[ www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=91243504 ] Caleb wasn’t even sure how this whole lunch has come about. One moment he was sitting at lunch with a really gorgeous girl, then the next he had her number. He didn’t even need to use any goofy pickup lines that his brother had given him. Maybe girls liked a classy guy after all. Okay, he wasn’t exactly classy, but he didn’t have the moves necessary to swoon whoever he liked. Jodie was really nice to him, and she wasn’t like the other girls. She wasn’t stuck up or constantly talking about how fat/ugly she was to gain compliments. She was herself, and he had been drawn to that. Everything she did seemed unreal. He liked the way she blushed when she was embarrassed, though he never knew why. He liked texting her too, and was always quick to respond. Sure his siblings teased him, but he didn’t care. It was nice to have someone who genuinely cared about what he had to say. Caleb thought he was pretty lucky to have met such a pretty girl was a great personality. Sure, her actions left him more confused than anything else, but in the end she always made him laugh. A girl who could make him laugh was a keeper indeed. He wouldn’t say things were serious, but he wouldn’t mind them being in a relationship in the future. He didn’t want to rush anything, but all good things took time. He wondered if him not being a big party boy was strange. He didn’t find that life style worth it when he’d rather being eating or sleeping. Speaking of eating, Caleb looked around the little burger joint from the booth he found near a window. He wasn’t going to order anything till Jodie arrived, so they could order everything on the menu together. Of course he was going to pay for her meal, what kind of guy wouldn’t. He wouldn’t really classify this as a date, but he’d never been on one before. He didn’t want their first date to be at some burger shack. No, he’d take her somewhere nice do she’d feel appreciated. She was the kind of girl that needed to know she was great, and didn’t need to compare herself to her sister.

(( www.polyvore.com/cadie_lt/set?id=91336704 )) Jodie loved talking to Caleb, that seemed to be all she had been doing since they met in the cafeteria. Her sister was teasing her nonstop about him and how they would be such a cute couple, but Jodie knew better. She didn't want to jump into a relationship with a guy who she had just met a week ago, let alone think about being in one. Sure, he was handsome and hands down one of the sweetest guys she had ever met in her life, but she didn't wanted get to excited about something that might have no chance. When he texted her asking if she really wanted to go to the burger joint... There was no way she could say no. She had been at cheer practice before this so she ended up having to show at the gym and totally get ready meaning blow drying and curling her hair too. Then she practically was screaming at eat sister to get into the car and drive her because she didn't want to be late for their little hang out... Or was it a date? She couldn't figure out if that's what he would want to call it or not. That's what Carly kept calling it though whenever Jodie mentioned going. Maybe that would be just be another thing they could talk about during their little lunch. Jodie hopped out of the car grabbing her cheer bag since Carly wasn't picking her up and her mom was before waving bye and closing the door behind her. Jodie walking up to the door of the burger joint before looking around and finding Caleb. Smiling and walking over to the booth and setting her cheer bag down before walking around and giving Caleb a small hug. "Hey!" She smiled before walking back over to her side and sitting down on her side of the booth. "Sorry I have my cheer bag with me , I was practically hurrying to get ready after practice taking a shower in the gym and stuff. It was hectic. " Jodie laughed before looking up at him. "So, how have you been?" She asked before glancing down at the menu book then back up at him.

Caleb ran a hand through his messy hair in an attempt to tame it. Okay, so it wasn’t really messy, but he hadn’t exactly spent any time making it look nice. Eh, it was probably fine. He didn’t exactly feel the need to sit there a get his hair all over the place. This was, after all, a restaruent. He had to keep other people in mind who were here to eat. Caleb pulled out his phone and glanced down at the time. He had arrived a little early because he didn’t want Jodie to sit there and wait by herself. That wouldn’t be very gentlemen like, now would it? He thought he’d play some Candy Crush while waiting for her. It was great that they both played the game, a common interest between them. Sure, he was a few level a head of her, but it didn’t stop him from wanting to be the best.
He knew that she had cheer practice, but couldn’t exactly remember when it ended. He’s wait hours if he had to for her. It didn’t bother him if she arrived late because he knew that she was a very busy person. He couldn’t wrap his mind around how controlling her sisters were. He’d slap his brother if he tried to make him eat salad. How was that even a legit meal? Surely no one could eat off of a diet made of leaves. It just didn’t seem healthy at all. But wasn’t that why there were at the burger place in the first place? He was going to make her eat everything! Okay, so maybe not everything, but she was going to be so full after lunch. Maybe he’d spit the menu up into portions until they tried everything. This could take a couple of days.
Caleb looked up when he heard the door open. There she was, the beautiful blonde girl he had met at school. A huge goofy grin was on his face as he stood up to meet her. Her hug was small, but his was like a bear around her. He liked hugs, and he liked Jodie so it was the perfect combo. “Really?” he asked surprised she had come from cheer,” you look great. Couldn’t even tell.” He didn’t understand how girls could get ready just about anywhere with the right tools. Being a girl seemed like too much work to even handle. Being s dude was too chill. “I’ve been pretty swell,” he said putting his phone in his pocket because he didn’t want any distractions,” how have you been?” He noticed her looking at the menu and suddenly got excited. He didn’t need a menu because he basically had it memorized. “I hope you’re hungry,” he said with enthusiasm,” because we’re about to order everything!”

