He pinched his eyes shut and braced for everything. When Danny hadn't tried to strike him, he opened his eyes to see if maybe he was laughing like everyone else had. He was literally in shock at Danny's reaction.. it was good to hear that? He wasn't mad or creeped out or anything even remotely close to vomiting? "W-What?" He started. Jett wasn't even able to grab his words and form a sentence.
Jett also hadn't been expecting Danny to seem so happy about this situation either plus he had just admitted that he liked him back! He was nearly about to jump from the couch and tackle the guy sitting in front of him but decided against it given the previous situation. It made him sad to think that Danny had done it mainly because of him and what he had flared up.
Jett actually became nervous when Danny scooted a little bit closer to him. He wasn't completely sure if he should move closer aswell? maybe let him lay on his lap or against his shoulder? The whole process of what to do now bewildered him. He was still in denial that he had even told Danny about what he felt towards him, or that they were sitting here now. With a shaking hand, Jett rubbed Danny's arm with the back of his fingers trying to show him some kind of comfort and trying to ease his nerves. "I wouldn't fuck around like that." He made sure to keep perfect, strong eye contact so Danny knew he was telling the truth.
"Danny?" He asked, finally dropping his gaze. "Where do we... Where do we go from here?" Jett looked to the broken rod laying by Danny's closet and couldn't help but feel a wave of guilt rushing against his chest. "I mean, we an figure that out later. I think you need to get some rest though.. and I'm sorry for breaking your closet." He let out the smallest laugh to try and lighten both of their moods.

Danny smiled thankfully when Jett said he wasn't joking. There was no telling how hard he would've hit him if he had been joking. But there was no need for that now. Having not really been thinking about it, Danny was a bit confused with how to answer when Jett asked what they do now. Really he'd kind of just figured that would figure itself out. But that didn't make sense. He knew what he wanted to happen now.. he knew exactly what he wanted. But Jett was right when he said he should rest. Just the thought of that sent the pain back piercing through his neck.
Scooting around, Danny made himself so he could lean his head onto Jett's shoulder. It hurt a little, so he let out a soft grunt. It probably would've been better for him to lay down. "I dunno, man," he finally said in response to Jett's question. But that's when a real sweet idea popped into his head. "Maybe.. maybe we can go get dinner sometime?" That must've been the worst way to ask a guy out. But it wasn't really even for a date.. I mean it was, but it wasn't.. no. It was definitely for a date. He chuckled when Jett apologized for the closet.
"That's okay bro I don't even use it," he laughed as he lifted his hand to rest it on Jett's thigh. After a moment, when it had gotten quiet again, Danny lifted his head to look up at Jett.
"Thank you," he said gently before reaching up and kissing Jett's jawbone. He let his head fall back again and moved his fingers in little circles over Jett's leg. "I mean yknow.. for.. for coming. Please don't go."

He could feel a smile forming on his lips as he let Danny's head rest on his shoulder. He cautiously allowed himself to ease down and rest his head atop Danny's. "Dinner would be... greatly refreshing." He still wasn't completely sure about how to show his affections or even really how to receive anything Danny was dishing out. Him laying his hand on his leg, his head on his shoulder, the kiss on his jaw. Woah.. what?
Jett shifted his face slightly away from Danny when he had felt his lips on his skin. He didn't mean to, really, but he guessed it was just instinct or something. Jett wasn't entirely sure about this whole thing just yet as far as how to act, what to say, or really how to feel. He knew, hands down, he had feelings for Danny. It was frustrating to him because he wasn't able to express everything the way he wanted to because he wasn't sure how to go about such a thing.
"I'm sorry." He mumbled and returned to where he was to begin with. He gritted his teeth at himself and then unclenched his jaw. Jett didn't mind Danny's hand being on his thigh, it was rather soothing so he figured he would take it as his apology offer. He intertwined his fingers with Danny's, feeling the warmth from his palms race up his arm. "I won't. I'll be here if you fall sleep and I'll be here when you wake up."

"No I'm sorry," Danny said as he quickly looked away from Jett. Well that was confusing. But maybe actually.. maybe it really wasn't. Danny's emotions were all a mess right now so honestly he could've just been moving all too fast. He didn't know. But if Jett told him to stop anything else, he'd just blame it on the fact that he wasn't really all here right now.
Danny calmed down a bit though when Jett laced their fingers. That was a sign that maybe how he'd jerked away wasn't meant as to say no. It was just a reflex. That put a lot of relief in his mind as he squeezed Jett's hands. A smile formed across his lips when Jett said he'd be here when he fell asleep and when he woke up. He could already tell how perfect everything was going to be. Absolutely perfect.
"Would it be totally weird if I lay down?" Danny asked cautiously. "My neck.. sitting like this kinda hurts." It was true, his neck really did hurt. But he also just sort of maybe a little bit or a whole fucking lot wanted to lay his head in Jett's lap.

