Christmas was always the happiest time of the year for Beatrice - maybe it was because she was still very child-like or maybe it was because it was the only time of the year when all of her family actually put aside their silly issues with each other and got along. She'd never put too much thought into it nor did she feel like ever going into the physiology of herself. Her brain was a very confusing place to be sometimes! Except when she was with Finn; something about him just sort of unscrambled everything inside of her head. She still wasn't entirely sure what kind of magic that he was working on her but she really found herself thinking that maybe he was the real deal... Maybe he was the person that she was really destined to be with long-term. She'd been in relationships before but none of them ever meant this much to her. She had really thought that she loved Bo but her feelings for him were /nothing/ compared to the ones that she was feeling when she watched Finn doing anything even right now as he drove them to the ice rink. How many guys would be willing to go with their girlfriend ice skating of all things?
Even she would admit that it wasn't the best thing in the world if you didn't know what you were doing. She could still remember the very first time that her parents took her when she was five. She'd probably fallen at least a hundred times but hey, at least she'd improved! Okay, so she still fell down and cried sometimes and she'd been doing this for years so she was already fully prepared for Finn to end up falling flat on his ass if he really had never been. Wouldn't that be adorable though? If he ended up falling and then they left the rink when it got too dark or cold.. Maybe they could get some hot chocolate and snuggle on a park bench. "Are you excited? I promise that you're going to have a lot of fun." Ice skating could be painful but she would never say that it wasn't enjoyable.
She reached for his hand and offered him a reassuring smile after she got her skates on. "Are you ready to have the most fun that you've ever had?" She even knew that she was reaching when she called it the most fun that he would ever have... He'd never even had sex yet! And that was perfectly okay with her as long as he didn't touch her too much or look too sexy.. or look in her nightstand and take away her special toy.

Finn had never been ice skating in his life. He knew that she was really really wanting him to take her and being the sweetheart he was, was willing to give it a try. He would do anything to see Bee happy because honestly, with the way things had been going on at his dad's house the past month or two, he wasn't sure how much longer he was going to be around.
He had accepted that possibility two years ago when he was hospitalized because his dad broke his arm because Finn fought back when his dad wanted things and he refused to give them. It was something he never fully recovered from, both emotionally and physically but he was damn well sure that he was going to try and make at least one person's life better while he could.
"I know I'm going to fall." Finn replied with a laugh. "It's inevitable." When they laced up and were all ready to go, he stood up. It was surprisingly easy to stand and walk on a single blade which made him a little more confident in what he was doing. However, when they got the the ice and he saw all the people skating around like it was no big deal, any kind of hope that he had vanished and his nerves set in.
"I don't know if I can do this." He admitted, looking at his blade sitting next to the edge of the ice. With Bee's guidance and reinforcement, he cautiously stepped on. Now, Finn's legs and ankles were wobbly like a baby giraffe. He let out a worried 'oh my God' under his breath as he held onto Bee's hands and bit down hard on his bottom lip trying to concentrate. How the hell were five year olds out here doing this like it was no big deal? He had been looking at the ground the whole time, and when he finally looked back up to Bee, a little smile started to grow and he didn't feel so self conscious. She looked to unbelievably pretty tonight and with the way that the city lights were beaming behind her just warmed him to his core.

Beatrice never imagined herself as the type of girl who fell in love fast - she thought that it would take years before she trusted anyone not to just choose someone better over her and yet here she was madly in love with Finnick Radke after just a couple of months. This wasn't the love story that she'd envisioned but he just made her feel so complete. How could she survive if they were ever apart? She realized that it was early to be thinking about those things but marriage and possibly children didn't seem like such a big scary thing when it was with someone like Finn.
"You'll be fine, honey." She assured him repeatedly even though she already figured that he was going to fall flat on his ass and probably drag her down in the process. It wouldn't be so terrible, wouldn't it? She'd always be there to help him get back on his feet just like she knew that he would gladly do for her. She just had this feeling in her heart that they were meant to be.. Soul mates. Was is it too soon to even be thinking that?
"You're doing so great." She promised him with a small smile as she leaned in to give him a kiss on the cheek, "Do you realize how happy that you make me? I know that I say this all the time but you just really, really give me everything that I could ever ask for." She wanted to just cuddle up in her nice warm bed with him and drink mugs of hot tea like the perfect little couple that they were. She couldn't blame her younger sister for being jealous of her relationship when it was just so gosh darn perfect. "I couldn't imagine being this happy without anyone else. I love you for doing this for me."
Ice skating was something that she could never have convinced any of her last boyfriends to do. "Come on... I want to show you something." She motioned for him to hold onto the railing before she skated in front of him so she could do (what she thought) was a really impressive little stunt even if it was just a jump and a twirl which a five year old could probably manage. "How awesome am I?" She mused affectionately as she moved back over to him so she could give him a kiss on those beautiful lips of his.