When Caleb's arms wrapped around Jodie in a huge bear hug, she couldn't help but get butterflies in her stomach. Jodie smiled when she sat down and he told her she looked great. "Aw, well thank you. You don't look too bad yourself. " She winked at him playfully before watching him put his phone in his pocket. "I've been okay... I can't explain how pissed I am! I can't beat level twenty nine of Candy Crush. I definitely need your help. But other then that i'm alright." She smiled at him.
As he asked if Jodie was hungry she put a hand on her tummy and rubbed it, "I'm starving. I haven't ate since this morning." She laughed before letting out another laugh when he said they were ordering everything. "That strangely sounds amazing. I kind of want everything." Jodie grinned before letting out a giggle when she realized how fat she probably sounded. Of course she knew she wasn't fat, but saying she wanted everything... It most likely was true. She could eat like there was no tomorrow whenever she had the chance, and that was probably going to be the case today. She grinned at him before picking up the menu and looking at it.
Jodie placed it back down folding her hands together and looking up at him in his eyes. "What should I get? Because, I don't know what to get. And since you pretty much looked at me like i was crazy when I told you i don't eat out... I want your opinion." She laughed before looking up as she saw a shadow come up to the table. "Hi I'm Anna and i'll be your server today... What can I start you two off with for drinks?" She smiled at the two of them. Jodie thought for a second, "Can I have a coke please?" She smiled at the waitress before Anna turned to Caleb. "And what would you like?"

Jodie was surprisingly warm, and he was tempted to just not let her go. But a part of him knew just how weird that would be, so he decided against it. He liked hugging her, and would now use any opportunity to do so. He smirked as she complimented him. “Thank you, thank you. I’ve spent all morning getting ready,” he joked motioning to his thrown together outfit,” can’t you tell?” He liked how she was becoming more and more comfortable around him, even winking. She was definitely something else, that was for sure. His brow furrowed in concern at the mention of being pissed off. He instantly tensed up and was preparing himself to fight the dirt back that angered her. Was he going to have to beat some guy up?
Caleb let out a sigh of relief when it was just about the game, and even laughed at his own stupidity. “Oh man, I thought this was about to be serious,” and he instantly regretted his words and fumbled to save himself, “not that Candy Crush isn’t serious, cause when there’s only five lives, things get stressful!” Was he rambling one? He ran a hand through his hair again and smiled weakly at her. He was just so nervous that he didn’t want to mess up anything. “I can try to help. I usually rely on luck to get through the levels,” he admitted. He hadn’t actually found a way to strategize, usually just swapping the candies anyway he liked. “Chantel is much better at it than I am. She’s on level like two-hundred or something stupid crazy,” he didn’t even know how his sibling managed that.
He gave her a goofy grin when she said she was hungry, and he was glad,” good!” His eyes glanced down at the menu in front of her quickly. So many options to choose from, and he wanted everything. “I’d say the same thing, but I’ve eaten a few times today already,” he said patting his stomach,” I’m a growing boy who needs to eat!” He liked a girl with an appetite, it was very attractive. He knew that she probably couldn’t keep up, but as long as she enjoyed more than a bowl of leaves then they were good to go. People who ate only three times a day were really missing out on life! Of course, Caleb also ate whenever he started feeling the slightest grumble.
What should she get? Wasn’t that an easy queston? Well, so maybe she couldn’t order everything, but that really was his answer. “My opinion?” he asked, genuinely surprised,” I don’t know. I think everything here is just so good.” Working here probably wasn’t a bad idea. He knew the menu, and he’d probably be a great spokesman. But on the other hand, he’d probably just end up eating everything when he wasn’t working, or eating while he was working. Eh, it was still an option. “Hey, Anna!” He greeted the female enthusiastically. Caleb was no stranger to the burger joint, and everyone knew him as a regular. He actually prided himself on that fact. “I think we’re going to sample the milkshakes,” he looked up at Jodie with a grin,” all of them.”

