James didn't really know what he was supposed to do with these damn teenagers anymore! They definitely didn't act like he did when he was a teenager which was probably a good thing. He didn't want to imagine what the world would be like if everyone was as obsessed with sexual things or alcoholic beverages as he was. He just didn't appreciate the fact that he had to buy safety scissors or that he had to worry about that kid with the great hair eating the paste or the paint or trying to stick a crayon up his nose to color his brain. Could someone actually color their brain? Because that would actually be kind of cool now that he thought about it. Could you request that if you had like brain surgery? How could would it be if a doctor could actually paint things on your brain? Everything would be as pretty on the inside as it hopefully was on the outside. He didn't think that ugly people should really have the option to be pretty on the inside - it just wasn't fair. Why should someone who could literally break a mirror with their face be allowed to have a beautiful inside? He was just glad that everyone in this class
"Okay class! I have decided that we're going to do a little art project which you can probably tell since there's art supplies on the table." He cleared his throat and took a sip of scotch. Should he be drinking during class? Probably not. He didn't really care though because he knew that most of his students appreciated having him here and the principal probably didn't care either. "You will have exactly five minutes to get into groups at your tables and if everyone isn't in a group then I'm going to put the names in a hat and this will be random." He nodded before sitting on his desk and placing his rabbit Lord Fluffington on his lap to pet the darling thing. He didn't even understand how people didn't like bunnies! How could anyone resist such a fluffy little munchkin of love and sparkles and happiness? He'd even given his furry friend a birthday party this past month which was more than he was planning on doing for his horrible wretched wife.
He was literally planning on giving these awful art projects to his wife for her birthday and claiming them as his own handmade pieces. He was hoping that she was going to believe that he was really as retarded as these little babies in this room. "Okay now everyone team up!" He threw some glitter in the air before setting a timer on his phone for five minutes so everyone knew that he wasn't lying about the fact that they only had a couple of minutes to get into their groups before he made everyone random. "Also! The paint is non-toxic but please do not eat it."

There never really seemed to be any work to do in this class, and it was great. The fact that the teacher was drinking was making him nervous, but that was only because of the memories he kept thinking about. He was trying so hard to just move on and get over the past that he was making it hard for himself. He was never good at art, and the last time he had been in an art class he ended up with a deformed mug that did nothing but sit in his closet. Art wasn’t fun and he didn’t have the creative brain to make it happen.
So when the teacher announced that they were going to be doing art he was surprised, but then again when was anything in this class ever normal? They were always doing weird things in here so he didn’t expect it to just be another day in English class. He just wanted to take a nap, and well yeah. He didn’t feel like doing any of this art stuff, what was he even supposed to do with safety scissors? He was staring at the ones that he picked up from the basket on the table. “Were regular scissors too dangerous for us teenagers or…? He wasn’t really talking to anyone in particular, just anyone that was going to listen to him complain.
When in all actuality he would take this art project over a serious class any day. He didn’t feel like doing the work most of the time, and had to at least try a little bit to keep his grades up, and basically did the most work that was required and half assed it most of the time. So he wasn’t the best student in the world, and he sucked at art, which meant this project was going to be just amazing right? He laughed at the pain being non-toxic thing, “Do I get out of class if I do eat it?” he said under his breath. When he was a little kid he used to paint all over himself instead of painting the paper, which made his parents mad.
He also ate crayons more than once, but had never eaten glue before. “I feel like I’m in kindergarten again,” to some people that might be a good thing, some people thought kindergarten was when you were innocent, but he didn’t see it that way. Why keep looking back when you could look forward?

Rachel absolutely loved art projects! She had never lost that childish part of her that was filled with joy and giddiness when she was around glitter and crayons. This is exactly why she loved being in James's classroom so much because he always had some glitter to throw in the air and she didn't even mind the fact that she had to spend extra time at the end of the night washing it out of her hair because it had a tendency to stick which made absolutely no sense to her. She adjusted her flower headband before standing up to try and get into her group before their five minutes were up. "Rachel Reed! Wyatt Mexican Satan Parks! You two have to be in a group." James announced with a small grin. She didn't quite understand why he looked so wicked when he said that and she found herself feeling mildly concerned by the whole situation. What was he planning? They weren't on the shipping list and it was updated daily!
If she could read minds then she would know that he was doing this whole wicked thing because she 'looked like Carol Maree only prettier and of a more reasonable height'. "You feel like you're in kindergarten again too? I think that my kindergarten class actually looked exactly like this." She glanced around the room before adding with a small laugh, "Actually I think that my kindergarten class might have actually been a little bit more mature than this." She wanted to loosen up a little when she spoke to attractive guys like this one in front of her. It wasn't like she was some timid little thing hiding in a corner but she wasn't nearly as outgoing as like say Esme Russel who put herself out there all the time. She had more of a fear of rejection than anything else and she let it get in her way sometimes.
She sat down in one of the chairs at his table and reached for the Elmer's glue bottle and a small container of pink glitter. Glitter was seriously her favorite color in the world! She made an outline along the edging of the paper plate with glue before shaking out some glitter to create a nice sparkly border. She always had a creative spirit even if it didn't always turn out looking like some masterpiece that belonged in a museum. She was just happy that her mother still loved and appreciated all of her work! She wanted this to look especially lovely because she was hoping that people other than her own family would find it cute. Was that so much to ask for?
She'd never ate the paint before so when James warned everyone yet again, she was confused. She had, however, ate some glitter as a child because she wanted to sparkle on the inside and on the outside so she didn't comment on it either way. She was still honestly trying to figure out why he'd decided to make her and Wyatt pair up! Yeah, she wasn't calling him 'Mexican Satan' even if James did it quite often. At least he always threw him a piece of candy when he did it, right? Like now when he threw him a mini package of kit-kats.

