After majorette practice at the football field, Whitney stuck around awhile and continued twirling her baton. She threw it into the air and caught it a couple of times. Then, thinking that everybody else had left, she started running around the field. As she ran, she spun around, and then she stopped and threw her baton in the air. It landed in her hand with ease. Then she started running around again. Whitney stopped when she heard voices. She stood still, letting her baton dangle at her side, and looked in the direction of the voice.

“Yeah I’m gonna go look for it reeds are expensive,” it was after marching band practice, and she had hung out in the band room with her friends for a bit, before she realized her reed case was missing.
“I’ll catch you later then,” said her friend as she left. Rozzi nodded and watched her friend leave before she sucked it up and went back out to the football field to look for her reed case. Reeds were expensive, not that she couldn’t go get more, she just didn’t feel like wasting the money, even though she would eventually have to get new ones. Why go buy new ones if she could find hers? Which probably meant searching for it.
She sighed and took sip from her water bottle and then put it back into her locker. She was really stalling on going back out there but she did it anyway. When she got out there she noticed that there was someone out there already. A guard girl by the looks of it. She really respected the guard people those poles were heavy, and they hurt to get hit with. She knew from experience that they hurt from getting hit with one at practice one time. They also did a hell of a lot more running then she did, and that was good because she was not in shape to be running around all the time.
“Hey?” she said it as more of a question then a statement because she didn’t want to bother her. “Hi, I was just wondering if you’ve seen a reed case,” she said. “It’s like…” she tried to show her to approximate width with her hands, “this big and black?” she didn’t know how else to describe it. So she just stared at the girl waiting for a response that was probably going to be a no.
