Conson's one year anniversary

This was it. The big night. August seventh one year ago was the day his entire life changed without him even knowing it. How much had happened since then. Aside from making it official with Thalia, that was also the night Dexxie told him she was expecting. And now a year later, he had three children and the most amazing girlfriend he could ever ask for.
This whole thing was something he'd been thinking about doing for months. Ever since he first realized he was truly in love with her last April. The moment he looked in her eyes, and it clicked that she was the person he wanted to be with for the rest of his life...he knew that every single milestone had to be a big deal. He wanted her to look back on their fiftieth wedding anniversary and remember how amazing their first dating one was.

By 8:32 he was practically losing his mind. He'd told Carol to get here at exactly 8:30, but of course she was late. Typical Carol. Of course, two minutes was nothing.

And then two minutes turned into five...

Ten....

Fifteen...

By twenty-three minutes past the time she was supposed to be there, he was getting ready to call a search party to look for their bodies. But finally, at 8:55, Carol's gold Taurus pulled into the drive and he saw Thalia getting out of the car.
His heart felt like it was going to pound out of his chest, he was no nervous? Or was it excited? He sure had worked his butt off to get everything right. He still felt as though the video could have been a little better put together, but it had his entire heart in it, and he knew Thalia would feel that. He'd never in his life cared about anyone this much, in this way. Right at this moment, he felt like his entire life was on it's way to this front door.

Quickly, he checked over everything he'd set up in the hallway leading out to the living room, and dimmed the lights to give it a more romantic look. Of course you could still see everything fine in the candle light, but it made the mood feel more...right.

After Thalia walked through the hallway, she would see his laptop sitting open on the coffee table, his video ready to be played. And then once she got to the end, he'd come out from the kitchen in which he was hiding and give her the second part of his present.

Thalia laughed as Carol was trying to get her out of the car as fast a possible after their long almost nine hour girls day out together. Carol said something along the lines of 'Kegan's probably shitting himself from how late you are... So go!" before getting Thalia and, then pulling out of the drive way like a crazy women.
She got to the front door and pulled her keys out unlocking it, she walked into the dark house. Looking down she couldn't help but already have a smile placed on her face spotting the candals and rose pedals on the floor.

Following the path she found her way through the hallway where she spotted his laptop sitting open on the coffee table. She took her purse off from around her and setting it on the coffee table top. Then she clicked the play button standing there watching the video with a huge smile on her face. Reading through everything, watching the tiny videos, and all the pictures of them she felt tears forming in her eyes.
She would have never thought all these things he loved about her. Or that he actually took all these pictures and videos of them. She wiped her cheeks as more tears came from her eyes. One of her hands were still over her mouth though as she started to get to the end of the video.

'Of course that's not it, Silly! Have you met me? I have one more surprise...' She should have saw that coming. She continued to read on as she got to the turn around. She stood there for a second just taking in everything that she just saw and read in the video before turning around....

Whenever he heard the song change for reason number twelve, Kegan headed out from the kitchen and got in position a few paces behind her. His heart was beating like crazy, and he felt his breathing getting shallow as he tried so hard to keep quiet. He didn't want her to turn around prematurely and see him. This needed to be the ultimate surprise.

Right as his final words came across the screen, he took a deep breath and bent down on his right knee, pulling the small black Tiffany's box. He opened it a quietly as possible so it wouldn't pop open and make a noise. He tried to take a few calming breaths so he wasn't panting when she saw him, and then when she turned around, the biggest smile split across his face.
He had an entire speech planned out, but the only thing that he ended up saying was...

"Thalia, will you marry me?"

"I-I... Kegan... Oh my god"Thalia's hands went over her mouth as she felt hot tears coming from her eyes. She looked down at his as more tears came from her eyes. "Yes. A million times yes"she cried out as she held her left hand which was shaking while her arm was stretched out towards him. When the ring got slid onto her ring finger for her left hand, she smiled down at him.
Once he finally stood up she tackled him into a hug pressing her lips his with a lot of emotion in it. She still had tears in her eyes as she had one of her hands on the back of his neck, the other wrapped in his hair. After a couple seconds she pulled away and smiled up at him. "I love you so, so much"she said as a couple more tears ran down her cheeks.

She couldn't believe this was happening. She was now engaged to the guy she is crazy in love with. They had their own baby boy, and her future step children, and the best part... They had each other. They were perfect for each other, perfect together. She was crazy about him, and knowing this was really happening. It was crazy to her. She moved her hand from his hair and just rested in behind his neck as she stayed holding onto him. Her face was buried in her neck and she couldn't help but still be smiling.
"You have no clue how happy I am. I love you so much, Kegan"she whispered looking back up at him and standing on her tippy toes to kiss him lightly on the lips once more. As she pulled away she kept her face close to his, their lips only centimeters apart.

Kegan picked her up and spun her around. He found himself laughing and crying from how overjoyed he was. He was engaged! He was a fiance! He was the happiest man in the world! He had the most beautiful, intelligent, understanding, loving girl in the world — and she just agreed to marry him!

He finally set her back down on her feet, and kissed her back with as much passion as he could muster. When he pulled away, he wiped her cheeks on the back of his hands.
"I'd expected you to cry, but I wasn't supposed to," he was still laughing when he spoke, and more tears were spilling over. He was just so happy. Hadn't been that happy since February and July when his children were born. This...this was a completely different feelings.
It wasn't the selfless love of a father. It wasn't the love at first sight he had with them. This was love that he'd had to look for. Love that he denied for far too long. Love that left them both with battle wounds and hurt. Love that he knew would last for as long as she would have him.

Thalia couldn't help but giggle about his crying comment. "It's cute when you cry"she whispered laying her head against his chest. Her hands were playing with the hair on the back of his head as she held onto him tightly. "I'm so happy, Kegan"she whispered. She lifted her head up looking up at him, "who all knew about this plan of yours?"she asked leaning up and kissed him lightly. Before putting her head on his chest once more tilting it to look up at him.

She looked up and smiled up at him. They were actually doing this. She was his fiance. Now until forever. It was like they were the perfect couple... In her eyes anyways. And she didn't want to be with anyone else. She wanted to love him and just be with him until the day she died.
"I love you Kegan"she said once more. She had probably said it a million times since he proposed. But she didn't think it matter. She loved him so much, and she just wanted him to know that. "You're perfect and you're amazing. And I don't think anyone has ever loved someone as much as I love you"she said with a smile. She leaned up and kissed him once more pressing her body against his getting as closed to him as possible and putting as much passion in the kiss as she could.

"Okay, Bella Swan," Kegan said in reference to her I don't think anyone has ever loved someone as much as I love you comment. He thought it was a bit of a heavy statement for someone to make, but he didn't care. Right now, he didn't think anyone had ever felt the way about someone else that he was feeling right now.

He almost didn't want to tell her who was all involved. What was next? Asking how much the ring cost? There was no way in hell he was going to admit to the hefty price of it. It made the $2,000 he spent on her promise ring last summer seem like nothing.
"Well, Carol, obviously. My parents. Esme gave me some opinions on the ring, so she knew. I'm pretty sure Care told Wyatt...and um..." he pursed his lips as if he were actually thinking. "And oh yeah. I asked Max for your hand, so he knew." He was sure she hadn't been expecting that one. Traditionally, you're supposed to talk to the father of the bride, but seeing as Thalia's father was no where near a decent man, he talked to Max.
