Dallas had felt really bad about all of the shit and turmoil that he had pulled Thalia, Esme and Kevin into. Especially Esme. Apart from the day he was about to leave, she hadn't said anything to him in the past week and he didn't blame her. He was foolish and disgusting and he wouldn't talk to him either. As a giant apology, he had gotten her and Jon a room at a romantic resort and spa for the weekend. They even had a kid's program there that would allow the parents to have time to themselves but still be able to have fun with their children. That was only the first of many things that he was planning on doing for her to say how sorry he was. For Kevin, he got him back stage tickets to meet his favorite band and be able to hand out with them for the night after the concert. He also fixed the big ding in his car and threw in a tune up and much needed new tires. And for Thalia, he had something a little more special planned out. He had asked his aunt and uncle if he could borrow the keys to their vacation cabin an hour north of the City. It took a lot of persuasion but they finally agreed and told him to be safe and take care of it. He assured them that there wouldn't be any parties because he was done drinking and being stupid. After his bad trip, the thought of being drunk made him want to scream and throw up. He hadn't told Thalia where they were going, but told her to pack warm clothes and whatever else she needed. He only told her they were going somewhere cold, that was it. When they got into the little town, he got all excited and antsy because he wanted to show how how adorable the cabin was. He hadn't thought out everything that they would do over the two and a half days that they were there, but he knew that he would be taking her skiing or snowboarding at some point seeing as there was a ski resort in the town. When he pulled into the snow covered driveway, his smile got big and he was almost shaking he was so excited. "I'm really glad you came with me." Dallas said, pulling up to the cute little house. "We're here." He said, parking his car and stepping out to go and unlock the door. It was freezing inside but he knew there was plenty of wood in the back shed to keep a fire going for the time they would be there. When Thalia joined him inside, he gave her a gently nudge in the arm, "I'll make a fire while you unpack." It hadn't taken him long to get it going, and after it caught, Dallas went and retrieved his two bags from the car. He set them down on the bed and hung his shirts up in the closets, and put his jeans away in an empty drawer. He stuffed his swim trunks in there as well before shutting it. He knew that his aunt and uncle hadn't come up here before they did, so he knew there wasn't any food since it had been two months since they'd last been here. He could pick up some soda and snack stuff while they were here, but for their first night, he wanted to take her out to dinner. And the second, he was wanting to give cooking himself a shot. His boots made thuds on the wood floor as he walked back into the living room in search of Thalia.

Thalia was a little confused on where Dallas was taking her... He had told her to pack warm clothes, but then told her to bring her bathing suit. She shrugged off that fact though and ended up packing way more than she really had to. When he picked her up from the dorm, it wasn't long until the "Are we there yet?" and the "How much longer?" sentences came out. It was pretty much the whole ride she was asking those two questions, and "where are we going?" She was pretty sure if they hadn't gotten there any sooner he probably would have strangled her just from annoying the crap out of him so badly. Thalia leaned forward looking around when he pulled up into the driveway with a huge grin on her face. She turned to and looked at Dallas, "I'm glad I did too." She smiled and kissed his cheek before getting out of the car at the same time he did. She went around to the back of the car and grabbed her suitcase from the trunk before meeting him up by the door. Once she stepped inside she was met by Dallas who nudge her playfully and she couldn't help but let out a giggle when his elbow hit her playfully. "Sounds like a plan, where's the room?" She asked before going towards where he pointed her to. She walked into the room where he had told her to go pulling her suitcase along behind her. Once she got into the room she lifted her suitcase onto the bed before zipping it open and beginning to put her pj's, bras, and panties in another along with her bikini. After doing that she went and hung up her shirt's and her pants in the closet before grabbing her ziploc bags full of all her makeup and shower stuff she'd need. She closed the suitcase before pulling it off the bed and putting it on the floor. She left their bedroom for the time being and went into the bathroom setting her stuff in the shower and on the counter before turning off the light and closing the door behind her. She went back into the living room to see the fireplace already lit up and he was no where to be seen. Thalia went and sat down beside the fireplace on the ground enjoying the warmth before hearing Dallas's footsteps about five minutes later. When he came into sight she stood up from the ground and walked over to him. "This place is amazing Dallas." She said wrapping her arms around his neck hugging him tightly. "You're amazing." She added on to what she was saying before pulling away . "So what do you want to do? What all is there to do here?" Her eyes went big as she spoke looking up at him with her big blue eyes. Staying here with Dallas made her feel so excited, she loved being with him and hanging out with him. It was pretty much obvious to anyone if they looked at her while she was with him. The real her easily came out and she was able to loosen up and be herself with him unlike she was able to be with anyone else. She loved that feeling, and she was crazy about him. Of course she'd never have the guts to tell him that though. She was too scared to say something and ruin everything they had built up between them. If he said something though, that'd be different. She wouldn't be as shy to open up and tell him her feels. Of course, that would now happen though.

