Name:
Dr Eric Tobias Dawson. Eric has a doctorate in Psychology.
Age/DOB:
Thirty-nine, born on the 15th of March.
Classes Taught/Clubs Sponsored:
Eric teaches Sociology, Psychology and Biology. The clubs he's involved in are the Debate Team and the School newspaper. Eric also runs the Tennis team/club.
Appearance:
Eric is an oddly handsome man, though he's always very modest if anyone compliments him on his appearance. In the Summer Eric's hair is a dark ginger shade, due to all the time he spends outside, but in the winter his hair turns a very dark shade of brown. This colour change also occurs in his eyes, in the warmer months they are a very light green, but in the winter they turn an almost dark blue colour. These colour changes have been happening ever since he can remember, and Eric isn't sure why, but he doesn't mind it at all, in fact he thinks the changes make him interesting. Which they sort of do. Eric stands at 6"4, the tall gene runs in his family, and he is very lean, but muscular, as he does try and keep as active as he can.
Eric has fairly tanned skin, with a smattering of darker brown freckles across the bridge of his nose and his cheeks, these are more visible in Summer. Eric has a very defined jaw line, and chin, giving him an almost chiseled look, when you add in his glorious cheek bones.
Personality:
Eric is a very stereotypical English gentleman, he's polite, well spoken, ambitious, charming and wealthy, though that's hardly a personality trait is it? Eric was always brought up to respect others, no matter what their background, race, sexual orientation, no matter what, he was taught everyone deserves the same amount of respect, and Eric has always stuck to that. That's part of what makes him such an amazing teacher, he has absolutely no biases ... Well perhaps he could be swayed by a chocolate cupcake and a student with an exceptional mind but otherwise ... He's fairly unbiased.
Eric is very protective of his son Sam, he rarely shows it in conventional ways but he loves his son with all his heart, and hates to see him get hurt. This protective nature doesn't just stop at his son, he's fairly protective over everyone he knows, even fellow teachers. Eric is very loyal and would do anything for someone he classes as a friend, and he classes his students as friends. If there's a fight breaks out in the hallway he's usually the first teacher to jump in and break it up. This has often lead to him being punched and kicked accidentally, but he really doesn't care, as long as the students aren't hurting each other. Eric hates violence of any sort, and has even protested the schools wrestling team a couple of times, he just hates violence. HATES IT!
There are very few things that someone might find negative about Eric, but here's one of them, he's a tad arrogant. Having been brought up the way he was, and taught at one of the most prestigious Universities in the whole world, the thought that he's better than most people has been somewhat ingrained in to him. The arrogant side of him shows more when he's had a drink, and otherwise it's a fairly quiet side of him, but it's there, and slips out occasionally.
Background:
Eric was born in England, in a city called Canterbury in the county of Kent. Both of his parents were fairly well to do people, and he lived a rather privileged life. When Eric was eighteen he went to study Psychology at the University of Oxford. At the age of twenty-four Eric graduated with a P.H.D in his chosen subject. During his first year at University Eric met the woman who would become his wife. They were married by the time Eric was twenty, and they had their first son when Eric was twenty-two.
After University Eric went on to be a Lecturer at the University of Nottingham, where he worked for six years. Though things were going marvelously with his career, Eric wasn't so lucky with his love life, and by the time he reached thirty, he and his wife were divorced. Eric couldn't stand the idea of his ex-wife having full custody of their son, so he fought long and hard for the right to have Sam live with him. Things looked grim for awhile, but one day Eric got a letter saying that his wife was actually granting him full custody, and though he never found out why, he was ecstatic.
Not long after Sam came to live with him Eric was offered a job at Somerset High school teaching Psychology, Sociology and Biology, and he took the chance immediately.
