Name: Naveah Elaine Withers
Pronounced: Nah-vey-ahh
Age: Fifteen years old, Naveah was born on midnight of November 1st, All Saints Day. According to some people, however, that also means that she was born on November 2nd, All Souls Day. She was born at the break of one day and the dawn of another.
Grade: Junior
Sports/Activities: Though her mother signed her up for many different clubs, Naveah only attends one - and that is chorus. As a child, she was constantly belting out one song or another as she wandered around. Now, her life revolves around her vocal chords.
Gender: If you couldn't tell from the pronouns I've been using, she's a female.
Appearance: Naveah is a very thin girl, with dark hair and bright hazel eyes. Her eyes are her favorite feature, because they change colors. Depending on the weather and the light, her eyes can have a blue, green, or brown tint. However, other people don’t see her eyes as much as she would hope. Most people who knew Naveah when she was young could always spot her as the gangly little girl with a stick like body. However, puberty gave her some meat on her bones. In this day and age, people would call Naveah "average" or "normal" when it comes to body type. A few might venture as far to label her as "fat" because she has curves instead of the model body type that people prefer.
Naveah won't let their judgement get her down, however; she likes her body just the way it is. She’s known for wearing out-of-place things, so you might catch her showing up to class in a tutu or covered-in-sequins cocktail dress; you never know. Her hair is the thing that hardly ever changes – it’s curled perfectly and either up in a bun, down on her shoulders, or clipped back so that her bangs are out of her face. She’s full of surprises but there are some things she keeps to schedule.
Personality: Naveah is one of those people that no one can figure out. She’s a fly-off-the-handle kind of girl, and will snap at the tip of a hat. She’s been known to say nothing for long periods of times, speak softly, and never smile. When she’s not being quiet, however, she’s being loud. If she has an opinion, you’ll hear it, and if you happen to get into an argument with her… watch out. She won’t stop talking until she’s proven somehow right, and has an uncanny way of knowing exactly when she’s won. Get on her bad side and she might hate you for eternity. Get on her good side, and there’s only a little bit of time before she’ll loathe you, as well. Only people who she trusts can find the way to her heart, because she builds up walls. She hates being lied to, and will never trust a back stabber.
Other: Naveah may seem shy, but sometimes, she totally breaks out. When she's hanging with the besties, you'll see her happy side. The place where she doesn't care about judgement or argument or whatever. Sometimes, she just wants to let go.
History: Naveah was born to two perfectly normal parents in Flagstaff, Arizona. High school sweethearts Rodney Withers and his wife, Theresa, had been trying to have a biological child since they got married at twenty. Finally, at twenty-seven, the happy couple gave birth to a baby girl that was not biologically their own. Theresa was implanted with an already inseminated egg, the donation coming from a fertility bank in Versalis, Mexico. Naveah was brought up believing that she was her parents’ child, until she was thirteen, and they told her otherwise. To this day, she treats them as her own mother and father, but claims that she comes from a line of Spanish heritage, even though the Withers are from Northern England originally.
When Naveah was young, she grew up never living in one home for more than a few years. Her parents were, and still are, traveling people. Rodney has a degree in scientology and paleontology, while Theresa is an archeologist. Together, they have teamed up to create many great findings, their trips sponsored by different historical groups or the likes of National Geographic and Discovery Chanel. Naveah was always carted along, and her parents treated every “new great find” as a learning experience. She has been to almost every country in the world, and knows many languages as a result.
When she turned thirteen and the news was broken to her about her biology, her parents took her on a trip to Mexico. Though it was not the first time she had been there, it was the first she had ever gone on her birthday. She was there to witness the festivities for Dia de los Muertos, Day of the Dead. They stayed for a whole week, and even after all the parades and ceremonies, Naveah hadn’t seen enough. She vowed to come back soon, and her parents promised to bring her there once more.
However, after that vacation, they moved to the United States. It wasn’t supposed to be permanent, but they rooted down in a suburb outside of New York city. When public school ended up being to slow for Naveah's learning rate, she ended up going to Somerset and becoming a boarder to stay out of her parent's ways.
Age Explaination: Naveah is in a situation that is not very weird, but quite uncommon. Bear with me here as I explain: Naveah started school at four years old. Her birthday is late in the year, which means that she can be almost a whole year younger than some of the people in her grade. While other juniors are sixteen turning seventeen, she's fifteen turning sixteen. People call her out on it sometimes but it's really not that odd.
