Oddly enough... Isabel did feel better after she cried to Dylan like that.. She had never expected for it to happen but he was able to comfort her. She went from feeling like absolute hell to well better all because he was there and she didn't know what that meant. She knew that she didn't love him and that she didn't want a relationship just yet but that didn't mean that she couldn't find comfort in his presence and the way he had rubbed her back... the way that he just let her cry when she needed to without guilting her into trying to force a smile on her face. "Yeah.. I feel a little better. Thank you for letting me cry like that, Dylan... I know that we don't usually do that so it means a lot that you were okay with it or at least didn't get mad about it."
She wiped her eyes before curling up closer to his body like she was a second skin basically... It had nothing to do with Dylan, actually, she would have snuggled up to anyone at this point because she was beautiful but she was still slightly broken. Maybe.. Maybe they both were - beautiful yet broken- and the only fix would be to piece each other back together. "Did your mom die... or did she walk away?" She wanted to know him. She wanted to see if they could repair each other and then she could thank him at her wedding one day because their relationship would be the reason that she was able to commit to her future husband.
It was kind of odd.. She'd been incredibly faithful to Dylan and they weren't even dating.

So it was back on him again. Well, it wasn't like she was going to judge him, he wasn't worried about that. He just didn't want to talk about things so unpleasant.
Dylan sighed, and rolled a little closer to her so she couldn't see his face show no emotion whatsoever. That was something the therapists always found disturbing. He was able to talk about upsetting things with little to know feeling at all. "She left. Decided that she didn't want us and split. I don't even know her name." That wasn't entirely true. Her name was Clara. He read it on his birth certificate once. Clara Michelle Lucas. He'd also seen a picture of her, too. Just one. A picture of her with his dad when they were in high school. Before she was pregnant. Before he and his brother ruined her life.
He tried to think of something — anything — to change the subject. It wasn't that he really cared about any of this, but he figured it was good information to know for future reference. "So...who's your best friend?" He asked, trying to think of an answer himself. Not very many people liked him. If he really had to pick, he'd say his best friend was Declan, and he didn't think even he liked him very much.

Isabel didn't know his mother nor did she know enough about the situation to make a fair judgment but she felt this explainable hatred towards the woman. She had so many things that she wanted to tell Dylan but none of them felt right like how his mother didn't love him so he didn't believe anyone else could or how his mother was a horrible evil woman who should be ashamed of herself for losing out on the opportunity to get to know her sons. So she just said, in a quiet tone, "She didn't deserve you... Or Declan. She didn't deserve to have such wonderful sons and I hope that she's out there somewhere suffering because she was too fucking selfish to be ...." She forced herself to stop when she realized how much venom was in her words. Why was she so attached to this? Why was she feeling so strongly towards his potential pain?
Her best friend? Oh dear.. "Well I had a best friend when I was little up until I was fifteen who was like my sister and we did everything together like we learned how to ride a bike together and it was just really nice. Um.. Our parents were friends, too and she was just gorgeous and I always thought how much I wanted to be her because she was full of life and she brought the party into every room that she walked like this magical draw..." She let out a small sigh before continuing on, "It was like you looked at her and wanted to know her but people... these girls didn't like her and started bullying her and it got really bad and she killed herself... I don't know. I mean... I know that she was in a lot of pain when she did it and I know that she did what she needed to do just like I'm doing what I need to do."
It was sad that after all of these years, Phoebe was still her best friend. She wasn't the type of person that people got along with very easily. "We're getting so personal today... It's kind of nice."

Dylan somehow found an odd sense of comfort in how upset Isabel got when she spoke of his mother. Like without barely knowing the story, she had just as much contempt for the hag as he did. Even Declan didn't understand how he felt. He always tried to justify her actions by saying she must have been scared or something, but he knew better. And it was nice that someone else seemed to really get it.
He listened to her explain about her best friend, and he actually felt bad for making her speak about it. But she seemed kind of...okay with in somehow. Like it'd been long enough that she was able to process what had happened in a mature way. "I'm sorry, Isabel, that's..." he wasn't sure what to say. He'd never lost anyone to suicide, and he'd never been bullied. So he couldn't really think of what to say.
So he just held her closer, trying to make her feel that he was at least physically there for her, even if he couldn't mentally. "It is nice," he said to her comment about their little heart to heart. He never would have thought he'd agree with that, but it was comforting knowing that someone was just about as broken as you are.

