I don't want to talk about this.

That was all that Jem could think, from the first word that was out of Aiden's mouth. He didn't even know himself what was going on. Ever since he was young, he thought that he had to be attracted to girls. When he found out that guys were an option? Well, it was a whole new story. He felt attracted to guys, so that was what really mattered, but he cared about other people's opinions sometimes... Especially Aiden. He didn't really know when it happened - maybe after the first time Mama Es suggested that they would be a cute gay couple, or something - but he started... Well, at least thinking about having feelings for his friend. Did he really have a strong emotional connection like that? He didn't know - just the idea of having a boyfriend who was as close to him as his best friend was, sounded appealing.

"I, um..." Jem looked down, blushing profusely. His brain was going crazy. It felt like he was in one of those cartoon movies, and steam was about to come bursting out of his ears. There was an insane person jumping about and having a dance party in his head! His thoughts were so jumbled, he didn't know what he was doing until after he did it - he sort of just leaned in, slow motion in his head but quick in real life, and planted a kiss on Aiden's lips. There wasn't really time to appreciate it. He didn't know who did what first, but all he knew was that he jerked back and stood up, pacing the room, suddenly very aware that he had probably just done the stupidest thing in the world.

"You know, I always thoight you would be a better kisser than that," not that he was making fun of his friend for being a bad kisser, there was really no time to enjoy it because Jem had done it so quickly.

That was awkward

Aiden didn't know what to say, but since he didn't want to sit in awkward silence, he decided to open his big mouth once again. "But all jokes aside ...I'm not gonna lie, i've always been a little bit curious...but I don't think that Iike you the way you want me to like you, and I don't know if you have feelings for me... or something.... I don't think I like you that way." Finally the truth came out, he really didn't want to make Jem upset, or make things awkward between them, was there a way to have this conversation without making things awkward? "Honestly... I don't mean to hurt your feelings or anything, because you're like the best friend i've ever had and I know it's probably pretty fucking hard to put up with me sometimes. Even though it seems like every person on the planet seems to think that I'm into guys, I mean there might be a slightly bisexual part of me, that likes to make sexual comments, but I don't think that I could be with you in a non friendship way."

Even though dating his best friend did sound appealing, and much easier then dating a girl who knew nothing about him. It was really hard to find girls that were as cool as Jem was, "If you were a girl, I would marry you," only if you were a hot girl though. Now was not the time for those kinds of jokes though, so he kept it to himself. " He was suprised that Jen had had the courage to kiss him earlier, well that and he seemed pretty shocked by it, and by the way Jem had reacted he seemed liks he thought it wasn't a good move. Aiden wasn't sure how to let him know that it was ok, and becides he had already made this weirder then it needed to be.