When Dallas was done unpacking and headed back for the living room, he stopped at the corner and smiled to himself when he saw Thalia sitting and staring at the fire. She looked so unbelievably pretty sitting there and he couldn't help but think that she looked absolutely perfect in that moment and he felt like this outing was the right idea for the both of them. They had desperately needed a break from the bullshit at Somer. Her with the burn blog, him with his own personal destruction. He looked away and pretended like he hadn't been staring at her when she stood up and walked up to him.
"It's my aunt and uncle's." He said, embracing her hug. When she pulled away, he let his hand rest on her hips and he thought about what all there was to do. "Hmm... Well, there's a ski resort in town that I wouldn't mind giving a shot. There's ice fishing and~ Oh my God, do you remember when you were seven and my dad took us fishing that winter? And he didn't make the whole big enough so when you tried to reel in your fish, you lost it?" Dallas laughed at the memory and how upset they were over it seeing it was the only bite that day. "Ha, and then when we were leaving, I busted my ass and slipped and then got so mad because you laughed?" His laugh was genuine and it felt nice to have a real one for a change.
He had forgotten about his hands being on her and suddenly dropped them to his sides. Dallas was glad that it was heating up in the little cabin and was proud that his fire had taken off so nicely. "I was thinking we could go out and do something, then grab dinner tonight. There's this really awesome little diner in town that my aunt was telling me about." He said, moving to sit on the couch. He pulled his Carhartt off and laid it over the back. In that moment, he didn't feel like they were in New York. He felt like they were home in Kentucky and everything was simple and quiet. It was nice to think about, but he was glad that Thalia and Esme had talked him out of leaving. "It's whatever you wanna do, Thal. I'm down for anything." He smiled, resting one arm over the back of the sofa.

When she pulled away and he left his hand on her hips, at the same time she still had her hand on his bicep resting there. Thalia listened to what he was saying before her head tilted back a little and she began to laugh. "Oh my gosh, how can I not remember that? You also your foot stuck in that hole and me and your dad had to pull you out! " She could remember that memory like it was yesterday, and when he continued on about it her laugh became harder. "You shoved me to the ground when I laughed! I still hold a grudge about that..." She watched as he dropped his hand from her hip and she soon dropped her hand from his arm afterwards.
Thalia followed him over to the couch sitting next to him and putting her legs over his curling up next to him as he talked. "We should go skiing tomorrow, for sure. But tonight going out to eat and just hanging out here next to the fire sounds great. " She smiled up at him and couldn't help but think about any other better moment with him than this. She would have taken off her leather jacket to sit there with him, but she kept it on since she was freezing. Aside from the fact it was snowing and really cold outside, it didn't help the fact she was Anemic and got cold easily just from that. The fact that Dallas had built and started a fire definitely helped it.
It was only about five minutes of sitting on the couch by the fire until Dallas said "lets go." They got into the car and the drive wasn't far until they got to the diner and Pam (Dallas's aunt for anyone who doesn't know.) was definitely right about it being a cute little diner. When they pulled up Thalia hadn't been so happy to get into a warm place since she got into the cabin by the fire. Once they got in , they sat down and had a good little dinner. It was a cute little place and they had good food.
(Skipping now because idk what i'm getting at and Janelle said I could. XD )
After dinner they headed back to the cabin and once they got inside Thalia closed the door behind them and looked up at Dallas. "I'm going to go get changed into Pajamas, i'll be right back." She smiled at him before walking into their room in the cabin. The room was so peaceful and so was being at this cabin with him... She wanted to admit her feels so badly to him, more than anything. But she wasn't completely sure if it would effect anything they had. She got changed out of her jacket, jeans, shirt, and boots into a pair of gray sweatpants and a pink long sleeve shirt. She wasn't so concerned in looking amazing for Dallas, because well... She was confident around him. Plus, she didn't look bad. She looked cute and comfortable.

