Name:
Amber Melinda Broxton
Age:
16
Gender:
Female
Sport/Club:
Cheer, Gymnastics, Cross Country
Grade:
10
Appearance:
Amber has a naturally pale skin complexion, though she does have the tendency to use bronzer or self tanner in order to add a bit of color to her skin. Her hair is naturally black, though she's dyed it brown once before, so the color flows out in an ombre. The girl stands tall at a height of 5 foot 3 inches, somewhat short though she doesn't seem to mind it. Her eyes are almond shaped and colored brown, which are complimented by her lengthy eyelashes.
Personality:
Amber is girly by nature -- always primping herself during class, checking her reflection in a mirror or any other reflective surface she might find; it isn't because she's vain, that's just how she was brought up. She was always expected to look good, without so much leaving an eyelash uncurled.
Her mother, having been an avid participant in beauty pageants, naturally dragged her daughter into that world once she herself couldn't compete anymore. Because of this, Amber is extremely driven when it comes to winning anything. She was pushed so hard to win and was taken down just as hard whenever she didn't succeed in doing so. Her mother was hard on her. If Amber didn't so much even place, she'd get a beating, and that wasn't something she ever enjoyed going through. She can't take a loss, and when she does lose, she breaks down. Amber can't handle being a loser, a failure. That's all she ever thinks of herself and she punishes herself because of it. The only thing she ever feels she succeeds at is controlling her weight, which, though unhealthy, is the only thing that gives her the slightest bit of confidence in herself.
Amber is a bit uptight, being sort of a prude. She tries her best to keep up a mature front, claiming she doesn't want to partake in any silly activities that many other teenagers tend to get involved in -- but it's actually just a shield to hide her actual shyness. She needs someone who can loosen her up, make her feel comfortable about being that fun young girl she knows is living deep, down inside of her.
Background story:
Her mother was a constant nub about her appearance, so that naturally passed onto Amber, what with all the time she spent watching her mom do her makeup, hair, trying out new diets, etc. Her dad drank a lot and never really took the time to pay any attention to the two girls in his life, and it was to the point where he was almost barely there, like he was just a piece of furniture, sitting in their house.
There came a point in time where, Amber was getting older, nearing the end of elementary school. She was wandering around her house, looking for her mother, and when she finally found her, she saw that she was forcibly causing herself to throw up. Upon questioning the woman what she was doing, she explained to the girl that it helped her to stay beautiful. It wasn't too long before she began to do the same, herself. Amber didn't see it as abnormal at all, it was a regular thing for herself. After each purging, she'd look in the mirror and instantly feel better about herself. It was refreshing, it kept her happy, though once would never be enough for the girl.
