Kylie's smile hadn't faded, like the flopping in her stomach. It was good though! Mostly just nerves. She played with a stray string from his yellow jacket as she thought about his question. Were they? Is that was defined a couple, just a simple kiss and butterflies? It had to be, she couldn't find another explanation. "I-I dunno." She darted her eyes to his and then back at the string.
She batted her eyelashes twice at him before asking a very important question. "Are you asking me to be your girlfriend?" She said with a smug expression. "Cause, I mean.. I'd totally have to say yes if you were.." Kylie offered him a tiny smile as she pushed an annoying hair from her own face.
{sorry that's so short}

Andie let out a low chuckle as he smiled and looked down at his chest, blushing. "Well I mean now its awkward cuz you had to force it.." he joked, looking back up at her. "But yea... do you wanna be my girlfriend?" His voice cracked. Well fuck, that was embarrassing. But he kind of didn't mind.. he was suddenly so comfortable with her.
"Is that weird?" He asked a second later. "Yknow that I'm eighteen and you're like.. yknow.. fifteen. Is that.. weird?" Andie put his hand up behind his head and scratched at his hair. He hadn't thought about asking her if the age difference was alright. Not that anything could be done about it, but hey. He figured he'd be a gentleman and ask anyway.

Hold it in, hold it in, hold it in. Kylie told herself, trying to suppress the excitement that was surely already radiating from her body. She bit her bottom lip and beamed a giant white smile as she wrapped her arms around his neck once again. "Yes! Yes, a thousand times yes!" She practically shouted. She couldn't help it! This was all so exciting because she was sure that she had caught the best fish in the Somerset sea.
Kylie cleared her throat and looked down at his shirt. "Sorry. I just.." She giggled and kissed his cheek. When he asked about their age difference, Kylie shook her head, "Don't be silly, Andie. It doesn't bother me. I guess I can see how it would be weird to other people, but no, it doesn't bother me in the slightest."
How was she going to tell her parents about it? They seemed approving enough when he came for dinner that night, but then again they thought the two were just friends. She knew her dad would be the one to look out for because her mom was the more relaxed one of the pair. She thought about how she could possibly tell them without her dad freaking out and yelling at her and possibly forbidding her from seeing him. Would he go that far? Kylie wasn't going to risk it. She decided in that moment that she would hold off telling them as long as possible.
"So how about that movie?" She asked, not really trying to change the subject.

(what the hell why did i say "pooped". autocorrect, you're drunk)
Andie smiled when she backed off of him and apologized. They'd been doing an awful lot of apologizing. And when she said she didn't mind the age difference, he only smiled broader. "Good. I'm glad. And if you weren't okay with it.. well. I guess I'd just have to go.. eat my sorrows. But no need now," he said, playfully punching her in the shoulder. "I don't have any food to eat my sorrows with anyway.. so thank you for not forcing me to go home to nothing," he added before folding his legs under himself on the couch.
Letting his head fall back, Andie let out a content sigh. She asked about the movie and he smiled, humming a sort of "mmmm" sound. "Yes. Yes, movie sounds good. Anything in mind, m'dear?" he switched to a very proper sounding British accent as he added the 'm'dear'. "Or if you don't wanna watch a movie.. I do a mean card trick," he added completely out of the blue. It was incredibly random, and he felt kind of stupid just suddenly speaking. But whatever. He wasn't about to take it back. Because he really did know quite a few card tricks.

"It's a surprise." Kylie smiled as she got off the couch. She did a slight twirl back around to him, "And magic tricks are for the next date because I have a few up my sleeve." She winked to Andie and spun back around for the t.v. She opened the big drawer and flicked her fingers through all of the selections. "Ahh," She exhaled when she had found one of interest.
She popped the DVD in and returned to the couch where she snuggled up to Andie's side and tucked her feet up beside her. "I'm totally making you watch the Notebook." She giggled. It was a bad lie because the tone in her voice was enough to give it away. The main screen came up reading Dawn of the Dead. "It's Jett's and my parents don't know he has it, but he lets me watch it." He looked to the screen, then to Andie in his adorable glasses, and then back to the screen. "I'm secretly a horror buff."
~ Midway though the movie, Kylie's eyes had started to get heavy. She couldn't be rude and fall asleep on him! But she felt comfortable enough that she could.. and she had. a loud scene at the end of the movie had woken her up. She nudged Andie, "Andie? You awake?" She whispered just in case he was. The clock hanging on the wall read 12:56.

