Dally's head was blurry as it was nearly two in the afternoon and he had just woken up not even an hour earlier and was severely hungover. When he woke up, Thalia wasn't there and that kind of worried him since he blacked out not too long after they had finished in the bedroom. He faintly remembered both of them going back into the living room and continuing their party with Kevin and his girls that he had over. Plus, Dallas had invited Warren and a few other of his friends who were all passed out when he got up.
With Thalia not being there, Dallas was almost certain that he had fucked something up, like usual. If he had, he wouldn't be forgiving himself for a long time because she had been his best friend for nearly his whole live. He took a quick shower, changed and then headed out towards the school to see if she was in her dorm. It was weird being back in the halls after living on his own for so long. He searched through them, looking for a door that Thalia had certainly decorated and made her own. Dallas did not come up empty handed as he found exactly what he was looking for.
With two simple knocks, he waited outside. Nerves were setting in as he ran his fingers through his still damp hair and anticipated anything she had ready to dish out when.. or if she saw him, assuming she was even there. Dallas took in a deep breath to calm himself and planted his palm on the door frame, resting there with his head hung low.

Thalia had just gotten out of the shower ten minutes prior to hearing a knock on the door. She went home around eleven in the morning when she woke up and everything went right in her head, she realized she slept with Dallas. All of her feelings were gushing in seeing him lying beside her in his bed, so she knew she had to get home. Once she did, she couldn't think about anything other than all the horrible things Dallas was probably going to be thinking about her. I mean, she didn't go there and intending on going on and having sex with her best friend. It just kind of happened as everything fell into place with them both drinking beforehand.
Thalia's face was in her pillow as her hair was drippy wet all over it from not even bothering to rinse it out and dry it a little with towel. She just got dressed and laid right down in bed face first. She knew she was being a little dramatic about the whole situation, alright... Very dramatic. But it's her best friend, his opinion of her mattered and she just gave it up and had sex with him easily which she had never done before. He probably thought she was just an easy ass whore who would have sex with anyone. Which she definitely wasn't, and she knew Dallas didn't think that. But after last night, she had just got little sensitive.
Before she jumped into the shower she was on the phone with Max who she was venting to, who said he might come over later and she just objected saying how she wanted to be alone. As her face was in the pillow and she was laying under her cover sniffling she heard her door get knocked on. She got out of bed slipping on her slippers, "I told you I didn't want to see you Max!" She let out in a whiny voice before walking to her door. Her sleeves of her sweater were down past her hands and her fingers were curled up holding onto it as most of a comfort thing. She opened the door and her eyes went sort of big when she saw Dallas standing there. "Holy shit." She stepped aside to let him in before turning away and wiping her eyes to try and hide the fact she was crying, as if he wouldn't be able to notice with the puffy redness in her face and the smeared makeup under her eyes and the red nose. Once he stepped inside she closed the door behind him. "Hi Dally... Um, not that I don't mind you randomly stopping by, but w-why are you randomly stopping by?" She asked that question as she walked back over to her bed falling face first back into it. Her pillows hard a bunch of black smear marks on them and her sheets looked like she went into a deep slumber and just woke up from how messy tey were.

Dallas pursed his lips as he waited and shifted his weight onto his right foot. He looked up under his eyebrows when he heard Thalia calling out something about Max and then she opened the door and looked rather surprised to see it wasn't her brother. He smiled a little bit when she asked why he randomly stopped by without letting her know first. He gave her a funny look when he noticed her smeared makeup and red face. Had she been crying or could she not get her waterproof mascara off?
When she let Dallas inside, he hesitantly stepped in and looked around. He noticed all of the pictures hanging up and the ones in frames and when he looked closer at one in particular next to her bed, he couldn't help but let off a quiet single laugh. Realizing he still hadn't answered her on why he just randomly showed up, he turned to her and asked, "You still have this?" He asked in reference to the picture he was looking at. It was of him and her at the river when they were eight years old and Dallas had helped her catch a five pound catfish. Well, she caught it but he took credit for it.
Knowing she was still curious and that he was acting.. off, he sighed lightly and took a few steps forward. "I don't know why I came here." He mumbled, trying not to think about the empty feeling he got when he woke up and saw that she wasn't there. Now that he was sober, all of his pent up feelings that he had drowned in numbness were starting to surface again, just as they did ever day.
He rubbed his arm and then started, "Did.. did I do or say anything last night that might have pissed you off?" He asked, taking one step back. "I know I can be a dick when I drink, and.. I don't know, you're my best friend and if I did something.." He trailed off, looking at her wall and then to her.

