Olivia and Reagan ~ At the Zoo

It was a good thing that chats existed or else Reagan would have never gotten the courage to you could say, talk, to Olivia. Why did people nowadays rely on communicating over the internet? It defeated the whole purpose of socializing and getting to know someone. However, Reagan at the moment was very thankful for this innovative technology. Now, he was reciting in his head how he was going to greet Olivia when they were face to face.
Would it be as awkward as he felt it would be? Or would it smoothly run it's toll? There were tiny beads of sweat on Reagan's forehead just thinking of it. He was definitely not the same guy he had been when he leered Olivia into his trap. Of that he was certain. He even got in contact with his old friends, the people who had taken him under their humble wing and pushed him up but it was only his fault for feeling that he could fly when he really couldn't.
This invitation would be Olivia's day. He wanted to know more about her. What he missed on after abandoning her the way he did. If he could drive his head up against the wall, he would. However, he didn't think that would make Olivia forgive him. That would only give her sympathy and might even make her think he was crazy. So, he did what was correct and that apologizing to her.
She was a really sweet girl and sure she wasn't what one would call smart but he believed she knew something he didn't. Now, he was just waiting for her outside of the zoo. Hopefully she would come and if she left him waiting, well, it was his fault. Just like he kept her waiting when he asked her out and never showed up. The thought made him cringe. How horrible was he?

He's not there for you, Livvie.
You know he's not.
Listen to me... I'm always here.
Olivia ignored the spearing voice in her mind, her over-active conscience only fueling her anxiety in the situation the girl was about to put herself in. Her stomach lurked as she eyed her reflection in the rear-view mirror of her car and she suddenly questioned whether or not she should even be there in the first place. She was parked in the zoo parking lot... a place she'd grown accustomed to, visiting quite frequently to see the giraffes and other creatures. Normally, Olivia was ecstatic to be going to the venue, but, knowing she'd be seeing Reagan set an ill feeling inside of her stomach.
Her eyes glistened over, and she pursed her lips together, looking herself in the eye through the mirror and finally deciding it was time to exit the car. Olivia may not have been the quickest fish in the water, but she wasn't an idiot. She knew what they'd most likely be speaking about, and the more she thought it over, the more anxious she became.
Opening her car door, finally, Olivia let out a breath, and stepped out, scrunching her eyebrows as she looked up towards the entrance, her hand still clasped onto the handle of her car door, in case she changed her mind and decided to leave. Leave... like he had left her. Except Olivia wasn't that type of person. She would never leave anybody who wanted her around. In fact, she believed it was rare anyone actually wanted to keep her company, her father certainly didn't care too much for it. Her heart sank for a moment, and she found herself walking towards the entrance, just outside of the zoo where she saw Reagan standing, waiting for her.
Glancing down for a second, she couldn't bring herself to look him directly in the eyes, so she stared at his chest first, then up to his face, "I'm here," she announced, her voice soft, "you wanted to talk to me?"

When Reagan saw Olivia approaching him far distance, he took a couple of steps forward. His face showed no emotion but inside he panicked. He didn't want to panic. Panicking wasn't going to make anything easier and it would only mess up everything. He opened his mouth to say something but luckily, Olivia spoke first.
She sounded a little distant, even more distant than she physically was a few moments before. Reagan took a deep breath, a bit of smoke came out of his mouth from the November cold. He then gulped quietly and nodded, "Yes... Olivia," he paused slightly, taking another deep breath before lowering his eyes to look to her.
She had her beautiful, large eyes averted from him. Reagan wanted to see them but at the moment he really wasn't allowed to ask for anything but forgiveness. However, he changed his mind. "Are you ready to go in? I'll pay both our tickets, I invited." he stammered slightly before moving out of the way so she could walk before him.

Part of her wished she were the type of girl who would walk away, deny Reagan, tell herself she shouldn't fall for whatever tricks that he may be attempting to pull right now as he had during whatever fling they had together... but Olivia was too nice of a person to reject someone like that. And she didn't want to. He and she both knew that she wouldn't deny a free day at the zoo, even if it meant having to discuss things Olivia may not have wanted to discuss. A sensitive girl who didn't want to talk about her feelings, she was.
She looked down and nodded, "That sounds fine..." she adjusted her throat, then walked on ahead, leading the way inside of the zoo, and then turned her head to look at Reagan for a second, then back away. Olivia had held out hope for him back then, but now, even Helen Keller could see he had used her like a napkin and just threw her out like nothing.
Olivia was hesitant, about every move she made, unsure of what she was doing there in the first place. The normally bright and cheery girl seemed to have gone under a case of cloudy weather and didn't seem all too pleased with herself right now. That's how he'd made her feel, when he left. She forced out a breath, huffing, "You... this..." she wasn't sure of what words to say, how to put it together, "I'm not going to forgive you just because you're taking me into the zoo, you know." The way she talked, it was like a child was speaking, how unsure she sounded of her words. Olivia shook her head, "I... I want to be here, I just, I wanted you to know."

