Thalia didn't even know anything besides what Dallas had told her previously about Esme, and when Esme texted Thalia asking her to come by because she thought it would be good if they got to know eachother... She suddenly got very nervous. I mean, Thalia knew how close Esme and Dallas were. But the fact she had never even spoke to this girl once in her life made her very nervous. What if what she had to tell Thalia was the fact Dallas wasn't really her friend and was just faking it? Or the fact that she knows Jon and her slept together back because they were together? This was not going to be good... She could feel it in her gut. Thalia was talking to Dallas a little bit on the phone before she had left her dorm to head to Esme's and he was trying to calm her down a bit. She was pretty much rambling the whole time about if Esme hated her would he still be her friend, and what should she do if Esme hits her... She pulled up into Esme's driveway and looked at the house letting out a small 'oh my sweet baby jesus.' Under her breath before taking out her phone and texting Dallas saying "You should have warned me about this house. " She stepped out of her mustang and looked around a little bit. She closed her car door and locked the door before walking up the house. She played with the sleeve of her sweater as she walked to the door of the house. She normally never got this nervous when it came to meeting people and she couldn't figure out why meeting Esme got her so anxious and nervous. Maybe it was the simple fact she had obvious feelings and she knew that Esme met something to Dallas so it made her nervous. If Esme had one bad thing to say about Thalia it could slightly change anything thoughts about her that Dallas had.... Yupp... That's definitely what was making her nervous. When she got to the door she rang the door bell and stepped back biting her bottom lip nervously waiting for Esme to get to the door.

According to her obstetrician, dieting during pregnancy can be completely safe for most pregnant women. Esme was honestly starting to consider it as an option as she tried on yet another one of her maternity shirts. It was like she was in this awkward stage in her pregnancy where normal shirts were too tight but legitimate maternity shirts were too loose in the stomach area. She either needed to gain weight (the unwanted option) or lose weight which seemed less likely with the way that she was currently going. "Nothing fits!" She was just frustrating herself an unnecessary amount - she was stuck as a whale until Ariel was born. She could theoretically diet and be completely healthy during her pregnancy but her history always proved otherwise. Jonathan deserved more than a wife who was basically insane over her body. She'd be able to do this the healthy way as soon as she gave birth. Hopefully.
She slipped on a baggy blue pre-pregnancy shirt and praised the lord that it still looked decent. Getting ready had taken longer than usual since she had spent so much time getting the fiesta prepared. She hadn't even considered the fact that Thalia might actually not like Mexican food and then all of this would be a big fat waste of time except that she would just give the leftovers to friends like Dallas or Wyatt or Anthony. Well, she could share if she didn't burn the damn beans! She'd nearly forgotten that she still had the big pot on the stove until the smell hit her as she exited the bedroom. She'd already ushered her husband and young daughter into the basement with some food so she and Thalia could have a private interrogation friendly discussion about her intentions friendship with Dallas. She was just extremely protective of her best friend!
She couldn't even begin to explain the guilt that she felt in her soul when she heard that Kat had left him in such a cruel heartless manner. There was no logical way that she could have seen that coming but she still felt like she should have. She should have been able to protect him from that kind of emotional torment.. She shouldn't have trusted Kat when she said that she loved him or when she said that she was her friend because friends do not put friends in these kind of situations. She'd clearly chosen the side of, what she saw as, her broken heart-ed too depressed to love anyone best friend. He deserved so much better! How come good things just couldn't happen for him? Why did she always have to spend every second of her day worrying about getting a call from Kevin saying that he'd found Dallas laying dead in his bedroom? Losing him would change everything. He was the one that she called when she needed to rant about her grades or her job or even if Jonathan did something that bothered her. He was the person who reminded her that sometimes loving someone isn't always enough when they just aren't meant to be.
Their romantic infatuation was gone and dead but the loving feelings towards him would never go away. It'd changed over the years to more of a friendship but he was still such a big part of her soul. She'd always thought that she was in a battle to keep him sober and safe for his own well-being but she was learning that she was selfish in this matter. She needed him far more than he could ever need her. She'd survive without him, unlike if she lost Jonathan, but she'd feel completely lost along the way. Thalia was more than likely a perfectly pleasant person or at least that's what she'd been told by a couple of different people and she loved both Justine and Max so she had high hopes that this girl would be like them. Maybe they would become friends and the three of them could hang out and maybe that would lead to Jonathan and Dallas getting along better or at least to where she could imagine them hanging out without it leading to a trip to the emergency room.
A legitimate friendship between the two would probably never happen but maybe a mild tolerance? Yeah... The door took her out of her various thoughts of possible hang out sessions with her husband and her best friend.. Now it was her chance to get a feel for this girl. She let her wait a couple of minutes before letting her in. "Hello Thalia! Are you hungry? I made a little fiesta. There's also Mexican lemonade if you don't drink and margaritas if you do!" Unicorn was barking up a storm at the newcomer like all her five pounds of fluffiness would somehow become intimidating. "Ignore Unicorn, she'll warm up eventually and that Labrador trying to lick your hand is Riley. She's too social for her own good sometimes. We have a cat around here somewhere but she's hiding."

Dallas. I'm not kidding. What if she hates me!?! She'll try and kill me. I sense it. I'm not stupid! And i'm cold. I don't think she's coming to the door. Yup, she hates me already and doesn't know me. Thanks for making me agree to this, asshole. Thalia pressed send on the screen of her phone before sliding it in her back pocket right as the door opened. Her big blue eyes went from her pocket up to Esme within seconds as a smile grew across her lips. "Hi! It's so nice to meet you finally, i've heard so much about you from Dallas. " When the girl allowed her to step inside she did so feeling so much better to be in the warmth of a house instead of being in the cold. When she did so she glanced around the house before looking over at Esme with a smile.
"I am, but you didn't have to do that Esme. That's really kind of you. You're house is beautiful. " Thalia couldn't help but feel bad Esme had went out of her way to make food just because she was coming over, but hey. That's Thalia for you, always feeling bad about the stupidest things ever. She should she have brought flowers or wine or something? She bit her lip as she thought for a second before smiling as Esme mentioned the dog because too social for her own good. She leaned down a little petting the dog, "she's cute. And so is the five pounds of fluffiness." Thalia let out a nervous laugh before leaning back up so she was height level from Esme.
Thalia had a bunch of genes from Max, their personalities were a lot alike at times and that probably showed in the little comment on the 'five pounds of fluffiness' about her dog. Max had gave her a long lecture on how if she wasn't nice and respectful to Esme he'd kick her ass. She knew Max cared a lot about Esme even though they dated and broke up a while back, and that was just one more thing that made Thalia nervous about meeting Esme. She didn't even understand why she was as nervous as she was! Normally Thalia's such an out going social butterfly, but something about this girl intimidated her. Maybe it was the fact she was married? Had a kid? She just seemed so mature.
But then she remembered it was because of the whole reason she ended up coming to Esme's house tonight. Dallas. He was all Thalia pretty much cared about other than making Esme love her. She wasn't going to be a kiss ass to Esme, but she knew her opinion mattered to Dallas. And even though she knew Dallas would still be her friend if Esme didn't like her, it still worried her that Esme could say something and Dallas could no longer like her. I mean, girls had that power over guys. It was like some special power they all had. "Thank you for inviting me over, Esme. Dallas was telling me the whole time before I flew in to New York how he hoped me and you could be friends.. And I honestly hope we can too. " She gave a shy smile before looking down nervously. Good going Thalia. Sound like a freak. That's what you need to do. Her shyness was showing really bad and so was her nervousness and she had a feeling Esme was probably picking up on it.