Thalia looked up as she heard a quiet chuckle from Dallas, seeing what he was looking at she couldn't help but let out a small giggle. It was weird, she was in a terrible mood and yet he could still make her smile. "Of course I still have that! You took credit for my catfish catching." She gave a playful glare before leaning up in the bed. The memory was clear in her head as if it was yesterday since she ran into their little camper that their parents brought to the camp sight screaming how she caught a catfish and Dally sooned to follow came in saying how he actually caught it and just let her hold it.
Thalia set her hands in her lap as she sat with her feet dangling off her bed as she listen to him talk. She wiped her eyes again with the sleeve of her shirt before shaking her head. "No Dally... no. " She stood up shaking her head once more before looking up at him now standing face to face with him. It wasn't long until she remembered all the smeared make up on her face and she walked into her bathroom washing her makeup off slightly feeling bad he had to see her like that. When she walked back out she went back up to him wrapping her arms around his waist.
"Dallas, that's not why I left." She started pulling away and looking up at him. "You did nothing wrong. You were amazing, you... You're perfect. You weren't a dick and you didn't piss me off. " She gave him a small smile before leaning back against her bed and patting the bed beside her. She didn't know how to even begin to explain why she left. She was probably going to sound pathetic, and that's the last thing she wanted to sound when she was talking to Dallas. But it had to come out one way or another, she had to make sure he didn't think she was a slut.
"I just... My own thoughts got the best of me after what happened last night. And don't think you did anything wrong, because you were amazing..." Her face turned red about the fact she told him he was amazing in bed, but she shrugged it off after a couple seconds. "I just... I don't normally get drunk and have sex. And when I do, i'm not that easy. And I don't know why I was with you... I mean, I do... but... " She looked down before looking back up at Dallas. "Do you think I'm a whore?" She spit out suddenly probably way to fast for her own good. But she didn't care. She couldn't hold back that question. It was pretty much eating her from the inside out.

Dallas went back to looking at the picture when she went into her bathroom to do whatever she was doing. Her makeup was almost completely gone when came back and he turned back toward her. He couldn't help but feel that ever painful little sting in his chest when he thought about that fact that it probably was something he did that fucked it up. He always fucked things up with the people he cared for. And now thinking about that, a whole new wave of hurt because of the emptiness he felt when Kat left came back.
Dallas sighed them away, which didn't work but he sat down next to Thalia, only a little further away than she probably waned. It wasn't anything against her, he just didn't even think about it. He avoided eye contact at first trying not to let her see the hurt on his face. Thalia telling him that she didn't normally do those kinds of things made him almost laugh because that's all he had been doing. Getting drunk to the point of blackouts and meeting girls just to have them up and leave after or the morning before he woke up.
If you asked him a year ago what he thought about that, Dallas would have told you that was the life and that's all he ever wanted to do; party and bullshit. But now, using that as an escape from himself, it was breaking him down. It was all a mask. His eyes shot up to her when she asked what he thought about her and her actions. He instantly scooted closer to her and fought the urge to just kiss the shit out of her. "No, Thal. I don't think that." He said, wrapping her up in his arms. "..Is that why you left?" He asked, relieved that she hadn't left solely because of something he might have done.
He let off a slight laugh and scooted back just a little bit. "I don't want to fuck up our friendship. I mean, we've been best friends forever, y'know? I don't want to risk losing that." He laughed again and then said, "How about we not do that again? I mean, as awesome as it was.."