After Olivia started ahead, Reagan caught up to her. He moved his hand inside of his pocket to take out his wallet. Luckily, the line wasn't very long and as soon as they knew it, they were buying their tickets. He then thanked the employee before turning to Olivia.
He handed her her ticket and said, "I know, Olivia." he was one to talk to people by their name. Especially when he was as sorry as he was now. There was really nothing to justify his guiltiness. All he needed to do was say sorry. "I just felt that we could talk here, I don't know..." he shrugged, laughing slightly but out of pure nerves.
"Places like these remind me of who I used to be." Reagan recalled, raising a dark brow before continuing on their way to the entrance. "I'm happy you accepted. I really am." he answered in response to what she said about wanting to be here with him. "Well, where do you want to first?" Reagan asked her, "We'll go anywhere you want first." he added with a twitching smile.

Olivia looked up to Reagan, curiously, as he spoke, and a small smile formed on her face out of pure habit, walking around and looking at the familiar surroundings. Then she sighed, and cocked her head to the side, scrunching her eyebrows, "We haven't spoken in a very long time, Reagan." she shook her head, matter-a-factly. They hadn't, not really, not since then. Olivia was always hesitant in walking near him whenever passing by Reagan on campus, always having to contemplate whether she should walk another way or simply ignore the boy -- and there he was, and he invited her to the zoo. The zoo. A place he knew she loved and couldn't possibly have said "no" to.
She tried to keep the negative thoughts off her mind, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, and then pointing to a sign which pointed in the direction of where certain exhibits would be held, "I want to see the giraffes!" she stood up a little straighter, on her toes, and her eyes lit up when she said it -- giraffes were her favorite animal, after all, and Olivia supposed being around them would calm her nerves down and get her to loosen up more again.

It had been a very long time since Reagan had spoken with Olivia. However, he couldn't find the right words to say to her. She was important to him. He knew it was wrong for him to have used her but he had changed. The only thing he wanted was for her to forgive him and maybe — give him a second chance?
"Yeah..." he said, taking a deep breath and looking forward. "After I - I did that to you and everyone else... I just, drifted away from everyone." Reagan needed sometime to think about his mistakes. Not only did he feel terrible but he felt dirty for being such a womanizer. Upon arriving here, Reagan was so unexperienced and lost. He felt better that way.
He then looked to her and nodded, "Okay, let's go then!" he didn't feel all too good and he almost felt shameless for talking so lightheartedly.

Was that... pity she was feeling? Of course Olivia felt bad, witnessing how guilty Reagan seemed. Despite the sweet words he'd said to her turning out to be complete and total lies, she still cared for him in a sort. She cared about everyone that walked in and out of her life, regardless of anything they might have done to her, and she looked at him with genuine care, wanting to pull him into a hug, but she knew that if any of her friends had known she were here giving this guy even half a second chance, they would think she were more stupid than she already believed she was.
"Well..." she said, half-heartedly as she started the way towards the exhibit coming up, taking slow steps, and fiddling with her fingers, "you do seem sorry," Olivia glanced up towards him, "and that is something." she shrugged, looking down and chewing on her bottom lip, unsure of what to say.
Looking to him again, she opened her mouth, then closed it, shaking her head, "You made me feel really happy and then you weren't there anymore and it made me think I did something wrong even if everybody else was telling me that I didn't," she frowned now; talking about the subject didn't make Olivia all too happy, "but then I learned that you were the one who did something wrong, not me."

If Reagan had known that Olivia had been abandoned already by someone so important to her, he would have never left her like that. He wasn't completely heartless and this action he thought had been just a joke probably hadn't been considering Olivia did not take it as smooth as the other girls.
He nodded a bit, silly when Olivia began walking and said that he did seem sorry. Of course he did, and if she could see how even more sorry he was it would only be evident. "Olivia," he said softly.
Still her back was to him while he fell back a bit behind her. Reagan gently turned her around as they got to the giraffe exhibit and said, "It wasn't your fault." Almost hesitantly but sure of himself. He gulped before continuing, "It was me who did you wrong." he admitted, his hands on both sides of her arms. His grip wasn't tight, it was very light.
Reagan's eyes tried to look to hers. He had to make things right. It was only a silly teenage mistake of which he was already paying for. Reagan knew that he would never do what he did a while back. "Olivia, I'm sorry." he apologized incredibly sincere.
