not himself. "And what's your name, cutie boy?" She asked with a raised brow before she glanced over her shoulder. She was always doing that like she was hoping for that off chance that her ex-boyfriend would be there.
She could say no that she didn't want him back and that all that she wanted was for him to see that she was fine without him. But, it was a lie. She knew deep down in her heart that she would happily give him one more chance. She didn't want to feel like that anymore and that was why she had to spend more time with this guy because the only way to truly move on from her heartbreak was finding someone to help her pick up the pieces. She knew that the chances of this particular boy leading to something serious was probably like a million to one but maybe that didn't matter. Maybe the first part to recovery was just finding someone else who she could see herself caring about like that.
"Hey do you two want to come and look at the baby animals with me?" She ticked Camila gently before musing affectionately, "I'm sure that this little cutie face would enjoy looking at the little sheep." She had sort of a thing for baby sheep.

Courtney would be lying if she tried to say that she wasn't at all worried about Jamie not showing up tonight. She couldn't blame him if he didn't come since this relationship was risky to both of them. He could probably get suspended at the very least and she would definitely lose her job at Somerset if not her teaching license all together. She'd worked so hard to graduate college and high school with honors only to risk everything for some boy who probably didn't even give her a second thought. How dare he stand her up like this! She was all ready to pull out her phone and text him a long rant about how incredibly rude that he was when she felt someone walk into her.
How rude was that! Didn't they realize that she didn't need this right now? She turned her head around to give him a nice long lecture about how impolite that he was being when she noticed that it was Jamie and suddenly most of her anger faded right away. "Hey! Oh, you didn't startle me!" She wasn't necessarily lying when she said that he hadn't startled her because he hadn't. He'd just almost made her punch him in the face but that wasn't important for him to know just yet. "It's so nice to see you." She probably shouldn't have but she offered him a warm embrace and pressed her lips against each of his cheeks twice.
She knew that it probably looked romantic and maybe it even felt like a pick up to Jamie but she was trying to convince herself that it wasn't. She just couldn't allow herself to have feelings for him! "You know what smells really good? A donut burger." Was that a subtle hint? She didn't want to be too obvious that she was trying to get him to buy her things but she was never very good at casual hinting.

( www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=93665462 ) How did she get stuck with this job, again? Lexiel didn't remember, but it must've been a time of poor judgement because her 'coworker' was none other than the lovely Wyatt Parks. It seemed as though after the disappearance of his troll, Lexiel saw him more often than usual--much more than she was comfortable with. Ever since the incident after soccer practice that one time, whenever the two of them were put together, it was always so awkward. "Why don't you just stay on your side of the booth and we'll both survive the night," she muttered under her breath as she made some last minute adjustments to their booth, such as straightening out the sign over their heads. Lexiel dabbed at her lips with the back of her hand to remove any excess lipstick just in case things got a little messy. This particular shade of nude was her current favorite from the Urban Decay line, but the product transferred on to everything that her lips touched. Yes, tough girls like make up too. With a sigh, she pulled out a folding chair and took a seat. Carnivals were fun and all, but the weather right now was less than awesome. Of course, that didn't stop the teenagers from flocking to the event. As she turned to speak to Wyatt, Lexiel's first 'customer' arrived, leaning over the booth and waiting for her to plant one on him. With a grunt of annoyance, she pulled him by the front of his shirt and kissed him before lightly shoving him away.

As Jude came up, her eyes quickly scanned him up and down. Instinctively she tried to tear him apart. Attempting to read into him to see where he was most vulnerable and needed help. It was typical for young children with their parents to visit the booth, or even couples. Rarely she had another teenager approach her alone. Unless he was some kind of crazed animal enthusiast.
Heather nodded in response, containing a laugh as his words reassured her. A small smile remained as she reached for his collection of coins. She snatched it greedily as if her life depended on the mere scraps of change he had to offer. "You can feed as many animals as you like, as long as you're in here. If you leave and come back you'll have to pay again." Her voice was robotic. Without bothering to count the money, she tossed it into a small leather purse strapped to her side.
"My name's Heather." She offered him friendly. "I've got nothing better to do either. She rolled her eyes toward the game booths quietly sighing. This job really blowed. She'd much rather be out having fun. Did this stupid tent really even need an attendant? She crossed her arms as she tried to hide the goose flesh rising on her skin. It was a wonder these animals didn't freeze.
"Hey haven't I seen you around somewhere..." Heather began to ask, her back turned to him as she lead the way to the rabbit pens. Spinning back around, she held out a gray and white tuffed head rabbit. She began to spew out random facts that she was supposed to to each customer. "This one's called Leo, he's the sweetest. His breed is called lionhead. Weird right?" Facing towards him again, she had discovered where she had seen him before. School, of coarse. He was probably a grade or two younger than her, but she was sure she had seen him between classes or during lunch hour. That's right, he was the boy she had seen sitting next to that lonely nerd one time. Instant respect.

"Yeah probably, if you go to school around here," he shrugged. He wasn't one to judge by appearances because if someone was willing to talk to him, then he was going to talk to them, that was a good start right? If he was being honest with himself then she was a little bit freaky looking, but he wasn't scared by that. He was honestly nice to everyone that tried to talk him, because he was a nice person.
"I'm Jude," he said, and held out a hand for her to shake, "I really like bunnies, we used to have one when I was little but then my mom got rid of it when my little sister was born," he was pretty sure that she didn't really care about his life story, so he wasn't going to tell it to her, just that tiny bit of information that was relevant to this, and he was trying to keep up a conversation. "Lion head? that is weird," he scrunched up his eyebrows, "Do you know why?" to be honest he was only asking so that he could go home and tell his brother something he didn't know. That was a good life goal to have right? To know random facts that your sibling didn't know.
He looked at the bunny, it was cute he had to admit. "Ah Leo, that's a nice name," he didn't know where he was going with that, so he reached out to pet the bunny in her arms. "He's cute."