After Jett had cooled down on the bridge, he hopped back onto his bike and headed for campus. He was trying to keep from crying, one – because he didn't want to look weak in front of anyone, especially Danny, and two – he didn't want to fog up his helmet again. That would just make his night ever so peachy if he wrecked because he was a stupid whimp. He hurried, weaving in and out of cars on the interstate and getting honked at several times. He wouldn't be surprised if he got pulled over for speeding and reckless driving, not that he’d give a shit right now anyway. He just wanted to be there and be able to talk to the only person he knew would listen and be able to understand.. hopefully.
When Jett reached the campus grounds, he dropped his kick stand and bolted for Danny’s dorm. He didn't even knock like he normally did. Instead, he just walked right in like it was his own room and removed his helmet. Jett didn't see Danny at first, but when he did, he dropped his helmet to the ground, flung his arms around his torso and buried his face into Danny’s chest. He was still fighting back tears but he was failing. His body was turning against him and he was losing it again.
He clenched the back of Danny’s shirt in his fists and gritted his teeth. His body was starting to gently shake and he just couldn't hold anything back any longer. He took a deep breath in and could feel the hot tears starting to fall. Jett didn't want to risk speaking because then Danny would surely know that he was crying and he didn't want him to see that. He knew that he had probably already caught on, but when Danny had tried to pull him from his chest, Jett tightened his grip and clung to him. “My parents hate me.” He croaked out. “They - they hate me because I’m gay.” He sucked in a deep breath of air through his nose and moved so that his forehead was resting on Danny’s shoulder.
“I can’t – they – I. I don’t know if I can do this!” He exclaimed and moved to the couch. Now, he just didn't care if Danny saw. “I can’t.. we can’t.. I mean, no. You, I can’t lose you, Danny.” He curled his legs up to his chest and leaned against the backing with his face turned away from the room. He repeatedly ran his fingers through his hair before hanging his head down. He felt so many different emotions running through him; anger, shame, confusion, hate, need. He felt so small sitting there in a little curled up ball.

Danny smiled at first when Jett came into the room. He was happy to see that he didn't knock anymore.. it made him feel just that much closer. But the smile that was there and the wave he'd started both fell away when he noticed just a blur of Jett's face before it was driven into his chest. Catching Jett with a noticeable "oof" as he knocked the wind out of him, Danny wrapped his arms around the boy's back. Within seconds, Jett had clung to him like velcro and could feel his fingertips digging into his back as he grabbed at his shirt. Danny slowly ran his hands up and down Jett's back as he shushed him, leaning his cheek against his hair. What the hell was going on?
As they stood, Danny couldn't help but think of the worst possible things. Was he hurt? Did someone else get hurt? Was someone dead? What was happening? He assumed the worst because he could feel Jett's tears seeping through his shirt. And then he let go and retreated to the couch.. tears clearly visible as they streamed down his red face. Gosh, the boy was falling apart. Danny let out a saddened sigh as his hands dropped and he stood motionless for a moment. He wasn't sure what to do first. After a moment, he decided on a glass of water. After retrieving one, he went to Jett on the couch and knelt before him so Jett's head was just slightly higher than his own.
"Jett.. Jett, shh. What do you mean your parents.. oh.." He realized. Somehow, someway, they'd found out. They knew about Danny now, and it was clear they weren't happy. Danny looked down for a minute, searching for the right words. He set the glass of water on the table then reached forward to wrap his arms around Jett. He'd curled himself up pretty tight, so it was sort of a struggle to pull him forward. But Danny managed, and eventually pulled the mess of a boy into his arms so his face was yet again against his chest.
"You won't lose me, Jett. I won't let that happen," he said in the most calm and gentle voice he could render. "Shhh," he hushed, rubbing one hand down Jett's arm and the other through Jett's hair. "You saved my life. You've shown me so much love and compassion and I just.. I could never let you leave. You saved me, so I'm here to save you." Carefully, Danny lifted Jett's chin so he could look in his eyes. They were bright red and though Jett tried to look away a couple times, Danny brought him back. "You're the most amazing thing that's ever happened to me. I was so lost until I met you. Do you think I'd ever let something get in the way of that?" he kissed him gently on the lips. It was a short kiss, and meant more for comfort and reassurance than passion. "You're so handsome," he whispered, a faint smile drawing up the corners of his mouth as he traced his finger along the top of Jett's forehead then back into his hair.