Jodie giggled as he mentioned to his outfit, "I can, you look fantastic." She laughed before listening to him talk and fumble on his words. It was so adorable how he was rambling and talking fast and... Everything about him just seemed to be adorable to her. She listened as he babbled and tried to catch his words. "Is this how you feel when I ramble?" She teased him before leaning back slightly in her chair. "This level is really hard, so I definitely need your luck." She smiled at him before watching him run his hand through his hair and continue talking about his sister who was better than him. "My sister refuses to play Candy Crush! So I never get anyone to send me lives. My family says how they'll never play it because it's too addicting. " She let out another laugh before looking out the window at the snow falling outside.
She couldn't help but laugh at him patting his stomach. He was so silly and smiley all the time and she loved it. Being with someone silly and fun, that's someone she needs to surround herself around. If she could have a life just hanging out with silly and funny people, it would be amazing because that's her life in a nutshell. She's a wild child once you get to know her and she loved people who aren't scared to act reckless and fun. "I could probably eat everything in this restaurant right not honestly. I'm obsessed with eating." She laughed looking over at him. Her inner fatty easily could come out when it comes to eating food with people at restaurants. Especially people who want her to eat!
She rested her arms on the table leaning forward slightly listening as he talked about what to get. She was honestly a little surprised he knew the waitress and what so forward with her just saying 'hey' and everything. She listened as he talked and ordered, and Jodie started laughing as soon as his eyes met hers and he grinned saying they were going to sample every milkshake the place had. Anna laughed before nodded, "alright, they'll be out soon Caleb." Before turning and walking away. Jodie watched her walk away before turning back to Caleb, starting to laugh again .
She shook her head slightly before looking up at him right in the eyes, "You're going to make me fat. I can see it now. You're going to be walking around with me and i'm going to be over weight and completely fat..." She shook her head laughing to show she was only kidding before rubbing her hands together since they were still freezing from being outside for a while waiting for her sister to get to the gym and drive her here. "So, tell me more about yourself. I mean, you told me the basics. But like, what kind of music do you listen to? What's your favorite color? Favorite movie?" She wanted to get to know him, and this was a way to get to know him. Ask him questions!

Caleb tried not to get embarrassed when Jodie called him out on his rambling. “I’m not rambling,” he tried to defend himself,” just sometimes my brain works too fast for my mouth and things get jumbled!” Sure, that made a whole lot of sense. It wasn’t a secret that Caleb wasn’t a genius, but he did alright. He’s what the grade book liked to classify as ‘average’. Maybe if he just tried a little harder in school or actually studied he’d succeed more. Eh, it didn’t bother him, because passing was passing. Sure a C looked basic, but who needed A’s anyway. “I’ll try to pass my luck onto you, but no promises,” he teased, laughing at himself and the thought of literally trying to pass his luck to her. “I wouldn’t say I’m addicted,” he lied,” I can stop whenever I want to.” That was the classic line of any addict that ever existed.
He felt a sense of pride that he found a girl that could eat, or even liked to eat. Too many girls these days tried too hard to worry about their outer body image. They should just learn to enjoy life, the only happiness they need. “I like a girl who can eat,” he joked, winking the best he could. It wasn’t seductive, far from it. He wasn’t really a sexual kid to begin with. That was more Connor than anything else, and also Chantel. He had somehow managed to have the least amount of ‘sexy’ possible. He couldn’t even flirt to save his life. It would explain why he was a virgin, and he wasn’t exactly eager to change that. It sounded weird, but he wanted it to be special not some award to flash around. He wanted it to mean something.
Caleb was excited about the milkshakes. They were pretty bomb and never disappointed him. “I’m stoked for these milkshakes,” he exclaimed bringing his arms out in front of him to cheer,” they’re amazing!” He usually ordered a different kind every time he arrived, but today they were going to try them all! He noticed her shiver slightly and didn’t pay any mind to it, until something in the back of his head told him he was supposed to do something about it, like man code. Finally it clicked and he mentally kicked himself,” here, have my jacket.” He took his own off, and it was still warm from his body heat. He handed it to her over the table with a smile.
He leaned back in his chair with his arms crossed in though. What were all of his favorite things? “I like listening to Ska. It sounds weird, but it’s great. My whole family listens to it. It’s like a mix between reggae and like more brass instruments. It’s gnarly,” he tried to explain, but it was something she’d have to hear to understand. He rubbed his chin trying to think again,” My favorite color is blue, but not like the generic blue. It’s the light crystal blue that you get from the ocean. But you know, the Hawaii Ocean.” Caleb knew what he was trying to say, but the beach goof sounded slightly special with his laid back tone. Favorite movie was a tough one. So many good ones out there, but which one took the top spot? “The Endless Summer,” he stated,” favorite movie of all time. It’s like my dream to experience an endless summer. They say that, if one had the time, and enough money, they could achieve an endless summer. It just sounds like a shaka life to me.”

