Danny crawled forward over the median and up into the driver's seat when Jett suggested they go somewhere else. "Oh?" he turned, smiling slightly when Jett mentioned the blanket. "Where to, sir?" he added a very bad English accent before starting up the car.
---
Once they'd reached the forest, Danny parked, got out and locked the doors after Jett had done the same. He'd grabbed the blanket too, and was pushing it up under his arm. Thankfully all the paint had dried on his shirt so he wasn't getting any on the blanket. After running a hand back through his hair (or trying to, not very successfully because of the dried paint), Danny circled the car until he came side to side with Jett. After lacing their fingers together and placing a slight kiss on Jett's cheek, Danny smiled and looked to the forest. "Sooo.. where to? Lead the way."

Jett reached back to grab the blanket when they arrived, but Danny had already beat him to it. He set his phone in the cup holder and hopped from the passenger seat, shutting the door behind him. He welcomed Danny's hand in his, feeling the warmth exchange between their palms, and leaned his cheek into Danny's kiss, followed by a little smile. "This way." Jett started walking, tugging Danny along next to him.
The two walked for about ten minutes before they reached the spot that Jett had been to so many times on his own. It was a breathtaking scene like something out of a fiction story with the way that the forest slowly thinned and then disappeared and left a cliff that allowed you to see the lights of the city in the distance. Granted, it was kind of a long drive out from the stadium, and even further from the dorms, but it was definitely worth it.
Jett large took the blanket from Danny and spread it out a ways from the edge. He had never gotten closer than fifteen feet from the drop off because he was scared to fall and his minor fear of heights never helped anyway. "Come here," Jett smiled. He was holding out one arm for Danny. When he came, Jett wrapped his arm over Danny's shoulders and pulled him in close enough to rest his cheek on the top of his head.
"I haven't been here in so long. I used to come here a lot when I first moved here. Dallas invited me to a party they were throwing.. it got pretty crazy." Jett laughed at the memory of himself getting stuck in the tree. You could actually see the stars here, unlike in town where all you ever saw were street lights, cars and people too busy even too busy for themselves. It was peaceful here with the waxing crescent moon above them.
Jett leaned back onto the thick blanket and pulled Danny back with him so that he was laying on his chest. He sighed contently and played with the back of Danny's hair.. or where he could seeing as the paint had dried. He guessed it was probably nearing midnight or one by now. After a short, peaceful silence, Jett leaned his head up to kiss Danny's hair. "I've been thinking about how to tell my parents about you. They're not going to be happy."

Danny followed Jett, their hands locked, into the forest. He'd always been a little bit afraid of the dark so he kept close. When they reached the spot, though, and the light of the moon flooded the small cliff, Danny sighed. It was breathtaking! Absolutely beautiful. And the way the lights of the city sparkled up.. wow. "Jett this is amazing.." he started, but was quickly being pulled to the ground. Willingly, of course, but he wanted more to sit with Jett than discuss the sky.
As they sat, Danny let himself go. Jett was guiding his body back, and he went with it. Head against Jett's chest, Danny closed his eyes and breathed deeply. This was everything. This was what he'd been waiting for. After years of searching, years of being so lost, he'd found that missing piece. It was here, in Jett's arms, that he finally felt real.
"Mm, yea. Dallas is the dude to go to for a rager," he said softly, just as Jett was lowering himself back again. Within seconds, Danny had readjusted and found a comfortable position with his head still on Jett's chest, but his body spread out across the blanket now. They were laying together.. here, under the stars. He closed his eyes again and tried to feel everything he could. Jett's heartbeat, his own heartbeat, the slowness of Jett's breathing and the coolness of the gentle breeze. It was so relaxing, and he wouldn't have rather been anywhere else.
"Yea?" he tilted his head slightly towards Jett's with a questioning look on his face. He hadn't thought about that.. He personally had no intent to tell his family. He hadn't really thought about the fact that Jett would. "Well hey. Let's not think about that," he said, deciding to change the subject as he reached a hand across his chest to lace their fingers again. "Let's just talk about us. Here. Now."

A slow smile crept onto Jett's lips when Danny suggested that they not talk about telling his parents. The thought would always be in the back of his mind until he was able to grow a pair and talk to them about it. He didn't want to think about the outcome of what may, but he couldn't get it out of his mind. That was, until Danny distracted his mind by lacing their fingers back together. Jett was honestly a little cold up here and wished he had something other than a paint covered jacket to keep him warm.
Danny seemed warmer than him, which made Jett scoot as possibly humanly close to him. He was sure Danny could feel the chill in his fingers when Jett rolled onto his side. He was thankful that the blanket was so cushioned because he was pretty sure there was a rock wanting to dig into his ribs. He readjusted and allowed himself to place his hand on Danny's waist and he moved so that his head was snuggled under Danny's chin. Yeah, he was a lot warmer now and reached backwards for the edge of the blanket so that he could wrap the rest of it over him.
"You're so warm." Jett... purred? Sure. He loved how he felt safe around Danny. He smiled at the fact that he was comfortable enough to find himself actually starting to drift off. He yawned through his nose and lightly tightened his arm around Danny's waist. He could feel himself starting to fall asleep right there, but he was completely okay with it as long as they weren't eaten by a bear or something.

"You're.. not so warm," Danny giggled, nuzzling his chin against the top of Jett's head. He really was pretty chilly. Even the tips of his hair were kind of cold. But once the boy had snuggled against his side, Danny could tell he wouldn't be cold for long. As Jett wrapped himself closer and closer, Danny let his arms rest over top of him. Thankfully the blanket was huge, so when he reached to gather a corner into a pillow, there was more than enough and he found himself pulling the extra across his body. Jett had done the same from the other side.. they probably looked like a burrito.
As Jett sighed, Danny copied and closed his eyes again. Sure the ground was kind of hard and sure there was the chance of them being attacked by rabid wolves.. but this was so nice. It was so sweet, so warming. He wasn't about to ruin it.
Danny's breaths became deeper and slower as time went on, and within minutes he could feel that Jett had fallen asleep. The weight of his head had frown and Danny could tell that he was almost dead weight now. It was comforting knowing that he could allow himself to fall asleep on Danny like this. So, with a deciding nod, Danny gave into his body's craving and let his eyes fall closed again, let his mind wander, and eventually let himself drift into sleep.
