'Yeah, you're probably right', Donnie replied, gesturing for Stella to move back a little on the seat so he could get in to the small compartment underneath it, that's where he kept his helmet. There was only one. Being the gentleman he was he handed it to Stella and insisted she put it on, regardless of how it might mess up her hair.
After Stella had the helmet on Donnie climbed up on the seat and sat in front of her, 'We'll just drive around a bit and come back here, okay?', he said, taking off his hat and shoving it inside his jacket so it wouldn't blow away. 'You're gonna have to hold on to me', he added, and he reached behind his back to take hold of Stella's arms and wrap them around his waist, 'You can't let go, okay?', he was making damn sure there would be no accidents.

After he insisted that she wear a helmet, and she argued that it would mess up her hair, she reluctantly put it on, he was probably right that it would be safer for her to wear a helmet in case they did end up getting in an accident she really didn’t want to get hurt. So she put it on anyway, like he said. She was a little surprised when he grabbed her arms and wrapped them around him, but she did as she was told. He really shouldn’t have worried about her letting go because she was too scared to even think about letting go. “I won’t,” she said.