Finn's legs were still shaking as they moved. He nearly fell when she leaned in to kiss his cheek but was able to keep his balance. It made him feel all fuzzy when she told him how much this meant to her and how he always seemed to make her happy. That was all he wanted. Even if he suffered, he would always want someone else to be happy. "Well, I don't think I'm doing good, but at least I can kind of stand up. And I haven't fallen yet so.." He laughed, finally starting to get a feel for his single bladed skates. Just as soon as he had, Bee was pulling him along and to a rail to hold onto.
He watched as she skated away and went to do a seemingly really cool trick that made him smile. He wrapped one arm around her and kissed her back before answering. "You are amazing, Bee. You are!" He said, letting go of the rail. "Show me again." He said, trying to pull her with him. That, however, didn't work as he had planned because he still hadn't found his footing. In a second, he was falling backwards and pulling her down with him, but at least she landed on his chest rather than the ice.
"Oh my God, are you okay?" He asked once he got his breath back. "I'm so sorry, Bee." Finn said, a little too enthusiastically. He was half expecting her to slap him for being stupid, so his body tensed up, ready for the hit or whatever she had to dish out.

Finn's excitement over her small trick filled Beatrice with pride. There was just something about him complimenting her that just made her feel like she had actually done something impressive. Being with Finn always made her feel better about herself though.. It was just this magical affect that he had on her. He was making her realize why everyone always told her that true love is just one of those things that you have to wait for. She'd been trying to force this kind of relationship with all of her previous boyfriends including Bo only to end up heartbroken in the end. Finn wouldn't do that though.. She was one hundred percent confident that he would never leave her.
She nearly screamed when he pulled her down with him, how rude! She wasn't really angry through - she even laughed about it which is why his seeming panic over it confused her. Did he really think that she was going to be upset over something so stupid? "Baby... I'm fine, it's fine." She assured him as she pressed her lips against his cheek. She thought that she was the one who owed him on apology since she landed on him! But she honestly didn't feel like it was the right time to bring that up. Was it possible that there was something going on? She'd had suspicions because of all the bruises but he always had excuses.. Legitimate reasons for each one but there was no clear explanation for this.
"Finn.. Don't take this the wrong way but is your mom hitting you?" Carolyn seemed like such a lovely woman but so do other abusers. She'd never suspected that Nolan and Damien had it in them to shoot up the school either and yet that happened.. Maybe Finn's mother had issues of her own, maybe she drank or maybe she just needed help. "I love you and I don't want you to lie to me right now.. Is anyone beating you?"

He didn't mean to, but he flinched when she leaned in to kiss his cheek. A wave of relief and a sense of stupidity came over him. Who could really blame him though? It was just a bad reflex. "Ha, no, she doesn't hit me." He laughed nervously. He'd gotten so used to her just leaving his bruises alone and not talking about them that now when the subject came up, he didn't want to lie. He shouldn't have to lie to Bee, he trusted her, hell, he loved her and still his only instinct was to protect her from his stupid trauma.
He let her get up first, before he shakily rose up himself and looked away from her. He wanted to tell her about his dad and the problems he had. He wanted to be able to trust her with that, but sometimes people just couldn't handle things like that and he wasn't sure if she would be able to absorb it. With a light sigh, he stuffed his hands inside his letterman jacket pockets. "My mom is a good woman. She does everything for Parker and I. My dad on the other hand.. he's the one you have to watch." Finn said, pushing off to sit on a bench.
"A lot of it is from lacrosse." Another lie. "But sometimes... sometimes they're from my dad. He......" Finn huffed, trying to think of how to put it without getting anyone in trouble. "Sometimes I just make him angry." that was the same lie he had told him mom so she would stop talking about it. It had always been a tender subject for him, even if he talked to Parker about it. "I uhm.. it's nothing to worry about. It doesn't happen very often." Another lie.

Beatrice didn't want to just accept his answer and not worry about this but she knew that he likely wouldn't tell her anything beyond that. She couldn't put her finger on it but something inside of her gut just told her that there was more to the story than he was letting on. What kind of a lacrosse practice was he going to? Esme had dated a lacrosse player and she'd asked and apparently Hudson never had bruises like Finn did. That alone wouldn't mean anything but he just acted differently like how he tensed up when she kissed him or acted like he legitimately feared her when he accidentally took her down with him. Maybe she was just thinking too far into this whole thing.
She glanced over at her boyfriend with a small sigh, "I know that you're lying and you're keeping something from me but that's okay because I understand that you don't trust me enough yet." She gave his hand a gentle squeeze to try and non-verbally let him know that she was there for him no matter what. She pressed her lips against the bridge of his nose before repeating something that he had heard time and time again - "I love you, Finnick Radke and I completely am okay with the fact that you aren't ready to let me into this... part of your life that you're hiding but I hope that you understand that I'm here. I am always going to be here for you even if God forbid we don't end up together." She'd climb mountains if he needed her to. She wasn't in this relationship just for a good time, she was in it for the long haul.
Did it mildly offend her that he knew everything about her and yet he didn't share this? Yes but she knew that whatever was happening between him and his father was so much more intense than anything that could have happened between her and anyone in her life. She couldn't judge him as she'd never been in a situation anything like his - her father sucked in almost every way but he never hit her or her siblings even when they kind of deserved it.