The diner was everything that he hoped for and it really made him feel good that the food wasn't utter shit. His aunt was right about the place. It reminded him a little of home with how everyone was so friendly and acted like they'd known each other for years even though this was the first time Dallas and Thalia had been there. After they'd eaten and relaxed, Dallas paid and they headed back to the cabin. He made a pit stop at a store in the small little town and pulled Thalia inside with him. It was a little bakery type place that smelled like heaven in a little box. Dallas had her looks at all of the cakes and choose one while he wondered around and found some fresh chocolate covered strawberries that, truth be told, were his biggest weakness.
When they got back to the cabin, he put their treats in the fridge and nodded as she said that she was going to go change. He took the opportunity to go get another bundle of wood for the fire which was dwindled down to nearly nothing but a few embers. When he came back, he called out to Thalia to stay in the room until he gave her the okay. Dallas got the fire going yet again, and then went to the closet near the hall bathroom to retrieve three thick blankets in which he laid two on the floor in front of the fire and set the other aside. Then, he pulled the pillows and cushions from the couch and made a little cozy area atop the blankets.
Dallas then kicked off his boots by the door and told her she could come out. He let her wonder out into the living room while he quickly slipped into a pair of sweatpants himself, slapping his jacket on the bed and then headed out where she was. Dallas took a seat in the circle of pillows and looked ahead at the fire. It was so nice to get away from the world and who better to run with than Thalia? He laid on his back, resting his head on one of the pillowed so he could still see the fire. He didn't say anything, but let off a relaxed sigh before looking up at her. One corner of his mouth curled up and as he halfed a smile. There was so much that he had been feeling since she got up to New York and there was no way that he would ever be able to tell her. For now, his actions were going to have to speak louder than his words while he simply hoped that he could find the courage to speak on it.

Thalia froze when she heard him hollered to her not to leave the room until he said so and she couldn't help but laugh and just step back into the room. She didn't know what he was up too, but she was sort of anxious to know what he was doing that made her not allowed to walk out of the room until he said so. When she heard the okay she walked out into the hallway passing him awkwardly watching him walk into their bedroom before she walked out into the living room letting out a small little gasp. It was so cute and looked like the best place in the whole cabin to lady does and relax. She went and sat down by the fire once more like she had done earlier. She brought her knees to her chest taking in the heat from the fire as she let out a small shiver. She glanced up when she heard Dallas come back in a smiled at him.
Her eyes followed him from the hallway he came out from the bedroom until he was laying beside her. She watched as he leaned back and smiled back at him when he smiled at her. She crawled over beside him laying down curling up next to him wrapping in arm around him trying to get some of his body heat. She laid her head down on his shoulder getting comfortable before closing her eyes. She wasn't sure how to even tell him, but she knew if she didn't tell him it would kill her on the inside. Holding back feelings like this for so long, it just wasn't healthy and she knew that. She brought her arm back to herself instead of having it on him and leaned up after a couple minutes. "Dallas, I need to talk to you about something..."
Her voice was a little bit more than a whisper when she had said that, and she was a little nervous he didn't hear her. But when she got the okay from him for talking, she sat up more indian style before looking at him. "Well... I-uh-I..." She stuttered to find her words before biting her bottom lip thinking for a minute.Just shut up while you're ahead... Dallas wouldn't like a fat fuck like you... Remember what the burn blog said? You're just a fat whore. "Dallas, I... I've had a crush on you since we were kids and as we got old there was always something keeping me from telling you... But I just wanted to know where you stood on this topic because I like you Dallas... A lot, and I just had to get that out there and off my chest." Her face started a light pink when she was talking and soon turned to a bright red as she stopped talking and looked down from his eyes and to her hands which were now on in her lap.

