So I've been avoiding making this post for a while, but I guess it's time to announce it on facebook now that my family all knows.
As most of you are aware, I had cancer when I was a kid. We got the all clear when I was thirteen that I had beaten cancer for the second time. But now, three years later...
Some of you may have noticed my recent haircut. I shaved it because I couldn't handle seeing my hair fall out again. I have Acute Myeloid Leukemia, which is common in people who have had cancer and chemotherapy in the past like I have. Not much is clear at this point, there's still tests to be done and we have a lot to figure out but... The doctor's say we caught it early enough for the treatment to benefit me the most.
I'm sorry for leaving this depressing news in your feed. I just felt it was time to let all of my facebook friends know what's going on.

I miss my sister. No one can ever replace her in my life, and I will never be able to forgive the heartless murderers who stole her from me and my family. Genevieve means more to me than anyone can understand. My heart goes out to all of the other families who lost someone yesterday. We are grieving together.

It was so weird celebrating my first birthday without my sister. I know she's up in Heaven smiling down at us, she's my guardian angel, and as hard as it was being without her, I don't really even feel like she wasn't here. I miss her every single day, but I know she's never actually left me.
