"I um..." What was she even supposed to say to that? god he smelled like smoke. She remembered when she and Max broke up and how she felt like shit for the longest time after that. It was so hard to find the right words to say to him. "Over the phone?" she repeated what he said in an annoyed tone. "She didn't even have the balls to tell you in person, that's kind of sad." was all she could think to say, and that sounded bad. "Do you need a hug... or something?" she didn't really care if he was crying or not, because she had seen max cry plenty of times, and that didn't really bug her. "I'm sorry I'm not good at this whole comforting thing," what the heck was she even apologizing for anyway.
It was hard for her to see her friend like this, because she knew sort of ow it felt to be dumped, well she had been the one doing the dumping, but she knew what if felt like when someone you put all your trust in decided not to be there anymore.

'Yeah over the phone', Sam replied with a frown, he hadn't actually considered how much of a shitty thing that was to do. It had been awhile since he'd seen Amanda in person anyway ... Maybe three weeks? That was a long time not to see your girlfriend for ... Towards the end it hadn't even been like a relationship at all.
When Rozzi offered him a hug he sort of shrugged and nodded, then held his arms out towards her. If this didn't make him feel pathetic he didn't know what did ... But at the same time he just wanted to be close to someone, and who better than the girl he'd had a crush on for ... Well, for years really. Sam wasn't sure what was going on with Max and Rozzi but he selfishly hoped that they weren't back together.

She gave him a hug, "No offense but you probably shouldn't smoke that much, I don't want you to die... or something," she said. He figured she knew what he meant because when she got close to him she really smelled the smoke on him, and considering the fact that he got shot in the lung, she really knew it wasn't helping him at all. "Seriously though, are you ok? I don't really care if you wanna talk or what not I don't mind, I've sort of been there and it sucks. I don't know if I can help you, but obviously you came here for some reason, so I don't mind if you just need a shoulder to dry on or something, cause that's probably the only thing I can do to help." she sighed.
"You're pretty cool though, I don't know why she would dump you like that. It's probably none of my bushiness though," she was going to say that if she was with him that she wouldn't do that, but it seemed like that was a little much, and to be honest she didn't know if she would end up hurting him or not. "You don't need a girl anyway, when you have great friends right?" she wasn't even sure where she was going with that. So she just decided to stop talking.

'Yeah, I went a bit crazy with them', Sam replied referring to his cigarettes which were tucked in the back pocket of his jeans with only two left in the pack, he gave Rozzi a weak smile before stepping back from the hug. Seeing as her bed was covered in homework Sam sat down on the floor using the bed as a back rest.
'I don't know, I didn't come here to cry about it and everything', Sam replied, already feeling slightly better from the hug alone, 'I just wanted to see a friendly face I guess. I don't know. I'm kind of angry that she could do this, I mean, I just got out of Hospital ... And we have all this history together. It just sucks. Relationships are really hard, especially if both the people involved are complete dicks'.

"You don't seem like a dick to me," she said next to him, and hugged her knees to her chest. "I mean you're never been mean to me, but that doesn't mean anything, but don't be so hard on your self, I think you're a really nice person," she was being honest with him. "I know what you mean though, relationships suck, well they don't suck until someone cheats on you, and then tries to get back with you, or until someone you've been dating for like ever breaks up with you over the phone, sometimes I wish it was easy like some people have perfect relationships and their all in love and I'm just like where's my guy like that, but then I'm like well maybe it's my fault for not being that girl, then I wish that I could just not have to deal with people, but then I fall for some douche and I can't..." she shrugged.
"I don't know about your relationship, but I don't think that anyone deserves that... ok well some people do," Max "You deserve to be happy, because you're a really nice guy."

Sam sighed and draped his arm around Rozzi's shoulder, 'I guess we're just unlucky in love, you and me Rozzi', he gave her a weak smile and squeezed her shoulder in a somewhat reassuring way. It seemed that she wasn't back together with Max after all, which made Sam feel slightly better. Plus it felt kind of nice to know someone who wasn't having much luck with their relationship either. It seemed like everywhere he had looked on the walk to Rozzi's dorm there had been happy couples. Happy couples playing out in the snow. Snuggled together on the couches in the student lounge. Drinking hot chocolate in the cafeteria. It made him long for something that he'd only just lost... In fact, no, he and Amanda had never really been like that even when they were together.

She sighed. "It kind of sucks," she said. "Sometimes I just want to be part of one of those happy couples, y'a know?" It would have been nice to be in one of those happy couples where they were being cute all the time, and not getting in fights over stupid stuff, or getting cheated on. The last relationship she had had before Max had ended because she was too busy for him, and now she wished she had pursued it. "I guess it's just us then," she sighed again. "Everyone else makes it look so easy, I wish it was that easy really." She looked over at him. Why was it so hard to find people that wern't jerks? Or that would treat you right and didn't lie? "I bet if the person that could make me happy was right in front of my face I probably wouldn't see it." she wasn't sure what to say anymore because she was making this about her, and it was easy to hijack the conversation.
"Are your sure you're ok?" she asked. "You don't want me to go beat her up or something?" she laughed. "I'm kidding, i'd probably fail anyway."

'Yeah, probably', Sam laughed, and then gave Rozzi a puzzled look ... Had she even realized what she'd just said ... Sam had thought she was joking, and that she knew they'd be good together but ... Did she really not see it? Sam frowned, maybe it was only him that thought they'd make a good couple. They'd been friends for so long, maybe that's all Rozzi saw, just a guy friend.
'No, nah, don't beat her up', Sam replied still looking a little dazed by Rozzi's obliviousness to their situation.

"Are you sure I think it'd be pretty funny, actually," she shrugged. "I could clearly take her," she laughed. She knew nothing about fighting, and that was probably a good thing. She had never really wanted to fight anyone, and when she did it usually wan't worth it. She wasn't sure what to say after that. "Let me know if she tries to get you back I'll come beat her up," she winked at him, even though she was joking. She was mostly trying to cheer him up, and not at all being serious. She would let him deal with his own relationship troubles. Well not relationship anymore. She wanted her friend to be happy, and and maybe she was helping him, obviously he wanted to talk to her, and they had been friends for so long that it was easy to talk to him and joke with him. She felt like he was a nice person and she really wanted him to be happy with or without his girlfriend.

'Yeah, I'll let you know if she comes snooping around campus', Sam replied with a smile.
They sat in silence for a moment or two, Sam's arm still around Rozzi's shoulders. It was so quiet that Sam could have sworn he could hear his heart beating beneath his shirt in anticipation of what he was about to say. If now wasn't a good time to come clean about how he felt eh didn't know when was. 'Rozzi ...', he turned to face her and took a deep breath, 'I really like you, like, like like you. I know this seems kind of sudden, and weird because I've just broken up with Amanda, but I've liked you for a long time. I was actually going to break up with her so I could ask you out, but there was all that drama with Max and I didn't know what was happening. I'm not asking you out now, unless that's what you want too ... I just wanted to tell you that I like you'.
