How could she even think of threatening him in such a way? Surely she was just acting out of hate and pregnancy hormones, right? She wouldn't actually do it. No, there was no way! He stood firmly planted in the same area, well knowing that she wasn't going to be able to make him budge. He was a line backer for crying out loud, the boys on the field could barely get past him! He had yanked his arm from her hand, feeling the sting from her nails in the process. Dallas deserved the blows to his torso and the harsh smack in the face, at least he could feel that. He felt every sting from every book or item that was thrown his way, which really only a few made contact.
To see her fall apart and collapse to the floor like she had had killed him. To hear her say over and over gain that she hated him didn't hurt nearly as bad as seeing her there. He punted the back of his head against the door, kicking himself over and over in his head about how stupid he was to have gone and done this to her. She was holding her stomach and that was about the time that he couldn't just stand there anymore. In a second, Dallas had dropped to her side and managed to pull her into a sitting position. She wasn't even fighting back at this point, instead she was just hysterically crying as he pulled Kat's face into his chest. Honestly, he wasn't really sure if she was comprehending that he was trying to calm her down.
"Kat, Kat, baby I'm so sorry." He had one hand in hers which was between them, and his other wrapped around to support her back. He was done fighting back his emotions, but still something said to to let them flow, maybe it was for her sake, or maybe to save his own sanity. He rocked with her there on the floor, not wanting her to leave; hell, not wanting to leave this spot even. Dallas just kept whispering the words over and over again that he was sorry, well knowing that he wasn't getting through. She was like a locked concrete door right now, curled up into her little ball. This would end too, he knew that much. He knew the moment she stepped outside the door, he wouldn't see her again.
"Kat, pleee-heese." He begged through clenched teeth. Dallas buried his head into the nook of her neck, trying to gather what he could before her imminent disappearance; her touch, the smell of her hair, the sound of her breathing, all of it. "Please forgive me, baby. Please, please, pleeease. I'm so sorry." He couldn't hold them back anymore, and one by one, hot tears started to fall down his cheeks. She couldn't see it, but it was prominent in his voice.
