Esme really didn't understand why everyone seemed to think that parenthood was such a tragic life ruining thing. Maybe she and Jonathan had just gotten extremely lucky but Cici rarely just cried for no reason. She slept every night when she needed to, took naps often and just never really put up much of a fight in public like those other babies. What were other parents doing so horribly wrong that they were already raising little screaming hellions? Like right now, she was sleeping happily in her stroller so her parents could enjoy a nice dinner out with Sam and Valerie.
Were they even dating? Esme wasn't entirely sure but she didn't want to ask and have Sam look at her like 'what we've been dating for seven years, how did you not notice?!? I only talk about her all the time'. How awkward would that be? So, she was avoiding the subject like the plague and just sipping her iced water. "So what are you guys in the mood for? I think that I want pasta of some sort but I'm not really sure." Could pregnant women even eat lobster? Had she had it when she was pregnant with Cassidy?
She didn't know if that was quite worth the risk so she was thinking about just sticking to chicken or pasta. "I am so trying whatever you get though, baby so make sure it's something delicious." She pecked her husband on the cheek before resting her head on his shoulder; this was exactly why she'd wanted to get a booth instead of a table plus it was more located in the back so she wasn't as worried about someone coming and waking up their precious sleepy nine month old.
She probably wasn't going to sleep the whole time but she had brought a couple of things for her to snack on or they could give her biscuits and some of whatever they got. Cici had been on the baby led weaning diet for a few months and it was actually going really well. Her mother was pleasantly surprised with the amount of things that she could eat without teeth. Who knew that infants can manage to eat more than just liquids and purees? Not that she had any issue with parents deciding to give those but she could never personally give her baby something that she wouldn't eat.
She really tried not to judge but as she watched a woman ignoring her screaming infant near by, she had to just shake her head. How could people be so responsible? Why have children if you aren't going to take care of their needs? She just hoped that her own daughter wasn't woken up by that little screamer and her awful mother.[/font]

( distilleryimage1.instagram.com/9bf99a62e3c411e1a78c12313804ce91_7.jpg )Valerie had been ultimately confused when she first showed up for this... whatever it was? She'd only known the Sam invited her to eat out, she wasn't aware that Jonathan and Esme would be there. She knew the pair and had spoken to them a few times, but the most she really knew of them was that they had a child together, and were probably the most successful teen parents she'd ever seen. They were sure doing a much better job at it than her own parents ever did, that was for sure. Not that Valerie was complaining or anything, she loved her mother, despite the disagreements she might have with the woman's actions. At least she did her best? Sitting now, next to Samuel, menu in hand, she glanced up when Esme asked what they were in the mood for. Valerie scrunched her eyebrows, scanning the menu items, trying to decide. She hated being picky about her food choices, and she normally ate whatever she wanted, but, with the studio being so strict about their bodies being a certain way so as to set an example for the other students, it was hard not to keep a watch on what she ate and how she weighed. A few months ago, Valerie couldn't have given two shits, she thought girls on diets were annoying little prissy bitches, and here she was, trying to calculate calories in her head like Regina George. ...alright, not a good comparison, but you get the point. She looked at Sam, then shrugged, biting her lip, "That broiled seafood trio looks really good," she could feel her mouth begin to water at the sight of the picture next to it; broiled shrimp, tilapia, sea stuffed shrimp. Valerie was torn, and she pouted slightly, "I really want it."

It wasn't frequent that Samuel had the chance to spend time with his cousin Esme but it was mainly because the two were so busy. She had mentioned a double date and he nearly blushed (no he actually did blush). The first person that came to mind was Valerie and that was the main reason his face flushed red. He was glad to hear that Esme had also mentioned Valerie because that meant she was fond of her. It wasn't like if she wasn't Samuel wouldn't keep seeing her. Seeing her? They weren't really a couple! How was he going to explain this 'double date'?
Sam wasn't, he was just going to allow Valerie to realize on her own. While praying that she wouldn't realize it - at all! He knew Jon because he had seen him visit them on occasion. He was a cool guy. Really dedicated to his family. It was heart-warming to see someone so young, be so devoted to a small group of people. He'd seen Aubrey, too. Although Samuel would wait until he was older for this certain kind of things. He wasn't all too ready to start a family.
When Esme asked what they were in the mood for, Samuel looked to Valerie so she could begin speaking first. He wasn't the type of guy to talk over people and he knew it was courteous of him to let the lady go first. Not because he was a macho but because it was a nice gesture and who didn't like to talk first?
He looked to the meal Valerie had mentioned on his own menu. That did look rather delicious. "You should totally order it." he was willing to pay for anything she wanted. It's not like he didn't have any money to spare. Hell, he had a fortune to spend. Although, Samuel was aware that Valerie wasn't used expensive platters and he didn't want to make her feel any different. He then looked at other dishes, "The parmesan-crusted chicken alfredo is actually really good, Esme." he recommended before looking for something that would awaken his appetite. Well, he was actually hungry but he wasn't a typical seafood fan but he'd eat on occasion. "I think I'm having the wood-grilled lobster, shrimp and scallops." he rose an eyebrow before he closed the menu and placed it down on the table.