Thalia leaned into him wrapping her arms around his waist tightly. Being in his arms felt so good. When he said he didn't think that she let out a relieved sigh. "Thank god." She whispered into his chest. She nodded pulling away when he asked if that's why she left. "I got makeup on your shirt... I'm sorry." She wiped is shirt a little with the tips of her fingers before looking up at him, "I just don't want you thinking bad about me. You're opinion matters so much." She gave him a said smile.
Best friends forever. Shit. Those words can hit you like fucking stones. Friend zoned officially. Yup, that's what it has came to. She listened to him talk as her head was down and she was looking down at her lap. She didn't know what to say. She wasn't sure whether to tell him how she felt or just let it be. She looked up and nodded with a smile. "It was awesome... But I mean, if you think that's what would be best for our friendship then yeah.. We shouldn't."
Thalia leaned over hugging him once more before pulling away and stretching slightly. "I don't want anything to put our amazing friendship in jeopardy. It's not worth it, especially not when losing a person like you if on the line." She smiled before getting off of her bed. "Sorry you had to see me like.. Well," she gestured to her outfit and her puffy red face. "like this." She let out a laugh before leaning against her wall right next to her bed under her zebra wall design smiling over at him.

~~~~~~~ (a few days later) Dallas was just leaving the counselor's office after he went and talked with them about how badly his grades had been slipping since the shooting and how he had missed nearly a week of school without any explanation, call in's or doctor's notes. His excuse was just family issues that came up without any notice. He left rather flustered, and as he was walking past a line of lockers and realized he was in the hall that Thalia's was. He pulled out little piece of paper from his backpack and used the wall as his flat surface. On it, he wrote, When you get this, I hope you smile. Have a great day, baby girl.☓ DalHe went to find her locker and when he did, he was meant with an ugly sight. Stupid, hurtful words slapped on her locker door in big, bold Sharpie. At first, he felt sad, but then it just pissed him off. Instead of actually getting angry about it, he decided to do something better. He dropped his bag to the ground and dug through it until he found a permanent marker at the bottom along with an expo marker. He used to sit in class and draw on the desks with Sharpie and use the dry erase to get it off and it worked like a charm every time, so, he didn't see why it wouldn't work on a metal locker door too.
His plan worked, and the nasty names and everything were gone and there was room for his light, happy ones. Dallas looked down the hall on either side of him, looking for a teacher or someone that could get him in trouble for vandalizing school property. Also, there was no one so he proceeded on to write words such as 'beautiful', 'wonderful', 'perfect' and a few others that he thought described Thalia down to the point.
After his little rescue mission, he decided to stop by her dorm just to see if she was in so he could say hi. When he got to her door, he knocked twice and waited for a reply.
Thalia couldn't really remember the night before. She could remember however what happened to make her pass out from taking too much Xanax. She was to torturing herself pretty much. She kept making herself throw up, she was going though all of the text messages and posts about her on the burn blogs, and she couldn't stop thinking about what had been written on her locker. It was practically killing her . She eventually just broke down and took her 20 pills of Xanax that were one mg. Soon after that she just passed out on the floor in her bedroom.
She was still sulking about the burn blog as she sat at her desk reading it once more. Beside her was a big glass of water and three packs of Xanax and only one was half full. The others were empty . She looked up when she heard a knock on the door and thought for a second whether she wanted to open it or not. But she figured she probably should encase it was someone important. She had only woke up an hour ago and it was around three in the afternoon. She skipped school and was still in her pajamas as she walked over to the door.
She pulled it open and looked up at Dallas, "hey Dallas." She still looked pretty messed up from being as dizzy and tired as she was yesterday when she took all the Xanax's. She stepped aside letting Dallas come inside before closing the too and wrapping her arms around him tightly. She tilted her head up so her chin was on his chest looking up at him. She hadn't heard or seen him in a couple days since she was at his house when he was completely drunk and she kissed him. So seeing him now she was a lot happier than she had been during the past couple days.
When she pulled away she went an jumped onto her bed looking up at him. "How are you!? What did you do today?? Did you go to school?" Her voice had enthusiasm in it, but if you knew Thalia the look in her eyes pretty much showed something was killing her. "I slept in." She said with a laugh running her fingers through her hair before looking from him to the Xanax and back to him quickly totally forgetting to put then away along with the recite saying she had only bought them yesterday.
"Hey, Thal." Dallas said when she opened the door and greeted him. As she offered him an invitation to come inside, he stepped in and turned to face her. Just as he did, he was met with a hug and he instantly knew that something was up. Granted, she did just hug people to hug people, especially him, but there was something about it that he couldn't put his finger on that was off. Either way, he was glad to see her after kind of disappearing for a few days apart from a random text or something that he would send. He followed her to the bed and laid down next to her. "I've been better lately.. I mean.. this whole being sober thing sucks. This was actually the first day I've gone to all my classes in the past week." He said, feeling a little like a failure after he'd said that. Something was definitely off with Thalia, he knew her way better than anyone at this school except for maybe her brother. He watched as she averted her eyes to something else in the room and when he turned to look, he didn't see anything. She sure was acting strange.. "What's on your mind, baby girl?" He asked after a short silence and readjusted himself on the bed, kicking off his boots.