Jodie's face turned red when he said he liked a girl who could eat and he winked at her. "Then I'm definitely the girl for you," she looked up into his eyes giving him a cute smile. When he took off his jacket and went to go give it to her she went to go object but he was already leaning over the table to give it to her. She took it and slid it over her head and over the jacket she already had on. "You didn't have to give me your jacket, I mean.. I already have one, but thank you." She smiled before getting up. "But now you're going to be cold, so I'm going to share my body heat with you." She laughed when she realized how awkward that probably sounded but she continued to walk around to Caleb's side of the booth and sat next to him. Once she sat down she wrapped her arms around his waist leaning into him hugging him since he was only in a T-shirt and was sure to be cold any time now.
"Even without a jacket you're really warm... I wouldn't let go of you if that wouldn't be awkward." She laughed and removed her arms from around him before running her hand through her hair listening to him start talking about what he liked. She shook her with a small little laugh, "I've never heard of Ska, and I've never heard or saw that movie before... But yeah, I get what color blue you're talking about. I've gone to Hawaii once three years ago, it was beautiful. I want to go back. " She thought for a second what were her favorite colors, movies, and music. "I will honestly listen to any type of music, I'm not one of those people who complain about it. "
She thought for a second before starting to talk about. " I love the color blue just like you said. But more of like a grayish blue shade. " The movie question was even hard for her to answer, and it was her question! She had a huge movie collection back home in California, and she was always the first to get movies or go to see a movie when it comes out. "I don't want a favorite movie, i'm like... A movie junkie. My obsession with movies can't even be described with words. If I had to pick, it's probably be Insidious or The Shinning. I love scary movies those are my favorite types to watch. " She leaned back in the seat by Caleb and looked up.
Anna was back with two serving trays full of mini cup samples, she set them down on the table before leaning up. "So, i'm guessing you guys will want to try all the samples before you eat. So, I'll come back in about... Ten minutes and check up on you guys and get these out of your way." Anna smiled at the two of them before walking away. Jodie looked down at all the samples. "Oh my goodness, all of these look so good. "She looked over at Caleb with a smile. Each little sample had the names of the milkshake on them and her eyes scanned over them before back at Caleb. "I don't know which one to try first. "