"I'm not sure if I like being called Mexican Satan or not," he said when James called him that and told him that he had to be in a group with Rachel. Was it weird that she reminded him of Carol, well she did look sort of like her, except she was more attractive. Was that a bad thing to think, that the girl he had been with for the past year of his life wasn't that attractive to him at the moment. He wasn't sure where the thought had come from, but he didn't like the thought that might had been in the back of his mind the entire relationship, and he discovered more and more thoughts he had during that relationship once he started to see past her. Like that she was really controlling, it was easy to be controlled and not notice it but now that he could do whatever he wanted he was noticing just how bad she was.
Or the fact that she was really short. It was so much easier to be with a girl who was normal height, he noticed that too. It was like, he was starting to realize that they wern't meant to be together, and the fact that he kept obsessing over he was not making it better. He was mean to her in his head as an attempt to push away the fact that he might have still loved her a little bit, and it was chasing those thoughts of love away. That was an easy thing to do now, more then it had been a month ago when he was still upset about her.
"I didn't like kindergarten," he said, he laughed at her when she said her kindergarten class was more mature then this. "My mom bought me this pencil sharpener, with my name on it, and it was shaped like a race car," that was pretty much one of the only things his mom ever got him but he didn't say that. "and this kid kept stealing it and getting lead stuck in it so it wouldn't sharpen right," he was pretty sure the only reason he still cared so much was because his mom never got him anything. "So I told the teacher and she told me to stop being such a whiny brat, and so I never got it back, well until the kid broke it, and then gave it back to me," oh yeah that wasn't fun.
"At least in here we get candy though," he said when he got a package of kit-kats thrown at him. "You want one?" he offered one to Rachel, before he took a paper plate and started coloring it with a red marker. He wasn't sure why he was getting paired up with her, but he was at least going to try and enjoy it because why not. "I like you," he said to her, "You look like this girl I used to date," for an entire year you jerk. he was being casual about it like it wasn't really a big deal when it actually was a huge deal. "Except you're prettier, and more fun," me made a motion at the glitter. For some reason he couldn't imagine Carol as person who liked pink glitter.

Rachel's blue eyes widened when Wyatt explained why he didn't like kindergarten... She could understand his dislike completely now! She wouldn't have been able to tolerate it if someone had been so cruel to her when she was so little. She'd been a sensitive little girl well she still was a sensitive little girl only now she was older and the insults were more intense. "Oh goodness! That little boy sounds like a little poop face." Poop face? Not cursing was really starting to make her look like a giant five year old toddler and not a sixteen year old woman. Was sixteen technically a woman or was she going to have to start associating her life with that Britney Spears' not yet a woman but not a little girl song?
"I don't really know why James feels the need to give everyone nicknames like Mexican Satan.. I mean you don't look anything like Satan. I'm sure that hell would be a happier place if Satan did resemble you." She smiled before taking one of the kit-kats after he offered. It was sort of strange when he commented on how she reminded him of this girl that he used to date. Was that a compliment? Her cheeks turned pink as he added that she was prettier and more fun. What kind of a girl had he been dating before? She'd heard a lot from different people that 'Wyatt Parks was dating an angry awful little midget' but she assumed that they were just being dramatic and letting their emotions and jealousy over the fact that they didn't have him cloud their judgment.
She offered him a warm smile before finally thanking him for the compliment in the end of that little comment. "Thank you for um calling me pretty.. I like you too." She took a small bite out of her chocolate bar before paying more attention to her art project. "I think that this needs more glitter.. Glitter makes everything better even things like heartbreak." She didn't know what had happened between him and that girl but it seemed like, from what she heard from James, that she wasn't a nice person but that Wyatt had really liked her. She looked over him for a second before adding a gentle, "Has anyone ever told you that you're really handsome? You have amazing hair like what kind of product do you use in it?" Was that a strange and inappropriate thing to ask a guy? It wasn't like she was recommending her mango madness shampoo and conditioner or anything too girly!
At least she hadn't caved and done what she really wanted which was to run her fingers through his hair and see if it felt as soft as it looked.

