Rachel had brought his drawing back, but Kyle could not find the muse to start work on it. He was far too distracted today. Much was happening around him, and as Rachel got up, he found himself doing the same. But when she turned to go towards the window, Kyle's feet kept in a straight line until he reached an empty table at the opposite end of the room. He stood there for a moment, hand on his hip, as he looked around. He'd never realized that this corner of the room had an exceptional view. He could see everyone. Everyone including Rachel.. sitting next to Trista. Oh dead what was happening.
Quite quickly, Kyle shuffled towards the two girls and stood between them, just behind them. He wasn't really sure what to say at first.. I mean, what do you say? Was he to greet them? Ask what was happening? He wasn't sure, so he just smiled at them. For a moment, his eyes were locked on Rachel. She hadn't seemed to notice him yet. But, losing interest, he shifted his gaze to the pad before Trista. A new drawing! Honestly, he was a bit let down when he saw that it wasn't him. He didn't really know why he was let down, and it made him feel cocky. But the thought was quickly shrugged away as Kyle pointed a finger towards the artwork. "That's real nice," he said and then quickly returned to his awkward smile.

Trista could see Kyle move from someplace in the room to where they were. She only glanced up at him then back down to her drawing. It was like an observed interrogation without glass. She simply felt too exposed for some reason. It was just uncomfortable having Rachel ask something like that. She didn’t have an issue with the female. Rachel was extremely pretty with a lovely smile. Kyle deserved someone as pretty as her. Trista didn’t know what she had done to get such a reaction from the other female. She’d simply sat a different table… a table she’d never say at until Rachel and Kyle officially started dating.
She blinked confused as he pointed at her drawing, and for a moment she’d forgotten she’d started drawing it. The style was very different from most of her drawings. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it, but it was there. “Thank you,” she said softly, it was very similar to the day they met in the ice cream shop. That day had changed her life, the day she met a friend for life, or so she hoped. Through it all, she’d still be his friend no matter what. That was comforting enough. Trista still refused to look up at Rachel, fearing the outcome.

"Don't be sorry!" Rachel felt a little guilty that Trista felt like she needed to apologize when she had been the one to come here and begin this conversation. "I just wanted you to know that I would never ever want something like our relationship to come between your friendship with Kyle. You were his friend before I was his girlfriend and that will never change." Sure there were some girls who would be jealous of their boyfriend having any sort of relationship with a female especially one as gorgeous as Trista but she just didn't see why. Someone who was going to cheat on their girlfriend or boyfriend was going to need it regardless of having approval to hang out with the person. She didn't want to turn into a person that she didn't recognize at the end of this relationship and she knew that she wouldn't be able to look herself in the mirror if she was a jealous little pain in the booty.
She hadn't look at the other girl's drawing until she noticed the interaction between her and Kyle and she couldn't help but smile when she finally did so. She was a truly brilliant artist.. "That's really lovely." She glanced down at her own piece and frowned for about half a second. She was attempting to sketch a portrait of a boy and it was looking an awful lot like Michael Russel. She didn't put the pieces together in her head right away and just assumed that she was being incredibly silly in thinking that it resembled him. "You're a really great artist and you're incredibly beautiful. Has anyone ever told you that you'd look drop dead gorgeous with a little lip gloss on?" She didn't mean it in the offense way, of course. She just wanted to make casual conversation.