He couldn’t help but smirk at her retort. She was definitely the girl for him, but he still didn’t want to rush anything. It all had to fall into place or something like that. He wasn’t exactly sure how things were supposed to go with girls. The whole lesson Connor had given him had gone right over his head. “Can’t have you freezing in here!” he said as when she talked about already having a jacket. He was a naturally warm person, as was Connor. They were called ‘the human furnaces’ by Chantel, who was always cold. In truth, he was going to take the jacket off regardless, because it was getting really toasty. He never kept his jacket on long anyhow, so it wasn’t any extra discomfort to him. He blinked dumbly when she mentioned body heat, and his mind instantly went to that movie ‘Without a Paddle’ where the guys had to share body warmth to survive.
He gulped as she hugged him, his cheeks turning a slight crimson. She had trapped his arm, so he couldn’t hug her back. It was just kind of awkward, not because it felt awkward, but because he just wanted to hug her tightly. He chuckled softly under his breath as she pulled away. He liked sitting next to her, but he liked it better when she was across from him. Not because he wanted distance, but he wanted to be able to see her face and especially her eyes. He never understood the couples that sat next to each other when they could looking directly at the other. He just wanted to make sure he didn’t miss a single thing. But if she wanted to sit next to him, then so be it. He wasn’t going to argue with the lovely lady beside him.
It didn’t surprise him that she’d never heard of Ska because most people hadn’t. He looked at her shocked though when she said she’d never seen The Endless Summer. He feigned being hurt with a hand over his heart,” you’ve never seen it?! Well, that’s going to change!” Clearly he was going to have to sit her down with a big bag of popcorn and watch the best movie of all time. “Hawaii it beautiful,” he sat back in the booth slightly as if reminiscing,” home is great.” It was true, he really missed being so far from home sometimes. When he was just sitting in his dorm, all he wanted to do was surf. Being so land locked gave him home sickness.
He nodded when she said her favorite color was blue, but not his blue, different. “Oh, so you like scary movies? ‘Noice!” he said with a cheeky grin. “Insidious wasn’t really scary to me, but the whole dream thing was kind of cool. And the Shining was a trip!” he said turning to her slightly,” REDRUM, REDRUM, REDRUM!” That movie had been thoroughly creepy beyond words. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Caleb sat up straight when the milkshakes arrived. He was pretty stoked to be trying them all, and was going to demolish them. “Thanks, Anna!” he said as she started walking away. He rubbed his hands together as he surveyed the options.
“Alright, you’re going to have to put a good dent in all of these,” he stated glancing into each cup,” but not too much because you can’t use these as an excuse that you can’t eat!” He tapped his chin in though as he looked at the options. He usually had a different one each time he came in. It was exciting that he could have them all at the same time now. “Alright,” he said picking up one of the cups,” this is the Mint Chocolate Brownie one. It’s the Mint Chocolate chip, but with brownie pieces instead.” He took his own spoon and had some. “Mhmm!” it was clear that he enjoyed it as he handed her the cup.

Jodie looked up and couldn't help but turn red when she saw he turned red. She shook it off and listened as he began to talk. "Oh is it? I guess you'll just have to come to my dorm and watch it with me. I hate watching movies alone. So now i'm going to claim you as my new movie watching partner." She smiled up at him watching him lean back. As he talked her heart dropped knowing exactly what he meant about home being great. She loved California, it was practically her life there. "I know, California is great too. I practically lived at the beach for most of my childhood and young teenage years. I would literally fall asleep in the sand for hours while tanning and turn as bright as the sun. "
She had her elbow laying on the table and her head was in her chin as she had her head facing him listening to everything he said. She was a scary movie addict. She had seen so many she couldn't even think of the last time she had watched a movie that wasn't a scary one . She let out a giggle when he started to quote the movie slightly. "Back home, when I was watching Insidious for the first time with my cheer team it was so embarrassing because we were at the movie theater and I screamed when the red faced demon showed up behind the dad when the mom was telling the story of the demon being in the little boys room." She shook her head at the thought. She was such a little chicken, it was a wonder how she survived going to Halloween Horror Nights the past four years. " The Shining scarred me as a child. Carly used to write 'Redrum' across my bedroom mirror with lipstick all the time." She laughed at that memory before turning to look at the milkshakes.
Jodie let out a dry chuckle before watching as he tapped his chin. "Now, I don't know about putting a dent in all of them and still being able to eat. But I can try." She patted her flat tummy before flashing a playful glare at him, "I finally have a flat hard stomach, you make me lose that and you die." She laughed to show she was kidding before picking up a spoon. She smiled and took the cup in her own hand blushing as their fingers brushed before taking a spoonful. After swallowing it she nodded, "Okay... So I don't mind getting fat anymore. I don't normally like Mint Chocolate chip, but I have to admit... That tastes amazing."
She set the cup down before looking at some of the other milkshakes. Her eyes went big and she suddenly felt like a kid in a candy shop when she spotted her favorite kind of milkshake. "Oh my god. I can't even tell you how long it's been since I had an oreo milkshake! " She leaned up grabbing the cup before sitting back down and turning to Caleb. "This is my favorite kind of milkshake, cookie, and ice cream. I love Oreos... And now I probably sound really fat" She laughed before taking a spoonful. She ate the spoonful and swallowed it before looking back at him once more. "Okay, so tomorrow. You're coming to the gym to work out with me to make up for making me eat to much. " She laughed brushing her hair out of her face before taking another spoonful of the Oreo milkshake.