Isabel appreciated his closeness more than she could ever imagine.. It was like curling up in her favorite sweater.. if her favorite sweater was an attractive guy, of course. "I'm lactose intolerant." It was completely random and unrelated to the quite serious issues that they had been discussing before but she didn't know how else to lighten the mood! "And .... um, I have never had a real peanut butter sandwich because my mom is allergic to peanut butter so we never had it in the house and it's not something that we had but we had this weird soy stuff.. Um, I'm not allergic to nuts but I just never tried it even now when I live in the dorms and can buy it for myself."
It was just such a random thing to share that she couldn't help but laugh. "I'm sorry... I just felt like we got to know each other on a serious level so why not get to know the silly little things?" She wanted to know everything about him! She wanted to be the one who fixed him.. the piece to his puzzle.. in the friendship way, of course. She figured that neither of them really had a lot of friends so why not be each other's best friend? Friends and lovers or nothing..... What were they? Now? They were bonding on emotional levels!
She had cried on him! How much closer could they get? And now he knew that she couldn't have dairy products and that she was a peanut butter virgin!

Dylan smiled at her randomness and then tried to think of his own silly facts. "I um...I really like carrots. And cauliflower. And broccoli. It's...I'm weird, I know." He laughed a little, realizing how off it was for a teenage boy to love vegetables like that.
He rubbed her back for a minute, enjoying her company and trying not to think of how weird it was that he was actually this happy being with her, in a nonsexual way. He didn't think that was actual possible for any girl, especially not Isabel. She was easily the hottest girl he'd ever laid eyes on, and she was even sleeping with him without him having to really work for it. And now, he didn't care about any of that. He just wanted to be here with her and for her and be whatever she needed. Was he ready for a relationship? No. Not in the slightest. But he was starting to feel himself want Isabel anyway she'd have him.

Random facts to share with Dylan.... Hm... Isabel honestly couldn't think of anything at first! She wasn't all that interesting! "I can bake an amazing apple pie like I won a blue ribbon at a fair in Tennessee for it when I was visiting Phoebe's grandparents with her." She didn't want to brag but it felt nice to tell him about her accomplishments. Why was that? Why did she want him to be proud of her? "I'll have to make it for you sometime, Dylan... it's actually super delicious."
She wanted him to try it and love it ... she just didn't know why. "Ugh... I'm starving!" She just didn't feel like getting up and making herself a second hot pocket though. She was comfortable! "I'm starting my period soon but you know the drill on that." She always had very short light periods so it wasn't a big deal when she was oh it. "I just want to eat fried food and watch movies but all I have are hot pockets."
Yep - she was starting her period.

Dylan didn't like it when Isabel was on her period. Of course it was a good sign that she wasn't going to be having a kid, but it meant that they couldn't have vaginal sex. True, Isabel was awesome with her mouth, but it wasn't the same.
He played it off though, not wanting to ruin this moment by being a douche bag. "Well, you know we can order food if you want. I'm always hungry." He smiled at her, feeling again like the boyfriend he hadn't planned on being. It wasn't official or anything but...well, they were monogamous, they were sharing secrets, they were cuddling...if he didn't know better, this was pretty damn close to a relationship.
A small part of him wanted to take the opportunity to run his fingers through her hair, call her baby, and make her feel special. But he shoved those feelings away, because that just wasn't okay right now. They were not in a relationship. They were just... a thing. A very complicated thing. But not a relationship.

"I just want like big greasy onion rings and French fries." Isabel explained with a small nod as she sat up to grab her phone to look up the number for well anywhere that would serve those things. She figured that there had to be some annoyance on his part towards her - she didn't normally want vaginal sex during her period unless it was to try and help remedy her cramps. Luckily for her, she rarely got menstrual cramps that required her to have sex.
"You don't have to stay and hang out ... I mean I would love you to because I'm having a nice time but I don't want you to feel like you have to." Whoa... was she sounding meek now? Where was this coming from? She wasn't this type of girl! She was suppose to be making him submit to her not giving him other options! "But I mean.. if you leave then you can't have sex anyway so really you should stay and at least get free food out of the deal." What teenage boy turns down food?
She wanted to curl up in her bed and watch a sappy romance movie while he massaged her back... was that so much to ask for?

"I'll stay," Dylan said simply, and was acutally surprised that he meant it. He didn't mind staying and not having sex with her. He was okay with just being here because she needed him to be. If she needed company, he'd rather it be him than some other guy.
"So...want to uh...watch a movie?" It felt awkward to actually be sitting here, suggesting things they should do that actually involved clothes. He leaned away from her on the bed, putting some space between them so they weren't on top of each other. Since they weren't going to be having sexy times tonight, he figured it was probably best that they weren't all over each other. It would just confuse his hormones.