Andie giggled when she twirled and tried not to be immature and make a 'that's what she said' joke when she said she had a few tricks up her sleeve. He muffled his laughter in his sleeve and kept his head down as she picked a movie. When the title screen came up, he gasped. "Well dammit, I was really hoping for the Notebook!" he said in his most flamboyant voice as she cuddled up against him. Raising an arm so she could lay her head slightly on his chest, he then let it fall behind her neck. He hoped she was comfortable.. she certainly looked it.
"I dig horror," he said in a 'cool' tone before readjusting his glasses on the bridge of his nose. "Yes. Oh yes. Zombies. Yes," and the flamboyant voice was back.
---
"Andie? You awake?"
Startled, Andie jumped as he awoke from what had been a very light (but just deep enough) sleep. His glasses had slipped off his face at some point and were laying in his lap, there was a crusty line of dried drool down his chin and his head was leaning at a very awkward angle over his left shoulder. But when he jumped, his head straightened out and he almost slapped Kylie as his arms went flying. "Oh sweet Carolina.. sorry. Didn't mean to," he yawned, "freak out like that."
Smiling at her, Andie scratched the top of her head gently and blinked heavily. But a thought hit him and his eyes began darting around the room in search of a clock. "Oh shit, what time is it? Are your parents gonna be home? Do I need to leave? Are you gonna get in trouble?" The paranoia was setting in. If they were going to date, it would have to be very well organized the secret would have to be kept as just that: a secret. He wasn't sure how her parents would react to this. And having not even asked if he could date their daughter, he certainly didn't want Mr. and Mrs. Cadwell to walk in on them sleeping together on the couch. How embarrassing.

Jett was so extremely terrified because he knew exactly what his parents were wanting to talk about with him. He'd been ignoring their phone calls, texts and countless voicemails for the past month and was almost sure that they believed he'd either fled off somewhere or died. He hated feeling so distant from them but the fight they had weeks ago made him feel shunned and unwanted by his own parents. The only reason he was going today was because Danny had agreed to go with him. Jett needed him to be there because he knew he wouldn't make it through the door on his own without turning around. He'd picked Danny up in his newly old car and they had just arrived in the driveway. For a moment after the engine was killed, Jett didn't move; one hand gripping the wheel and the other wrapped with the boy sitting next to him. He took a deep breath in and slowly turned his head towards him. "I'm scared, Danny/ I don't know how this is going to go.. They don't know about you." Worry showed all over his face as he leaned over to Danny to kiss his cheek before getting out of the car. He didn't bother locking it because there was a pretty low crime rate on this part of town. Jett didn't hold Danny's hand or even stand near him until they got to the front door and he stepped close enough for their arms to touch. He exhaled and slipped the key inside. When the two boys were in, Jett shut the door and looked around, not seeing anyone at first. Within seconds, however, his mom popped around the corner and was throwing her arms around him. "Oh, my babyy!" She squeaked, rocking with him. "Hey, mom." He returned just about the time she noticed Danny. "Oh, hello." She greeted with a confused expression. "Who's this?" Her tone. She always had a tone when there was something she didn't like. "This is Danny, my bo-....... my best friend." She smiled and nodded, shook his hand and lead them into the living room. Jett was so unbelievably awkward sitting on the couch, like he and Danny were complete strangers. He was fighting the urge to scoot up next to him, and it was painful to hold back. His mom had went to grab his dad and a plate with little handmade finger sandwiches that she'd made just before they got there. When she returned, she laid the plate in the middle of the coffee table and took a seat in an adjacent chair. His dad hadn't shown up yet, which was typical, so his mom started them all off. "So.. Danny, wasn't it? You school with Jameson? Do you also live on campus?"

Danny gave Jett's hand a gentle squeeze just as there was a kiss placed against his cheek. "It'll be okay, Jett," he said in a reassuring tone as their hands slipped away and the two exited the car. As they walked to the door, Danny was sure to keep his distance. He knew how important it would be to set a good example before Jett's parents, and being all lovey-dovey at first meeting probably wasn't the best idea. Plus that was weird. And when their arms brushed, Danny instinctively pulled away.
As the door opened and they took a step inside, Danny's eyes were darting from wall to wall. They had such a lovely house. But just as his eyes wandered up the stairs, a voice came from around a corner and Danny jumped as a woman (who he assumed was Jett's mother) practically threw herself around Jett. Danny smiled; it was sweet to see how loving she was. He frowned a moment, trying to remember the last time his mother had hugged him like that. But the thought was thrown out of his head as she was now questioning about who he was. Shaking her hand, he smiled, but kept quiet before walking to the next room and taking a seat on the opposite end of the couch from Jett.
"So.. Danny, wasn't it? You school with Jameson? Do you also live on campus?"
Danny looked up from his hands and smiled at her. "Yea," he said softly, with a toothy smile. "Yea we're almost neighbors, actually. My dorm is just a few down from his. Makes gaming on the weekends more convenient." To avoid grabbing Jett's hand, a habit he'd picked up, Danny laced his fingers together. He wanted so badly to sit next to Jett.. it was weird having to pretend like they weren't dating. I mean, he was sort of used to it at school. But it felt really strange not being able to admit what they were outside of Somerset.
Coughing lightly, Danny looked to Jett and smiled before looking back to his mother. "I keep an eye on him, y'know? Keep him out of trouble," he chuckled, trying to lighten the stale atmosphere.