When Aubrey had first met Caroline, he took a good long look at her. It was hilarious how he technically examined her and knew that she was the one. Who knew his boyish charms — and dim-witted ways would make Caroline fall. Fall into his trap but eventually have her fall for him. They were so in love it was dangerous. Aubrey would forgive anything which was very foolish of his part but he couldn't help it. He just couldn't because he truly was enamored by this gorgeous brunette. He smiled softly and looked Caroline in the eyes, "I'm glad you're here too." he slowly moved a hand along her jawline, leaning down to give her a soft kiss on the lips. It was extremely natural and appropriate. They probably got a couple of sighs from the people passing them by. How could they not?
Aubrey trusted Scott with Camila. He was her uncle and above all, he in a way, had always taken care of him. Being a genius and all, Scott would advice Aubrey what to eat and what not to eat. Whether he was doing the right thing and he usually was the one to keep him out of trouble. So if Aubrey himself was safe with his younger brother, his daughter would be more (considering all her screws were tightly done). When they approached that game stand with the bottles and rings, Aubrey smiled proudly. He was so lucky to have someone like Caroline. He was the one who was supposed to be winning a prize for her but she was always one step ahead. She had even proposed to him! How more lucky could this guy even get? He looked to Caroline in her concentration and determination to win him the Hello Kitty plush hanging with the rest of the plushes on the prize wall. When Caroline finally succeeded, Aubrey smiled and cheered. He didn't quite notice that his fiancé had paid the guy running the game a crisp $20 buck and only really noticed she had "won" the plush for him.
"I love you so much!" Aubrey chimed, pecking her on the cheek and taking the plush. He then nodded in reply to Camila and how she was as small as the prize. "Yeah, she was so darn cute. Well, she still is but much bigger. I could carry her on my forearm, she was so tiny." he rhapsodized fond of the memories when Cami was just a newborn. "Wanna head out to the Ferris wheel? They say it's extremely romantic, kissin' at the top, watching the sky — what do you say?" he smiled warmly. In hopes that she would accept his invitation.
"My name..." Scott echoed softly, pondering his very own name. Well, a gal this pretty sure brought the fool out of the wise boy. He then realized how silly he was looking, "Scott Randall Sawyer, at your service." he finally said, smiling nervously. He could feel the stickiness of Camila's cotton candy on his neck and ear. Although he could do very little about it for the moment. It was difficult looking Isabel in the eyes; she had very pretty ones. So blue and big and bright. Compared to Scott's dull grey ones. His lashes were so long they made him seem quite dull altogether. He blinked a couple of times to discreetly hide the fact that he had been gazing into her eyes for far too long. Had Isabel called him cutie boy? Well the peach fuzz along Scott's upper lip was breaking a quick sweat. With all this perspiration the boy was sure to disappear of melt. It would be much more reasonable if the weather was hot but it was very cold therefore it made no sense.
When Isabel looked over her shoulder, Scott got even more nervous. Was she already getting bored of him? Oh, he couldn't blame her. He wasn't too interesting to begin with. Who was Scott kidding, she probably had a boyfriend or could be walking around the carnival with a guy who was more handsome and smooth than him. He was drenching in sweat, had cotton candy stuck to his ear and neck and was probably even red in the face.
It surprised Scott when Isabel asked if he and Cami wanted to see the baby animals with her. Maybe he wasn't so boring after all? Or maybe she was only asking because she thought his niece was the cutest thing? Camila giggled and laughed, she loved having her tummy tickled. She smiled ever so jubilantly before nodding quickly, "I love baby sheep." she just hoped her uncle would say yes. He seemed to be really nervous and there was water coming out of his skin. She poked his face and felt that it was burning. Her tiny finger left a white mark in contrast to the redness. "We'd love to. Yes." he answered, stammering slightly while nodding. As they began walking toward the spot where the baby animals were located, Scott felt like he should make conversation and asked Isabel, "Are you from around here?"

"Yeah, yeah. I go to Somerset." She confirmed. Lifting her hand under the bunny, awkwardly she reached for his outstretched hand. Skeletal like fingers shook his hand gently, then she pushed the rabbit towards him. "You should know how to hold them then." She stated softly, looking down at the rabbit now nestled in his arms. "I'm not really sure, no. I think its because their fur wraps up around their head like a lions mane.. See?" She said bending forward circling a finger across it's head and around its neck. It was kind of cute, she had to admit. Or at least cuter when he was holding it. Passing him a small carrot, she nodded encouraging him to feed Leo.
"Lucky, I don't have any siblings." Or family. As he made the small conversation, her eyes burned with jealousy. She was easily read, though she didn't mind outwardly showing her emotions. This was a job though, she couldn't bluntly shoo people away for being happy and having what she didn't. Plastering a smile on her face she tried to change the subject, "Are you any good with fair games? I could tell you the secret to the balloon popping stand if you want." She had helped set up that particular booth so knew the placement of the balloons. Which ones to aim for, and that had the biggest prize in them. Even if he wasn't very good, the game was simple and almost always guaranteed a small prize. Throw a needle at a balloon, inside would be a number of the prize you win. Only a select few held the number for the giant prizes.
Heather felt awkward for the suggestion, its not like she was trying to get him to cheat. It was against the rules for her to play herself, though she had her eye set on a large purple stuffed panda. All the games were rigged anyway, might as well try something that you had a high chance of winning at. She wasn't hinting for him to win her one either, simply making conversation. "I mean.. If you were meeting friends or something here, you could easily win and impress someone." She held up and waved her hands in front of her defensively with a small smile.