Dallas nestled his jaw to her when she curled up next to him. For a second, he wondered if she could hear how fast his heart was pounding merely because he was suddenly nervous. And her saying that she needed to tell him something worried him down to his core being. The only thing he could think of was that she was pregnant. He wouldn't really doubt it, even if he had used a condom, but still... it only takes once, right? He became very scared as he had a flash of Kat and when she told him she was pregnant. What if Thalia left too?
When she continued, and sat up, he watched her. Dallas copied and sat up, his ankles crossed and his forearms rested on his knees as he mentally prepared himself for her to bomb on him. He chewed his bottom lip anxiously and stared at the floor. I like you Dallas... a lot. Wait... what? Did he miss something or had she just said... what? Dallas slowly looked over at her and then quietly asked, "Really?" just before smiled at her. Dallas felt all giddy inside knowing that she felt something that he had only been really feeling for the past two months. She had been pulling him out of a very dark and dangerous place and for that, he was the most grateful. He knew that he would probably either be in jail or dead if it weren't for Thalia and Esme's efforts to try and keep him sane and in that moment, right there in front of the fire, he knew he was going to be okay.
"Thal?" He started after the room grew quiet. Dallas looked down and then twisted his body until he was on his hands and knees and their faces were inches apart. "I guess it's kinda a surprise, but I've got a lil' something to tell you, too." He leaned forward and let his lips brush against hers before he whispered, "Y'know... I definitely like you too.... baby girl." He smiled a little bit before leaning in to kiss her just to show that he was serious, even if he was scared as his hand trailed up to her jaw. When he was younger, he used to think that if he had ever kissed Thalia, that it would be like kissing a sister. He had proven himself wrong as of late. Kissing her was like kissing his favorite celebrity, like that powerful of a spark just wasn't humanly possible, but it was. When Dallas pulled away, he remained on his hands and knees, just looking at her.

Thalia looked up from her hands to Dallas when he asked 'Really?' She nodded without saying a word as she watched him. When he smiled at her she got butterflies in her stomach and she looked down once more as her face got hotter and turned a dark red. She looked up once more when he said her name , "Yeah?" She watched as he moved towards her and she smiled as his lips brushed against his. Her heart dropped when he said he liked her too and she couldn't help but smile into the kiss even more when he leaned into the kiss. Her hand moved to his cheek almost at the exact same time his moved her jaw . When he pulled away she kept eye contact like he did with her.
Kissing Dallas and knowing that he liked her like she liked him... It made her feel so good on the inside. Dallas was more than a best friend to her, and he always has been. It wasn't that old brother type of best friend either. It was that kind of best friend that in the future you could see yourself dating and by chance falling in love with after years of dating. Not saying that would happen with them, but he was that kind of best friend. Their dads used to BBQ and talk about how one day they would end up dating and getting married and having kids. Of course that was just them talking for the hell of it when they were seven. But them being together when they were back in Kentucky was something everyone would talk about, but back then it was a joke.
Thalia looked over at the fire trying to relax herself since her face was still bright red and she was lost in her words. "Y'know... I definitely like you too.... baby girl." Those words kept repeating over and over again in her head making her smile more to herself. she had relaxed a little and the redness went down, she looked back over at him before moving from sitting Indian style to on her knees. Once she was on her knees she leaned over and wrapped her arms around his neck hugging him tightly. She let out a laugh as her chin rested on his shoulder. "I'm really happy you said you like me too, otherwise... That conversation could have got pretty awkward." She let out a giggle before pulling away and sitting back down on her butt.
She was lost in words again as she was still thinking about everything that had just played out. She was just so happy about everything that just happened. She looked back up at him with a smile. "So... Where does that leave us ?" She asked biting the inside of her bottom lip thinking. She was worried this all might be too soon for him and that alone worried her. She knew he was still hung up over Kat, which is something she worried about when it came to stuff getting in the way of the two of them ever dating if it had came down to it. But she understood if he wasn't ready for that reason