Jett pulled his ankle up so that it was rested on his other knee. He sat quietly as Elaine started up a little conversation of her own with Danny and Jett was impressed that he could act like they were best friends. It was easy to do, I guess, seeing as that's how they had to act when they were in school, the hallways, the lounge, everywhere except in their dorms or off campus. He was getting to the point there that he didn't even want to hide it anymore. Especially after the fight with Cooper, he was surprised that the guy hadn't spread word around.
"Hello in there.." He heard his mom's voice suddenly. He snapped his head back to her, noticing that he'd completely zoned out and was staring at a picture of him, Kylie and their parents back in California. "Hm?" He asked, pinching his brows together. "Don't mumble, son. It's not classy." She paused and looked at the same picture, "I asked if you were doing all right in your classes." He told her that he was, even though he was just doing a half-ass job, and when he'd finished that he asked where Kylie was. His mom said that she was out with a friend, which he kind of assumed was Andie and she just didn't tell them.
Just about that time, his dad entered the room and took the last chair. Immediately, Jett straightened up his posture just a little bit and got insanely quiet. Micheal was a straight shooter and didn't bother with introductions or formalities when there was something on his mind. Just as soon as he'd taken a seat, he started in, "We don't hear from you anymore. Are things with you okay?" He paused and lowered his tone after looking at the stranger sitting on the couch. "Or are you just ignoring us?" And there it was, the little ice breaker. "I know we got off on the wrong foot your last visit, but... Jameson, we just want to know what's going on with you."
Jett could feel his face getting warm, "Nothing is going on. I'm doing just fine." His dad gave him that look of 'you know that's not what I meant.' Jett looked at him with a stern, straight face and solid tone, one he was sure Danny hadn't ever heard him use. "Nothing is going on." Sensing the tension, Elaine reached over to put her hand on her husband's arm, "Honey, this is Danny. He's our son's best friend." Jett was straining himself from squirming in his seat. Actually, he's my boyfriend. He yelled at them inside of his head. Oh, if only he had the guts to say it out loud and just end the pent up frustration between them all. Micheal looked over to the other boy with a tiny smile. "It's nice to meet you. Is that.. short for Daniel?" He asked, waiving Jett off like he wasn't there. Unfortunately, Jett could feel his temper rising as he glared at his dad. He knew he'd have to walk it off shortly before he blew up.

Danny nodded at Jett's father as he walked in and took a seat. He was ready to offer a handshake, but the man started talking before Danny could even move. And as soon as Jett joined the conversation, Danny felt a very sudden change in the air. There was quite a bit of tension, so he withheld the handshake and sunk back into the couch.
Having zoned out a bit, trying not to get too fired up seeing as Jett was likely to do that for him, Danny only looked up when he heard Jett's mother talking again. She seemed like the nicer of the two and was much more willing to listen to her talk. "Ah, yea," he said, turning his head to look at Mr. Cadwell. "Yea, its short for Daniel. Never really gone by that though," he said, tilting his head to the side and offering a smile. He was trying so hard to make things less awkward. He could tell that Jett was tensing up and lightly punched him in the shoulder. That was harmless, right? Nothing the least bit sexual about that. There was no way they could assume a single thing from a harmless punch in the shoulder.
And honestly, Danny didn't mean it in a 'boyfriend' sort of way. It was the only thing he could think of that might cool Jett down. A punch in the shoulder, a shock to the brain, and a step back down to reality. A hint of love, just to remind Jett that he was here for him. But nothing more. Nothing his parents could've picked up on.
After a last minute decision to try and win Jett some trust, Danny cleared his throat and leaned forward to rest his elbows on his knees. "Y'know Jett's been real into his studies lately. And lacrosse," he said, trying to sound as classy as them, keeping his voice low and powerful. "I've helped him study for lots of his classes and he's been doing rather well. I can't really speak for him but I mean, that might be why he hasn't been in contact?" He hoped he hadn't just made things worse. There was about a fifty fifty chance that he had and half of him was stabbing at his insides wondering why he'd spoken at all. Danny tried to keep a straight face, a professional face with a light smile, but was having difficulty as he juggled the consequences of what he'd just said. He feared for Jett, but mostly feared for himself and expected a 'its not your place to say why he hasn't been in contact' lecture.
But it was all for Jett. He just kept reminding himself.
Its for Jett.