Jett pulled away several times when Danny was trying to point his chin up. He finally caved in and let him do so without any more fight. He barely shook his head when Danny was reassuring him that he wasn't leaving and that Jett wouldn't have to worry about losing him. He hadn't kissed Danny back on this one though, it barely registered that it had even happened. Jett looked at Danny and then dropped his eyes again as he sniffled.
He didn't want to hear that, how handsome Danny thought he was. He wanted to hear that he was an awful person for yelled at his parents like that, and then turning off his phone so they'd think something happened to him. Or the fact that he had thrown his kid sister under the wheels of a giant bus and hadn't even thought twice about it until now. That's what he wanted to hear. He wanted to hear that he was nothing.
"Danny." Jett pathetically whimpered as he let his forehead rest against Danny's. He uncrossed his arms and wrapped them around Danny's neck so he could pull him in closer. He thought, now that he had calmed him down, that he was ready to tell him what happened. Jett had returned to his previous sitting position in his tight ball against the back of the couch, but he had pulled Danny so that he was resting on his legs.
He went on to talk about how they had even found out about the stadium and was sure to mention that he hadn't said anything about Danny, mostly in dear that his parents would try to have him arrested out of revenge or something. He told him about his I.D. that he had dropped, which he thought that he had actually just dropped in the woods somewhere. He spilled about Kylie and how he had fucked that up as well, and how he was sure they were making her call that Andie kid and break up with him.
Jett felt like the scum of the earth for everything. After he had stopped talking and the room grew silent, Jett looked at the knee of his jeans, and then up to Danny's eyes. "Am..am I a bad person, Danny?" He asked with an innocent but stern expression. After a second, he dropped his eyes back down and rested his head against the couch. "I don't understand why it's so bad. Like, why they can't just accept me. Why - why I can't accept me."
That wasn't supposed to come out of his mouth, but it did. He pinched his eyes shut because he didn't want to see if Danny had been hurt or had gotten upset by his tic-tac sized comment. He wiped a straggling tear away before it ran to his chin. He was tired of crying and feeling puny.

Danny leaned against the couch like Jett, but was still facing him. He listened quietly, eyes locked on Jett's face so he wouldn't feel like he wasn't listening. Because he was, all ears. He wanted Jett to let it all out before he said anything, before he started on his magical and powerful rant of why Jett was such a beautiful person. Why none of this was his fault. And he got the chance to start when Jett asked if he was a bad person.
Danny clicked his tongue across the top of his mouth when he sighed. It was a sort of sad, almost pity filled noise. "You're not a bad person, Jett," he said softly, taking one of Jett's hands in his. He hadn't laced their fingers together like he usually did.. he was just holding it, rubbing one of his thumbs over the back of it. "You're not at all a bad person. You're perfectly wonderful. Just a human being that.. got a little mad. We all say shit we don't mean when we get mad." He hoped his words were comforting Jett.. when he started talking again.
"..why they can't just accept me. Why - why I can't accept me."
Danny froze. That hurt. Slowly, Danny let Jett's hand fall from his grasp as he sat there, mouth hanging lightly open. He was staring at Jett and when he realized, quickly withdrew his gaze and looked down at his hands which were now folded over themselves in his lap. He hadn't accepted himself yet? Did that mean he hadn't accepted.. them? He didn't want to think about it and tried to get back into the swing of being the helpful boyfriend that he had wanted to be. It was hard now, though, thoughts rushing through his head.
"I.. uh," he licked his lips, still not looking up at Jett. "I guess its just cuz.. that's their religion. What they've been taught all their life. Who they are." Short answers. Great. That was certainly helpful. But those words were replaying over and over in his head and it really made Danny wonder if maybe Jett wasn't as about this relationship as he was. But he couldn't let it bother him. This wasn't about him. This was about Jett.

Jett clenched his free hand into a tight ball as he resisted the urge to cry again. He thought he was done, but his body wanted to say otherwise. He wasn't really sure why Danny had let go of his hand, but he didn't like it so he tucked it away inside of his protective ball of a body. He kept his eyes away from Danny's as he gritted his teeth with anger towards the whole situation, especially at his parents. The tone and words they used had him actually second guessing his relationship with Danny. Was it worth potentially losing his family over?
"Who they are? - Who they are.." Jett repeated and looked up to Danny. That made sense and Danny couldn't have said anything more perfect than that. That was just what they believed, but him? He was his own individual. He could make his own choices and choose what he wanted to choose. And he wanted Danny. He wanted to openly be able to call him his boyfriend without feeling like he needed to hide it or risk getting hated by his family or friends.
"Danny?" Jett started, trying to offer a smile. Something was wrong. Had he said something? or done something? Jett reached his hand over to pull Danny's chin towards him. "Babe?... are you okay?" Jett asked, pinching his eye brows together as if that was going to magically provide him with the answer. He repositioned himself so that he was sitting cross legged and leaning towards Danny now. "Did.. did I say something?"

Danny pulled away from Jett's hand when he lifted his chin. But when he called him 'babe', he perked up a bit and even chuckled. He'd never heard him call him by any pet names before. He smiled because it was cute, but also because it was ironic. Just seconds ago he'd been saying how he wasn't sure about their relationship.. and now he was calling him babe? Anyone that ever said girls are the only confusing ones was wrong.
"I'm fine, Jett," Danny said when Jett asked if he was okay. He wasn't, but he didn't want to turn this around. This was a night about Jett, and he'd suddenly seemed so much better. Danny didn't want to ruin that. But Jett tried again, asking if it was something he'd said.
Yes. I fear that you doubt us.. that you're not as about our relationship as I am.
But he just shrugged and shook his head. He had a look on his face that clearly said something was wrong, but he couldn't bring himself to say it. Closing his eyes, a tear pinched through and dripped down his cheek. "Jett.. do you like me?" he sort of squeaked, trying not to make ugly crying noises. Actually, trying not to cry in general. "Do you like me like I like you?"
(oh sorry that's kinda short :/ )
