Name: Oscar Rodrigo Ortega
Age/Birthday: Eighteen years old. November 9th.
Grade: Senior, 12th
Clubs/Activities: Mathletes, forensics
Appearance: I'll work on this later.
Personality: A genius? He's extremely smart. Oscar excels in math and in most of his classes. His classes were chosen based on the requirements for university. They weren't exactly selected because Oscar wanted to take them but because he needs them to get into an Ivy League school.
Extracurricular activities aren't really Oscar's favorites simply because his schedule is full already which is why he takes it easy. He doesn't like pushing himself when he can just be calm about things.
Oscar's a laid back guy. He can lead a long conversation and is for the most part talkative. He'll probably tell you more than you wanted to hear but he will definitely listen for as long as someone wants him to.
He has a very sympathetic heart and he will with no doubt stand beside his family no matter what happens.
Background: Oscar was born Sacramento, California. He's the middle child of Catalina Ortega Sanchez and Fernando Ortega. As a child, Oscar was always going by the Pokemon motto. I wanna be the very best that one ever was. And he succeeded because he was one of the top 10 of his class ranking at #2. It was a good deal for Oscar, he wasn't very competitive and his parents seemed to be proud of him.
However, Oscar felt inferior when his older sister, Africa was getting honors at school. Many kids mocked him because his sister was smarter than him and most even went as far as calling Africa better. Which made Oscar feel bad and made him resent his older sister. It caused instability at home for everyone except baby Juliana who had no idea about anything. The good thing about the sibling crisis was that both Cat and Fernando put a stop to it. They sat the two of their children and had a long conference. Making both of them understand that the two were kind, were smart and that they were both important to them.
After that phase, Oscar continued doing his best in school while getting into occasional fights with the kids still bothering him. He was also close to his cousin, Mark who visited every summer and Christmas from Hawaii. They always wanted to drive down to the Bay Area for A's baseball games and seal sighting in San Francisco. Both really loved those seals.
The Ortega family moved to New York before Oscar began his senior year.