“I mean I might look like Satan, I don’t know what he looks like, so he could be right?” Wyatt didn’t even know what he was talking about. He was looking down at the plate he was coloring, and it just looked like a ball of red scribbles. That was definitely the best art project ever right? “Thanks though,” he wasn’t sure what to say about her compliment, so he kind of just laughed at it, not because he thought it was bad, but it was funny. He never really got told things like that. So it was a surprise when she said that, of course Angry little midget had called him that, but part of him felt like she didn’t mean it. Maybe the burn blog was right when they said she was cheating, he didn’t know but the evidence against her was pretty strong.
He even texted her and told her that he was fucking other people on the side, which wasn’t true, and never got a reply, but for some reason the thought that she had been cheating on him the entire time was a horrible thing to think. He was so… not controlling of her, he even let her hang out with Cooper and he was the first person that she went to, when he was an idiot and dumped her because he didn’t think he was good enough for her. He didn’t care who she was with when she wasn’t with him. He was trusting of her. He didn’t care, and she wouldn’t even let him talk to other girls, really. It was terrible to think that, she was cheating on him the entire time.
He didn’t want to believe it, and she wasn’t here to explain those pictures so he didn’t know what to believe, either way. “Actually I get told that all the time, all the girls want me,” he said with a small laugh. “I get told I have great hair all the time actually, but my product is a secret, you’ll have to come over some time if you really want to know,” and he winked at her and grinned, before reaching for another marker, maybe this was going to be a rainbow ball thing? He didn’t even know what he was doing really. Was it wrong that it felt good to wink at her, and not fear getting in trouble? Like physically, and not through a computer when it actually meant nothing. It was probably not a good thing that he felt like he should do that more often. He would if she was here. To be honest if Angry little midget was there he would probably go around winking at everyone just to piss her off more. Since she apparently hated it.

"Oh really? I guess I will then because I definitely want to know all your hair product secrets." Rachel didn't realize that winking back might send a message that she didn't intend on. Sure everyone else at this school kind of seemed to be incredibly sexually active and she didn't necessarily have any issue with that as long as both were consenting and neither was hiding some sort of disease or purposefully creating a human being that the other party didn't want. She didn't typically judge anyone for their choices as long as nobody judged her for choosing /not/ to have sex until she was married. She'd been called terrible things in the past because of her choice like 'prude' and 'future cat lady'.
She didn't quite understand how that could be an insult! Cats were fabulous little furry creatures with big attitudes and even bigger dreams! She knew that there were some more mean less imaginative people who didn't think that cats /could/ dream but she obviously felt differently. She had watched her cat 'Glitter' sleep enough to know that he could very much dream. Why else would he purr in his sleep? He had to be picturing a nice head rubbing or maybe some tuna salad! She obviously couldn't speak for all of the cats in the world since she only had the one cat but he at least seemed to love anything having to do with tuna. Thinking about tuna led her to another confusing thought - Why was tuna called chicken of the sea? It was so misleading! She'd checked the ingredients at least four times and saw absolutely no chicken.
"Wow! Your art is looking really spiffy." She commented with a wide grin. She was being completely genuine which was strange considering just how much enthusiasm that she currently had in her voice. "I bet that would look really nice if you added some glitter!" She clearly thought that glitter was important as she wrote 'love' in glue in the center of her plate before shaking some sliver glitter onto her masterpiece. This was looking really awesome in her opinion!

He didn’t want to comment on the fact that she had winked back at him, he was suspecting that she didn’t know what that meant, and he didn’t take it as suggestively. He wasn’t trying to be suggestive, but sometimes those things just came out, and he was sure that she didn’t really take it that way. She seemed innocent enough. So when he had said that he didn’t really mean anything behind it, unless she too wanted it then maybe, but to tell the truth, it would probably be weird to do anything with someone he looked so much like Carol. It would be really weird to do something like that with her.
“Glitter?” He looked down at his ball of yellow and red scribble and laughed at her, he didn’t think she was serious, when she said it was good to him it just looked like a mess. He took some glue and poured it on the thing and then sprinkled some glitter on it. “I feel like a fairy or something,” he said. Glitter was a mess it got everywhere, and he had to spend forever getting it out of his hair when James threw it at him. He really didn’t see the need for it, but did it anyway because she told him to. “What’s with your glitter obsession?” he asked curiously.
