Eli laughed and pulled Riley into a hug. “I honestly thought you knew that I’m into guys, I’m sorry,” he felt bad but it wasn’t his fault that she liked him. After all he didn’t consider himself a bad looking guy, but it came as a surprise to him that a girl was attracted to him. It just seemed weird; he didn’t know why it struck him as weird. It was just something he would have to get used to, apparently. It was weird that he just assumed everyone knew, since most people did, but it wasn’t like he gave it away on a daily basis or anything, he wasn’t your typical flamboyant guy he was just a normal guy that happened to like other guys, and maybe that was weird on its own.
He didn’t want to see her cry, even though he was attracted to her, she was a pretty girl in his eyes, and tears weren’t pretty. “You shouldn’t cry over me, honestly I don’t even think I’m worth it, and pretty girls shouldn’t cry it ruins their makeup.” he let go of Riley, and shrugged. “Oh you thought so too?” He said with a small laugh, I get the feeling he’d be more interested in you then me,” although he wasn’t one to judge, he just figured by the guy’s reaction that he happened to be straight. Eli looked at the ground for a second and then pulled a cigarette out of his shirt pocket, “You don’t mind if I smoke do you?”

"Aw, don't be sorry! Embrace it. I'm just being a cry-baby." Riley smiled brightly after Eli released her. She then sighed and looked inside of her purse, she took out her mirror and some Kleenex. "Oh god I'm a mess..." Riley rose both eyebrows in surprise before looking to him. "Ew..." she continued laughing as she fixed her eyes. She supposed she'd have to take all of it off. She wasn't used to wearing so much make-up which is why she didn't really think when she let the tears fall.
"I'm pretty sure you intimidated him. He's probably contemplating his interests and sorting out his priorities right now." Riley stated, she emphasized the big words that sometimes tended to escape her. She then turned her head to Eli when he asked her if she minded if he had a smoke. She shook he head and said, "I sure don't! Need a lighter?" she asked him before closing her mirror and putting it back inside her purse. Riley took out her aqua colored lighter, "I don't smoke but I carry it just in case I need it to light candles for birthdays." she smiled closed with a nod.

“You don’t look that bad,” he was trying to make her feel better, when he said that. He wasn’t lying to her on purpose, and she probably knew it. So there was no point in trying, but he did anyway because he wanted to be nice to her. He felt bad that he was the reason that she was crying. He didn’t like to see his friends cry, or anyone for that matter. He chuckled when she mentioned how Ryan was contemplating his options, but took the lighter from her, “It’s ok, though honestly, I’ll just stare at him every time I come in here and creep him out,” he laughed to show her it was a joke.
“Thanks,” he thanked her for the lighter, as he lit his cigarette, and then handed it back, “I had one, but thanks anyway,” he clarified, for some reason he felt like that was something that needed to be said, “Do you go to a lot of birthday parties?” He asked raising an eyebrow? You could use lighters for other things too. He just thought it was funny that she mentioned birthday parties.
